Thank you Matti for a great photo walk together with Tuomas. I totally agree that shooting alone and in the crowds increase the success rate of taking better images. My worst photos are when I’m on holidays with the family. But I have to remember to take the pictures I can instead of waiting in vain for the ones I want. If that makes sense.
Hi Matti, great Walkabout with you and Thomas and beautiful weather. Great point you made Matti, to take photos alone. You have to be in the Zone with no interruptions. What Thomas said about we train our eye's to take photos, even if it's not the best photo in the world it's still worth taking. If it's a photo you've never taken it's ok if it's not perfect. Photography does clear your mind, it doesn't matter what's happening around you your focus is only on one thing, to photograph, Excellent point Thomas said. Thanks for this fun video with only all positivity spoken. 😊
Love this! Somehow, it feels the most real of what I have seen so far. Maybe it is the tips, maybe it is the small camera. I am using the ZV-1 for street photography currently, so I feel your vibes
Another fun walk with Tuomas. Just checked his IG and loved his work. Followed. I’m like him I like the diffusion 😆 more photo walks in sunny Helsinki! Loved the blue sky and bright green. Maybe a trio walk with Tuomas and Alexi 😃 cheers from Seattle!
Great video and your tips are always worth reinforcing. Helsinki looks great - was there about 2 months back (cold!) but we like Stockmann and we always find ourselves there at some point when we're in Helsinki. I'd recommend the Daido Moriyama exhibition that's nearby if its still open.
When I had the Minox 35 ML analog compact camera, I shot a lot "from the hip", the OVF was so bad anyway that it was just as easy to just point and shoot, as (Thomas ?) says, then you are used to one focal Length, then you know exactly what will be in the camera. A digital full frame sensor Camera in style with the Minox 35 ML with a very good EVF will be really "bad ass" for street photography !
I recently 'surprised' myself and got an Olympus e-p7 with the 14-42 pancake zoom lens for just under 600 euros new. It seems there is some kind of a boom going on with certain kinds of compact cameras, maybe because of the super fashionable Fujifilm x100v and vi. I also have to learn to live without an evf when using that camera...
At 10:52 is a great pic. 11:37 is a nice, and looks around 35mm to gather in the whole scene -- the Joel Meyerowitz current width he uses to take in even the unrelated.
I shoot alone because I have no friends. Shooting alone makes decisions much easier. I too preordered the X100VI. Nothing happened and I cancelled the order. The store couldn’t tell me when, or if, the camera was coming. I don’t want to wait a year for the camera again and won’t pay a premium. I bought a Sony A7C and 35/2.8 instead. Fuji doesn’t want my business. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
All the manufacturers have had manufacturing or supply shortages for ages but for some reason Fujifilm seems to get an unfair share of the negative publicity.
A few days ago I went for a walk in my City, on one Camera I had a 35mm and on the other I had a 110mm, it was a perfect combination on that day, because most of the walk was along the Harbour, where the distance to people was longer. I vary which Lenses to bring, fx in Göteborg last year I brought two Cameras, one with a 21mm and an other with 55mm, the Cameras have 60 megapixels, so if needed I can fast switch to APSC mode with 26 megapixel which is enough in most cases, so the 21 becomes to a 35mm equivalent and the 55mm becomes to a 85mm. Next time I have packed for a 35mm and a 85mm. I also some times use 14, 24, 65 or 135mm Lenses.
I own the RX100VA and the M7. There are different advantages on both cameras VA: faster lens, better quality at the wide end, ND Filter built in, approx 300€ cheaper M7: wider focal range - up to 200 optical, faster and better autofocus, more features, microphone input, EVF opens in 1 step instead of 2, touch screen
@@rst33079 I do not need a slow aperture long lens for a compact camera ! I do not need fast AF and I do not like touch screens ! SONY should still make the RX100VA version or make a complete new Camera.
If you are using the RX100VA you dont have to set the focal length to 35 or 40 manually every time after power on. You only need to save all your current settings to a memory (1-3 or M1-M4). This saves also the current focal length. 🤩 If you set the main dial on your RX100 into MR (Memory recall) modus and power on the camera, it will start with all the saved settings, including your selected focal length. This works on my RX100VA as well as on my RX100M7 and very likely on the other models too. The power on time is on both models approx. 2 sec. This is very helpful for street photography. 👍
I have a Sony RX100VI, with a 24-200mm which I got initially for music festivals and events where I would need a long lens. It has become surprisingly good for street photography, the tilt screen design is perfect and the 1" sensor is really remarkable in such a small package. I still use mostly a Fuji x-e4 with the 27mm lens, but the Sony is a great option, and incredibly light as well.
I was so busy looking at the beautiful surroundings, I almost forgot to listen! I love the rapport you have with Tuomas.
Thanks. We were prepared for some rain but that never happened and instead we got sun.

Thanks. Yeah, I get what you mean. Family outings are not always the best photo opportunities but you have to do what you can.

Your very welcome Matti 😊
Photo therapy - clears the mind. Exactly.
Thanks! Always appreciate your input.
As a Nikon z8 shooter, I love my Sony Rx100 va for street ❤
Thanks for sharing.

Fun video, Matti! Very enjoyable. :)
Thanks mate!
I like to make it simple, either with no people or one or few people, i think it makes it a bit more "dreamy" and "mystical".

Thanks. I'lI have to ask both guys and see if we can get together for a photo session.
@@mattisulanto that would be awesome! Tell them I’ll be watching all the way from Seattle! 😃

Thanks! Daido Moriyama exhibition closed in early June. Hope you had a good time in Helsinki.
