I’ve noticed the same thing recently. It’s like the Lodge is out of poker players, so they decided to recycle all of their old hands.
He should have called. The rationale is simple: If Tesla had better hand than A2 (he can see it) then he would want Polk to call. Showing Ace would scare Polk off. So we can rule out better hand. If Tesla had worse hand than A2, then he has no cards at all to flip to scare Polk in anyway (even if he wanted to), therefore, showing Ace could only mean trying to get Polk off the chop.
I know Dough is gto and all but surely he understands the "strong is weak" tell

That was a tremendous EV play made by Tesla. I never thought there could be a case where exposing your card could boost your EV on the hand.

It says GTO means nothing in one hand. However, if you play GTO, you can hope to be profitable over a LONG period of time.

To all the people saying Doug made a bad fold in the first one they are just wrong. You have to fold in once Tesla shows the ace because you are only playing to a stalemate at best with very low odds lol.

This should just be titled, "GTO exposed" like all the current P Shiddy videos. This is why us hybrid ol' skool poker players who know GTO yet trust live reads, tells, & logic eat 'em alive still in today's game. You have to be at least 35 y.o. to understand these levels.

I LOVE when these "world-class" poker players get put in a tough spot. They think they can waste everyone's time by going through the countless hands their opponent might have, and then they guess incorrectly. You don't know what your opponent has, so thinking about it for more than one minute is just nonsense. Fold, call, raise..... hurry up.

It’s really not a good fold.
You’re currently chopping with A-2, A-3, A-4. On most rivers you’re chopping with A-6 as well. On 5-7 board pairing rivers, you’re chopping with almost every ace.
But the biggest reason is you have to ask yourself why he’d show you the ace. His motivation can only be to get you to fold off a chop. No one is reverse-tell exposing a card there.
This was my thought exactly. But then, if you go through a Princess Bridge battle of the wits logic, maybe Tesla knew that Doug would logically conclude that Tesla wants him to fold a chop, and therefore Tesla actually has a much stronger card and WANTS Doug to call. Yes I'm definitely giving way too much reasoning credit to these poker players, so yes the correct move 99% of the time is to call Tesla.
I do! I reverse-tell about 50% of the time, just to keep things interesting.
