In implicit in that comment, is that violence will again be unleashed on Obi's supporters in Lagos and elsewhere in the Southwest , like it happened in the 2023 elections. Bayo Onanuga was more explicit when he said that Igbos have been taught not to interfere in the Lagos state politics. He said that in reference to the violent disenfranchisement and voter suppression targeted at Obi's supporters in Lagos. Professor Soyinka , in that interview, subtly said that what would prevent the repetition of such violence against Obi's supporters and Igbos in particular in 2027 would be Obi not to run. Professor Soyinka never said anything against the ethnic profiling that was deployed in Lagos against Igbos before, during, and even after the elections, which his brother, friend, and associate, Tinubu instigated and encouraged.
