Been a fan since their debut album - "Firefall" - was released in '76. I saw them open for Kenny Loggins in '78. I had this classic on a playlist, so_outrageous_one. Beautiful song and nice selection. Cool seeing you appreciating these guys again, Harri. "Just Remember I Love You" and "Mexico" by them were selections of mine that you reacted to over a year ago. Great reaction, Harri. Thanks, fellas.
So wonderful to see one of my favorites...this great band Firefall. Loved your reaction! I feel it has a bit of a native sound...maybe the flutes. "Just Remember I Love You" was a big hit. Many Blessings Harri!🌞
Man, it's been years .... Can't remember if I liked it as much then as I do right now. Thanks to requester (sorry, missed your name). Great reaction, Harri.
Strange Way is one of my all time favorites from my childhood. I had a K-Tel album called Gold Rush 79, I used to listen to it all the time and many other songs. It takes me back to when I was 7, I started listening to music young and was enamored by soft rock of the late 70s.
Huge fan. I have a category of gorgeous 70's melodies that are "haunting" songs. Melancholia yet stunning tunes. This is in my top 5, heard it first as I drove thru the eastern California desert in 1978 and it took me to another dimension. Surreal.
This is one of the 70's most haunting, beautiful melodies. Other candidates are Nights in White Satin, Forever Autumn, Someone to Lay Down Beside Me and Time Passages. All have a melancholy ring to them but wrapped up in the most beautiful melodies, vocals, and arrangements. Superb.
"Livin' Ain't Livin'" "You Are the Woman" "Cinderella" "Just Remember I Love You" "So Long" "Goodbye, I Love You" "Headed for a Fall" 'It Doesn't Matter" all great
I love Firefall, their Greatest Hits CD is one of my go to disks. Livin' Ain't Livin', So Long, Goodbye, I Love You and Love That Got Away are probably my favorites.
God, this music takes me back to my childhood. I remember being about 10 years old and hearing this and groups like Player, The Dobbie Brothers, Logins and Messina.....great music, great memories.
I was a teenager in the 70's when this came out. absolutely love this song. youre right it is jazzy, and has a different sound and feel than most songs from that time. in march 2024 im going to get to see firefall on the rock and romance cruise....cant wait!!!!!
From their 1978, 3rd album, "Elan" the lyrics in this tune differ from their previous hits "You Are The Woman" and " Just Remember I Love You". The beautiful flute by David Muse so captivating, he would sometimes do a 10 minute solo in concert. Originally hired to join in studio for the first album, He could play several instruments and fit in so well, he was made a member. The lyrics suggest she cheated on her boyfriend/husband and he is devastated and feels used and wants to call it quits. Beautiful instrumentation and the heavenly harmonies made for a great tune. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and So Outrageous One 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Beautiful songs from hitmakers of the 70’s…Always love your respectful and intelligent reactions. This was radio heaven as it was played a lot because of it’s shortness.
Firefall's most underated album 'Undertow' is my favorite - with songs like - headed for fall, laugh or cry, somethings never change, if you only knew, leave it alone and undertow. All great songs to listen to if your going down this rabbit hole.
One of the most unique sounding tunes from the magical 70s. I heard this song for the first time driving thru the desert in a lite snow. It is beyond haunting and melancholy, but in an ethereal, melodic way. I love it when a song amplifies my experience or surroundings. This is one of those tunes, as is Forever Autumn by Justin Heywood (sp.?). The moodier, more minor chords, the better. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Early 70’s… Band named after, the Yosemite falls. (California State Park) BTW: Now destroyed by the protectors. For years they (the Park) sent a fire “over-the-falls. Never any problems but of course the Green folks canceled the Firefall. I believe under certain circumstances it May happen again, rarely. I loved this song in my 20’s
This song is the very definition of haunting and melancholy but so beautiful. Tied with Superstar, Forever Autumn and Nights in White Satin as the 4 most beautiful, moody singles from the 70s.
The great Mark Andes on bass…. His bass drives this song. He has had a great career.. Canned Heat, Spirit, Jojo Gunne, Firefall and the band Heart plus his years of work as a session musician in Los Angeles
Here are some of the 70's most haunting, dark but gorgeous songs. Nights in White Satin, Someone To Lay Down Beside Me, Strange Way, Forever Autumn, After The Goldrush are my haunting, dark melodic 70's songs. Honorable mention to Blinded by the Light and to almost any song by Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd.
It is, along with Nights in White Satin and Forever Autumn, one of the most haunting pop songs in modern music. So ethereal, haunting and yes, a bit jazzy.
Firefall is an American country rock band from the 70's-80's. I had some of their albums. The band's biggest hit was "You Are The Woman". Other hits included "Just Remember I Love You", "Cinderella" "Headed For A Fall",, "Staying With It" etc.
WATCH THIS MAN'S HEAD MOVEMENT WHILE LISTENING TO THIS BEAUTIFUL 1970'S MASTERPIECE ... HE IMMEDIATELY LOCKS ONTO MARK ANDES INCREDIBLE BASS WORK IN THIS SONG ...MARK WAS A PART OF MANY OF YOUR FAVORITE TUNES FROM SPIRIT JO JO GUNN FIREFALL AND HEART . ... FIREFALL IS A HIGH MARK IN 1970'S MUSIC AND ONE OF THE BEST TO EVER RECORD .RICK ROBERTS AND THE BOYS CREATED SOMETHING TIMELESS IN THIS SONG .HARRI YOU ARE A GREAT REATION GUY AND YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY COOL BRO .
Mark Andes went on to keep the low end for Heart. I really appreciate his solid albeit non extremely complex bass lines. He found the right accents and harmonies for the bass not stepping on the other instruments and making space.

Well said. An outrageous, melancholy, moody, perfect tune.
Firefall had some other really good tunes, but nothing comes close to this auditory gem.
Strange Way is one of my all time favorites from my childhood. I had a K-Tel album called Gold Rush 79, I used to listen to it all the time and many other songs. It takes me back to when I was 7, I started listening to music young and was enamored by soft rock of the late 70s.
So Outrageous One, you picked a good one. I hadn’t heard this in years. Thanks for your request. Harri nailed it on this one. 🌺

Firefall was a Colorado band that had many hits back in the 70’s! Mexico is a must listen!
Good Lord, it has probably been 40 years since I've heard this one (even though I have it on vinyl). Thanks for the 70s flashback. 👍
I love a good flute and this song has it! Seriously, I bought this record in high school and wore it out! Diamonds in my ears!😂
Harri you nailed it again! Another great reaction to a great song.
Mexico. The next song you need to check out. Really shows the guitar.
God, this music takes me back to my childhood. I remember being about 10 years old and hearing this and groups like Player, The Dobbie Brothers, Logins and Messina.....great music, great memories.
"Cinderella" is another great groove by them!
You Are the Woman song is another great one of theirs to react to. They have such a soft sweet sound, like the lead singer's voice.
I was a teenager in the 70's when this came out. absolutely love this song. youre right it is jazzy, and has a different sound and feel than most songs from that time. in march 2024 im going to get to see firefall on the rock and romance cruise....cant wait!!!!!

Good one
Harri, thank you soooo much for reacting to this jammin' melody
I loved this back when it came out and it's still great ❤
About the exact time this song came out, Forever Autumn by Justin Heyward was released. By far, two of the 70's most haunting tunes.
Love Firefall! ❤
Have not heard this song in a long time. Glad I did today.

I saw Firefall in 1976 in Boulder, CO with Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac and John Sebastian.

Imagine driving across a moonscape landscape, the California desert, listening to these tunes. Transported to a 5th dimension.
This song hadn't crossed my mind, in decades! ... I guess I've "done an OK job" of "avoiding the WHINERS"!!!

If i'm not mistaken this long version was only available on the 45, not available on the compilation CD released in 1992 unfortunately
Seems you liked the guitar player here? My favorite from these guys is a song called Mexico. You'll get a full serving of that guitar!
So thankful you got to firefall, i love their music , for me they have some great songs . Try 'Cinderella ' .
Or Goodbye, I Love You
Try driving across the Mojave desert alone listening to this tune. You will be transported to another dimension.
This band had Michael Clarke in it,he was the Byrds original drummer.
Mark Andes went on to keep the low end for Heart. I really appreciate his solid albeit non extremely complex bass lines. He found the right accents and harmonies for the bass not stepping on the other instruments and making space.
you will like fire fall song ..sweet and sower
Check out "You are the woman" and "Just remember I love you." Both great songs.
Ian Anderson must have snuck in and played the flute, LOL
Dave Muse on flute. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago.
God but I adore this song. I can listen to it over and over again. Hook these guys up with Justin Heyward and you may have the moodiest tunes ever.
They should like Jefferson airplane but they had a lot of samples great live
