Moon cat teeth are back and im excited about this 60 minute timer on fantas- sounds like if you're not satisfied with your changes you can make some adjustments during the cd timer and i LOVE this and find it to be super consumer friendly- PROPS if true!
mooncat teeth only fixed for mouths 1,2 and 3, mouth 4 will still have dull canines for some reason. Also 60 min fantasia isn't bad but a 24 hour grace period would have been much better.
What would be truly consumer friendly would be not charging to change player character appearance.
@@ibigfire For most appearance changes there's the aesthetician, it's in-game, doesn't cost real world money. You can change hairstyle, color, facial hair and features, makeup and tattoos. Any time you want. 2000 gil, which is a pittance even early game with a new player. Fantasia on the other hand is for changing the character race entirely, even if it's just a sub-race change (ie: Mooncats or Suncats), and making bigger appearance changes like a completely different face, voice, height, etc. You get one of them free after completing the main 2.0 MSQ. You also get one if you bought the Heavensward collector's edition (which is still available to upgrade to). And they're giving everyone another one for Dawntrail (in case the graphic update makes changes to your character that you're not happy with).
So yeah, it's pretty consumer friendly because most people don't change their character's entire race on the reg. And for the people that do want to do that, well they can pay for that service. It's the same as in other MMOs if you want to change your character's name, or server, you can certainly pay to do that. XIV lets you server hop freely, within the same region (and soon that's going to change to be world-wide), so people wanting to change their entire character regularly, it's reasonable that they'd be charged to do so.
@@8BitCerberus Listing other consumer friendly features, and I agree server hopping and hair and makeup changing are really nice and consumer friendly, does not make the Fantasia system more consumer friendly. They get millions upon millions upon millions of dollars every single month from subscriptions and that does not count initial game and initial expansion sales. They do not need to charge for more, but choose to anyway. Anything they charge for on top of the game sales and subscription fees is anti-consumer friendly.

As an astro main since HW, this sounds promising. I vastly preferred when cards had different effects. That said I felt ShB astro was the absolute best version all around, so we’ll see how it plays out. On paper, I’m not disappointed.

AST gets the best of both worlds with this- varied buffs, and no need to fish for Balance
I got in during ShB and the cards and ESPECIALLY Astrodyne just felt lacking. I loved the concept, but the cards lacked any interesting elements besides “MDPS or Melee.” Astrodyne meanwhile… people actually liked it? It felt underwhelming even when you got all 3 signs, which was never worth if you didn’t get it right away even in a high end setting. It just sucked, so I am at least happy with that being gutted. Very interested to see where this goes, but I’m most worried for Lord and Lady oddly. We don’t know how they’re changing and they’ve caused issues many times before.
My main issue is: 60 seconds I get cards. Then I have to sit there, heal and spam my one dps move just like every other healer.
At least in HW I got royal road, and could enhance my cards in some way.. This kind of destroys the purpose of AST imo.
Hell maybe I'm wrong but honestly I do prefer to use my cards normally not all at once then not at all.
Also.. the only effects are defensive, curative and offensive.. No speed no crit no mp regen.. idk just seems more dumbed down, a SCH can increase Crit damage on the target and give defensive spells.
WHM can give defense bonus and heal.
Again I could be very wrong but I feel like I'm losing the unique class I fell for, and am getting a copy of WHM with a different look.
@@michealwatts7469 If anything you’re more getting Scholar without dissipation or barriers with this change. The cards now are a unique spender, and because your main regen tool was draw, that means that the new use of draw will most likely be directly the same as Aetherflow, giving 2kMP unless each card use specifically does ala Sage which still works. And, counting Lord/Lasy, 4 useful spendors until those 60 seconds are up. This also means that, just like Scholar, and if the draw still regens MP, AST will have an MP rotation, alternating between it and Lucid every 30 seconds.
Lastly… Scholar’s crit is its own thing. AST meanwhile has had two OGCD AoE damage buffing buttons for a long time, hence why the two go so well together. And we still see those skills in the trailer, meaning there is no doom and gloom in that way either. The big question for me, again, is Lord and Lady. Those will be the make or break, as we don’t know what THEY do now. How they’ve been changed is a mystery unlike the other 3.
VERY glad to have the change to RDM's AoE combo- It always irked me that the indication noise almost lied to you about being able to switch to melee in multi-target scenarios

Sadly we have no royal road, no re draw since its not random cards anymore and the cards are on a timer of 60 seconds. Then we sit, wait, heal and spam Malefic.. Honestly the HW Gameplay was multi tasking throughout where as this is... nowhere close to that.
The video is wrong imo, on paper it sounds like you'll have more options. Instead of spamming buff cards you can adapt to situations. I do hope the offensive cards are substantial though.

While you have the option to buff defense too its still not even close to what AST was.
Lorewise it makes sense for SMN to have a rez spell. I really hope they don't get rid of it. I still miss the old carbie pet summons pre Endwalker but looking forward to the new summons and abilities we'll be getting.

I'm sort of a casual player aside from getting every class to 90, and so far I've always liked when one ability automatically turns into the next input in the combo, like they do in pvp, I'm using a mouse with 2 extra buttons, and there are so many abilities it's still hard for me to hit all the buttons on some jobs at the moment, so I hope they at least start giving us the option turn some of those main combo's into auto next in the combo chain.
Some might find it lazy, but I enjoy it, and I don't see a problem with it if it's a toggle choice ingame.
FYI, the change at 7:53 is quite literally referring to the opposite of a one-button combo; it's letting you separate one-button combos into their own slots, likely so SE can do things like merge jump and mirage dive without making people unable to double weave it otherwise
They said that they were adding the feature so they could add more one button combos without dealing with people complaining about it.
Therefore, you can bet there will be a lot more one button combos than there were before.

As a current savage raider that plays smn, I think smn should get to keep their resurrection. I have saved many of runs with a well-timed res. Either with swift cast or dropping my own dps to get a player up. Normally a healer but sometimes a tank or dps for a body check. Outside of that, I am excited to see what this new summon brings to the table.
I'm on the fence, I've had the amazing feeling of saving a run by resing a healer for a body check while our other healers swift cast was on CD in a pull we ended up getting the first clear on. BUT I also hate the mentality some people have of hold your swift cast for res while progging.
@MrImjustaminorthreat thats understandable, and before i started raiding, i would hold it, but then i learnt that it was alright to use it whenever i wanted. The only time i hope it knows is when my group is progging a new section of a fight. And i believe that with the shorter cooldown, more people will start to use it without the fear of not having it for later.

@@rinnnnnnnnnnrin Fall Guys was up for the first time just a few months ago and includes an absurd achievement title though. it's not like Yokai which comes back once an expac, or even GARO that didn't add weapons and just reskinned existing glamours and made them accessible to different roles.
I really do like the Dawntrail title screen. I was getting tired of the moonscape. This is much more relaxed and tropical and I expect the new ultimate mount mount you get for collecting all the Extreme Trial mounts to have this song on it. XD
Also the endwalker title song is rather annoying at the beginning, the prelude part is ofc beautiful but the vocals get annoying real fast, especially when data center hopping

The button replacement things is AMAZING i have wanted that for so long. I fat finger the wrong button in the combo line sometimes on controller and this would help avoid that completely. For combos on tanks, it willl be amazing.

I love summoner but not having the ability to rez is a bit of an odd choice. I really hope they don't remove it in 8.0. My hope is that they get enough feedback on it by the time 8.0 comes out that they move away from that choice. I'd also love to see the summoner's heal get some love..atm, it's almost a pointless spell. Healing for 250 HP on a target that has 90,000 or more is pretty bad.
Not getting an upgraded heal makes more sense than taking the raise away. ACN learns both healing and dps, also when they learn raise. Then you get the job stone(s) and you focus on either the dps and go SMN, or focus on the healing and go SCH. You don't "forget" what you learned as an ACN though, so you still retain a little pittance healing as a SMN, and the raise too.

They *better* not remove my SMN rezzes, that's half the reason I play the job. Love bring extra rezzes to the fight and summoning is fun!
Honestly, I wish they'd give RDM's raise earlier, like more consistent to when any other job that gets it, gets it. So... pre-Sastatsha. Even if it's not *that* early, at least earlier than 64, somewhere in the 30s would be much appreciated. If they don't want to mess up some perceived balance, they could make Verraise unable to be dualcast until unlocking a trait at level 64. It would give us the ability to at least hardcast or swiftcast raise as needed and help out in earlier raids, trials and dungeons, but then grow into it's full potential at the same level it is currently learned.
For SMN it doesn't make much sense to take it away from them, because they learn it as ACN before even splitting into SMN or SCH. If it wasn't something ACN learned, and they only got it after level 30 during SCH quests, then yeah it would make sense for it to be a SCH-only action.
@@8BitCerberus I agree, RDM should get it right about when you say. It would also make going into roulettes as them a *much* more enjoyable thing because I know I personally, and I imagine others as well, sometimes choose which jobs to use during roulettes based on how helpful they'll be in groups with randoms. And not knowing if you'll have such a game changer like a rez available makes choosing RDM for the roulettes much more of a gamble than it should.
Action change settings very cool
*Cast time for the motiefs, even the first ones only doesnt have a cast time when OUTSIDE of combat. So start them before combat, once you enter combat they will have a cast time.
If they remove resurrection from summoner they might as well do it to Red mage too but the whole point was to have a back up person when the healer’s swift cast is on cooldown. I main a reaper but I use Summoner for some roulettes specifically for the resurrection.
Taking away Resurrection would not be great, I agree. I always saw it as a sliding scale of DPS and Support. I main SMN and the class fantasy for SMN isn't just the SMN's. It's the chance to turn a raid around unexpectedly with a well-timed swiftcast rez macro. I've done it before. It feels great.
The way I imagined the casters was such:
Level 1: RDM: low dps, high support
Level 2: SMN: mid dps, mids support
>Insert new level: PCT: mid-high dps, low support
Level 3: BLM: high dps, no support
NIN main: I really like what I see for Ninja. I like how it feels to play now but the huton-hide-suiton pre-fight prep was busywork for its own sake. I think it makes a lot of sense to rework that piece of the kit. While it does involve some level of skill to keep your buff up, it's not strategic, there's no reason to not have huton active. So making it a permanent trait:
- Offers room for a more interesting gauge, this new kunai thing
- Gives players more ranged AOE options
- Gives us easier access to hide in combat which we were already doing before combat
I like what I see, excited to get my hands on the new moves!
With live letter stuff I actually really enjoy the fact these are long, but also still a lot shorter than the LL itself.

Seems kinda an odd choice to remove res from summoner considering that they start as an arcanist who learn it at level 12...so what....they just forgot how to res people once they became a summoner? I get that scholar also starts as arcanist...still seems weird to have the spell, and lose it as you become a summoner.
Which means they'll remove Resurrection from Arcanist, and just put it in the Scholar kit when that job is unlocked.
I see a lot of people saying the 1-2-3 combo of jobs can be merged into one button, but I don't see that being mentioned anywhere in the Live letter, and they didn't show any examples of it either. All I got from what they showed is that some buttons that already DO change have the option to NOT change. Am I misunderstanding something?
I think the reason they're saying that is because the screengrab example they used for the setting was DRG's Jump if I remember right. Jump doesn't combo into a skill on the same button (at least not anymore as people complained when they auto combo'd it with Mirage Dive), so unless they've combo'd it back together with something else in DT again, it makes it look like we can choose to combo it with another skill on one button.
It could very well work the way you understand it though, but we won't know until they explicitly show us how it works I guess.

Lots of talk about SMN. SE sure didn’t poll the SMN mains. All they needed to do was give Shiva, Levithan, Ramuh and fill that one random GCD needed before each big summon. Boom.

I don't think the 60 minutes on the Fanta has anything to do with where you will see your character in the character creator. I think its just letting you use it, edit your character, log in and play around, and if you don't like how it looks in the real world, go back in to character creation and change it within 60minutes.
That's how I took it as well. Which, will be an ENORMOUS win for me because it's always one little thing I end up not liking and then having to buy another stupid potion to fix.

Being a summoner is basically the one who should be resing; it gives healers a breather and the ability to quickly heal downed players to full.
But why remove it from Summoner but leave Red Mage?

Healer main. WHM seems to be getting what people have been asking for - a movement tool (forward dash), an AOE shield (looks like) for party mitigation, and a Fell Cleave/Inner Release Presence of Mind phase. These are things people have been asking for in some way, so...cool? SGE on the other end now has an AOE DoT (Miasma 2) and an AOE Kardia. These are two low hanging fruits people have been suggesting and promoting for 2 years now, so SGE is basically getting (most) everything people have wanted.
SCH and AST are more complicated. SCH seems to be getting another Expedience-moment where people are complaining about the aesthetics of an ability that will likely prove extremely strong and overall useful, and SCH will likely continue to be the meta pick. It's also getting something more akin to old Shadowflare than Miasma 2, but as that WAS something some people had been asking for...they're still going to complain about it. I already looked at the official forums and they are complaining about it, but they complain about everything and mass report people who disagree to get them banned. I suspect this will be one of those things people complain about, but then turns out to be really strong, then everyone will say they knew it would be and were hyping it during this period when they certainly were not. For my part, I think it's neat, and I think this along with the (maybe?) WHM change may be the pure/barrier split going away, which I think would be a positive.
AST I don't really understand now and never have really enjoyed, so I have no idea if this is good or bad. As always, its animations are gorgeous, but I'm not sure if this helps or hurts the APM. I feel like it will make using cards less hectic in burst since you will only have one offensive one, and people have been suggesting having different types but also with the fear of Balance fishing returning, and this avoids that. It remains to be seen if this will be taken as good or not. Not sure how people are taking that one yet, honestly.
yes. i am looking forward to. also, who would want SHORTER videos?! i want MORE!!! some of the class changes look wild, and others completely meh... watched the job actions trailer before this, and felt much the same way... like some classes got INSANE looking abilities (dragoon, im looking at YOU) while dancer got... i dunno, the teleporter from stargate? actually, that had been weaponized in the show, so maybe i'm kinda into that... viper and pictomancer look incredibly fun to play. yep. thats it. thats what im most excited for!

Well, look forward to playing. Though end up being a month or so late. Did preorder the expansion. Just enjoying a break from the game. Even if I will miss a few events. Doesn't bother me. Just had no heart in playing after a while and maxed out all jobs. Plus, really do not care about most of the End Game stuff.
Also, hopefully sever issues will be sorted out by the time I get around playing lol.

I miss the AoE DoT Aero on WHM. When will we get that back, now that SGE has one?
As a samurai main with plans to try out viper i’m pretty happy. Also, as a person who prefers simplicity, i like combos each having one button that rotates through the abilities as needed. I disagree with the idea that it takes some kind of skill to do something as basic as executing a combo in a game where the next ability in the combo lights up like a christmas tree. I also just appreciate having less buttons to press. Less buttons isn’t always better. Having only a few buttons would be boring, but don’t think we’re anywhere near that point yet. Also having 1 button that rotates through 1 combo’s abilities doesn’t have to mean less complexity. Freeing up all those buttons could also give them the ability to add more combos to the game for more varied situations if they wanted to which would actually give players more options and increase the skill cap.
I am a bit worried about pictomancer for console players. Will we have to use the touchpad or buttonroulette to access the special attacks? x.x looks fun for PC players atleast.
I hope summoners get to keep rebirth. So many times they keep partys from vipe

Not so cool. Its been over 2 weeks now and people are being forced to jump through hoops to even give them money. Out of all the shennigans ive dealt with through my time playing, these payment issues have come the closest to making me just give up and quit the game.

SMN, i welcome our new mecha bahamut overlord. i'm not dissatisfied with current SMN so i'm completely content with more of similar with a bit extra.
WHM gap closer being real was so startling i had to rewind the livestream this morning cause i didn't believe my eyes, it's not the damage ability Seraph Strike that i wanted, but it's more useful to have it workable on allies.
RDM is probably the toughest for me to gauge, i'll really have to get a feel for it, i enjoy EW RDM so i'm hoping whatever it is they've done will help with some of the awkwardness. i do kinda wish it didn't feel like i'm sandbagging a DF group by running it though, i can /feel/ how little damage i'm doing even when performing my best, RDM just lacks output in a noticeable way but i suppose that's the cost of being a support caster.
AST is a job I've wanted to like for years now, so hopefully this makes it work better for me, especially on controller. fingers crossed my AST main buddies like it too cause that'd really suck for them :/
Pictomancer looks way cooler than i expected, and unlike the melees it isn't stealing flavor from the rest of the role like RPR from SAM (cone aoe) or VPR and MNK (if i'm reading the LL right) and i'm very excited to sink my teeth into it properly!
I just miss HW/StB AST. It was fun, it was engaging. I felt like I was doing some Pro Gamer Moves when I got exactly the right cards to the right people and popped off Royal Road and King/Queen and all. Now it just feels like "oh, I need mana, draw a card. Heal heal dps dps heal heal..." If they can bring that back with these changes I'll be a bit mollified, but it feels like AST keeps getting watered down
And I'm a RDM main, but I'm glad to see my SMN cousins keep their rez. Having that backup spatula when both healers eat it has saved sooooo many runs. *High five!* Further, I'm LOVING the color theory playstyle for Picto, that's clever as hell and I already feel like I'm gonna kick ass at it, even if the aesthetic isn't really my thing. Unsure if I want an Okami glam, or if I'm gonna go techwear and look for a tablet and stylus as weapons >:P
I do prefer to have res as a SMN main, it can be a game changer in difficult situation.
As a SMN main I cannot count the number of times SMN res as undone a Raid wipe because both healers died. I think removing it is something that should they do there will be enough outcry they will restore it.
Agreed. I remember during the recent Goblez fight, it was literally myself and the tank still alive at one point, with me panicking as I tried to res the healers and the other SMN. Easily one of my favorite moments and I would be devastated if they removed our res (even if RDM keeps taking our comms but that's a separate issue...)
I remember they were eyeing removing SMN res during the pre-Endwalker Live Letters. I’m actually surprised we’re keeping it for Dawntrail.

I hope the sch wings get some life... they were so static. Match us and seraph's wings a bit more, some glow or moving maybe.
