“Rise To The Call”
Encourage one another
Build each other up
In a world of trouble
Never say enough
Be strong and courageous
Do not be dismayed
For The Lord your God
Is with you today
God is our salvation
Never be afraid
He gives power to the weak
And strength to the enslaved
He’s The God of mercy
But we just can’t believe
He is everything
And more than we need
(Chorus)
We can’t go down
Like a ship on the sea
Because we’re too mighty
To fall to our knees
We fight & we wrestle
Risk losing it all
When we could win battles
And Rise To The Call
There’s so much to be done
But we hit every wall
We repeat our own mistakes
And question why we fall
Because it’s human nature
Hard to comprehend
That someone would die
For everyone’s sin
(Chorus)
We can’t go down
Like a ship on the sea
Because we’re too mighty
To fall to your knees
We fight & we wrestle
Risk losing it all
When we could win battles
And Rise To The Call

So prophetic and actual song. Wow powerfull. We need to listen this call...
You hit your stride with Fallen, and are just killing it over and over now. You are a force to be reckoned with in the metal world. You are delivering for all Stryper fans and beyond. Better than in the 80's! No. Doubt. About. It. Blowing us all away with the music, and the lyrics are just God breathed. Praying for Stryper metal until I die!
Love these lyrics Michael. A great first release for your new album! Your skills are a blessing to your fans.
Awesome!
Thank you michael, great new music love it as i did in the 80`s, i meet you a couple of times back then in orange county calif. at Joshuas Parlor in garden grove.
So glad you guys dig this one! We worked hard to make it an amazing album and we can’t wait for you all to hear the rest!!
Awesome work as always!! Outstanding music and message! Your voice is better than ever!!! Never stop doing this!! Hope you guys play some of the new songs here in Costa Rica!! Thank you Michael
Looking forward to hearing the rest! -Kent
Top notch song. Awesome lyrics and amazing musicianship.
Overall a great song but I wish the drum tone (mainly the snare drum) sounded better. I’m just not diggin’ that tone. I’m still looking forward to the album though. Btw, just saw you guys in Indianapolis a few weeks ago and it was the best Stryper show I’ve ever seen!
Love the message of this song-needed it today. Oh yeah, the music kicks you know what!
You Rock for the Lord 🙏 Bringing Glory to God 🙏 Praise the Mighty name of Jesus Christ 🙏 Jesus Christ is Lord 👑🦁🔥🕊️🕯️🌅🌊🌹💘💪😇💯
The best thing about being a Stryper fan is getting a new record every couple of years. Stryper doesn't rest on nostalgia.
Michael and Oz are a super underrated guitar duo
Yes they are an awesome guitar duo, very hard to find
People have been saying this since the 80s actually and I agreed then too.
It would be awesome if they passed on these talents to their kids.
In this world of today. Unless you are pushing evil. You will always be underrated.
Stryper. Name one band from the 80's with their original singer that can hang with them, vocally and musically.
I'm waiting...
Though I know they're not together anymore because the bass player passed Michael Bloodgood. But Bloodgood
Fates Warning
Metal is Back !!!
Robert went from a pretty okay drummer in the 80s to one of the best I have heard. This song along with "The Devil Doesn't Live Here" are drumming masterpieces
One big sound! God is good!
I’m not a Christian, but this is absolutely amazing stuff!
Glad you enjoy it, check out their older stuff too! :)
Hope you can know the real God, that is Jesus through Stryper, brother.
Not yet you’re not…..
Stryper is the best sounding band from the 80's, then, and more so now. Most 80's singers can't do half of what they did now back in their prime. Mike is simply one of the best, period
Megadeth
this is what happens when 80's bands don't get consumed by drugs- they stay around and make awesome music for decades!
100% agreed. Been a die hard Stryper fan since the mid 80's, and they keep getting better with each and every album that they do!
I like this. I can't stop thinking that frontiers is seriously dropping the ball with thier marketing. The last album had a lot more plays on the first single. I hope strypers social media makes up for frontiers constant inability to market acts
STRYPER is Amazing! 👍
This album is amazing, stryper nailed it !!!
Ooohhh!!!! I am gonna get this album!!!!!! The lyrics on this song is sound! Speaks the truth!
I wasn't a Stryper fan in the 80s, I was listening to Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, Overkill etc. I've heard some of their newer albums and I have become a fan.
Definitely a favorite...
How does a band that’s 40 years old get better. The last 10 years is better than anything from the 80’s and I was 12 when MTV aired so that’s all I watched so I know 80’s Stryper well.
I think Stryper keep getting better
This band keeps getting better and better. Great addition of Perry Richardson. His bass sound is what really stood out on those Firehouse albums.
more like they keep getting worse and worse
@@geoffreypalmer2661 Ouch
@@geoffreypalmer2661 Man...Im gonna lose sooo much sleep now.
the song sounds like a toilet flushing
@@geoffreypalmer2661 Thanks for listening!!! We know for sure there's something in Stryper's Music that caught your attention. Stryper is way better than their contemporaries. Simple!!
Legendary heavy metal band Stryper are set to release a new single and lyric video, “Rise To The Call,” on June 24th. The song is taken off their upcoming album, which is set for release later this year. This forthcoming new album, produced by frontman Michael Sweet, firmly continues the trend established over the band’s last few albums of the band growing heavier while also maintaining their trademark melodies, virtuoso guitar playing, and air tight rhythms. As a special treat for fans, the band has released a brand new single, 'Rise To The Call' to hold them over while the finishing touches are put on the album. Stream or download 'Rise To The Call' HERE: orcd.co/risetothecall
When asked about the upcoming release of their new album, Stryper lead vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Michael Sweet says, “Although we have faced many obstacles over the past few years, we were somehow able to rise above everything that stood in our way and deliver (what I believe to be) our strongest release to date. Our new album encompasses everything that defines who we are: faith, guitar power, melodie’s & harmonies, consistency and longevity. We still have so much left to say musically and lyrically and this album showcases that. We couldn’t do it without the fans worldwide. Those who have stood by us through it all, for almost 40 years! We’re so honored and blessed to be able to release our 14th studio album and to be making the best music of our lives/careers. Against all odds, we’re still here.”
When it comes to groundbreaking bands in the metal genre, Stryper is renowned for their distinctive brand of “heavenly metal,” extraordinary crossover success, and venerable endurance. The group ascended to prominence in the 1980s with Billboard Top 40 hits like “Calling on You,” “Honestly,” and “Always There for You” and has maintained a global fanbase since. Stryper’s career album sales exceed 10 million worldwide, including 1986’s multi-platinum release "To Hell With The Devil". The band also made history when it notched two songs simultaneously on MTV’s Top 10 with videos “Free” and “Honestly.” While Stryper is known for their Christian faith, their decades plus career in heavy metal has made them much more than just a ‘Christian metal’ band. Sure, that is part of who they are, but at the end of the day, they are simply a long-running and well respected heavy metal band with a late-career rebirth that has proved their enduring talent and musical skills are well intact.
Today, some 37+ years after emerging from the southern California nightclub scene, Stryper continues to record, tour and perform for loyal fans around the globe. With three original members including brothers Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar) and Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitar) and newest bandmate, seasoned bassist Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse), the group finds itself creating their finest, most powerful music yet. Stay tuned to Stryper’s socials for updates on the release of their forthcoming album as well as upcoming tour dates from the legendary metal group.

Amazing song! Parts of it remind me a little bit of 'Bizarre' from Michael's solo release One Sided War. But this is even better!
Hell yeah 👍!!! Stryper is back, can't wait for the new CD in the meantime I'll be playing this song on repeat
This is how heavy metal should be made! 👍👍👍
@@carlos25021977 Yep. Glad they haven't changed their sound to try and be more "trendy" and "marketable".
Excellent metal song. ❤❤❤
That Michael Sweet scream at the end though! Been listening to Stryper since 1985 and all these years later,he still hitting those high notes!!! Amazing!!!🤯🎤
I cannot believe that his voice is still as good as in the 80s but it is true, i have most of the stryper cds of the 80s and michael's solo albums and most of the albums of the later years and i compared the voice parts carefully
@@peterwierer5921 Yeah, Michael is definitely underated.I have all the Stryper Cds including Murder by Pride and Unborn and have Michaels last 2 Solo Cds and also both Sweet and Lynch and the Sunbomb CD.If you don't have Sunbomb, you are missing out big time! Highly Recommended!Saw Stryper perform in 1988 in Daytona Beach FL when Hurricane and I think Loudness opened for them.Still have the photos I took of Stryper With my Kodak 4000 camera.Mike and Oz's hair is really long and hairsprayed!lol.Waiting for The Final Battle to drop!Love the songs I've heard so far!💿🎤🎸👂🤯😃👏👊👍
Reborn, not Unborn.😣
Another home run for Stryper. That ball flew outta the park like it had wings on it. Great song, great sound, great production.
Amen! Totally agree.
NO! Another grand slam!!!!
Great lyrics
the production is fantastic, who do they use? Anyone know?
@@marshill88 Frontier records I believe
This has to be the zaga of metal music; this has impacted the generations of the passed and present. Stryper's cup is definitely overflowing.
Thanks for always delivering awesome material, can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
Killer, just killer. I'm hearing more of an IGWT vibe on the backing vocals and even the harmonies in the guitars. I also appreciate that the filter I've heard on some of the more recent albums is gone. I had thought that maybe it was to mask some aging on dear Michael's vocals. This recording shows me that no such masking is necessary. It's fair to say that Stryper is one of the only bands that is actually putting out their heaviest shit this late in their career. I spend just as much time with the recent records as I do with the old ones. Bravo!
Underrated heaviness. I don't know why people don't think of Stryper when thinking about today's heavy bands. The last 3 albums have been skull crushing, but that's not all. The melodies, the vocal range, the monstrous drums, and the virtuoso guitar work on these recent albums are really outstanding. These guys are at the top of their game 30+ years after what was thought to be their prime. Nice job, gents! Again.
May the Lord bless and keep you.
Hands down best band.
THIS SONG ROCKS!
The light of Stryper's music cuts through the darkness!
And this is the reason why I'm a Stryper fan ever since the release of the yellow and black attack so long ago, ouch, that ages me, lol... I've known Jesus since 5 years of age. During my high school years, I was so stoked to have Stryper to turn to as a huge positive influence in my life during days of depression and anxiety while growing up! Thank you Stryper!!
We should never be so proud to fall to our knees, at least not to the One.
This song has that "Too Young To Fall In Love" sound, I love it!
I can’t get over this song. They still make wonderful music that rocks.
Yes Yes Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Stryper RLZ, to GOD be the glory!
Great message and jam!
1 Cor. 15:57!
Victory in Jesus !
MARANATHA!
✌
Never had a doubt, Stryper always kicks it out of the park. Just be patient, your patience with Stryper will always be rewarded. I have been following them for 40 years. These guys are always predictable. Predictable in the excellence of their music.
Stryper is a machine. They have been going strong since 1984. Continuing to bless us all with incredible christian rock musuc. God Bless Stryper Band and their families as well. God bless Stryper band indeed.
Christian Metal you mean.
Stryper never disappoints. Michael Sweet voice always solid as 30 years, rhythm and lead guitars with Oz amazing, Drums consistent and strong and great bass lines.
This is the gospel music men in this country need. Jesus is love of course but men need to know who they serve and that service gives us meaning.
I'm a woman and it speaks to ME as well, with my warrior's heart (despite having two X-chromosomes). We ALL need to know that God is love AND that He is strong and worth serving!
Got my tickets to see Stryper in Bogota october 10th. THE ONLY concert that matters to me. Long live Stryper!
You guys rock! Love this album. Been a fan since The Yellow and Black Attack. I had an older cousin who was like 13 years older than me. I think I was 9. He had a couple of Stryper albums and I was instantly mesmerized by the covers. I asked him to play one, and I was hooked! I had never heard Christian Metal. My Dad listened to Old school metal like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, but he left all that music behind when he dedicated his life to Jesus. I was listening to Petra, Kerry Livgren and some other Christian rockers after my Dad got saved. Stryper blew me away and they became my favorite band. I bought To Hell With The Devil on cassette when it came out, and was the only kid at my school that was a heavy metal rebel for Christ!
All I gotta say is awesome!!! Great song!!
Last six albums have been better than any of their contemporaries. Let’s go ahead and make it seven. This album is going to be epic!!!!
My very first concert ever was Stryper in 1988, I was 13 and blown away, now I’m a bit older and still blown away by this new music. You guys need to come to Colorado so I can take my kid to see you play.
Why doesn’t this have a million views? Stryper is the best… God bless.
It sounds pretty powerful. I like it.
Waaww!!! Stryper!! Great Firework 💥 Lov t !! Makes me think of IronM ! Rockón!!! 🎸⚡️🔥🎶👏
How the heck is this guy's vocals still so dang amazing?!
I absolutely love this song
I haven't listened to a song over and over again since Calling on You was released. We need to call on him and rise to the call.
How do they pretty much go dark for 15 years and then wake up in the 2000s somehow even more amazing than they were before?! Bravo, Stryper. You have been just killing it ever since Murder by Pride.
WOW! All I can say is wow. . .
Stryper hit a Grand Slam with this one !!!!! Some of the best lyrics also !!!!!
Hopefully the new album is HEAVY as it is this song!!!! 💪💪💪💪
🔥 ⚔️ 🔥 Proud STRYPER fan for 38 years! You guys never disappoint… keep Rising to the Call 💪🏼 😎 ⚔️
That- that was a banger! These past 5 albums... wow!
Truly my favorite band of all time now. They are such a testament to what God can do for you, soooo good.👍🏻
Absolutely amazing. You guys never disappoint. Micheal still has the pipes 👍👍👍👍
How does Michael still hit them high notes ? Wow.
Don't expect to hear those notes live. The tour would last maybe 2 nights! 😏
@@michaeldeserio8291 got news for you seen them in Georgia Last month he was hitting the notes live. don't assume anything
@Ed B tuning makes no difference he is still hitting the notes. The key of the song don't matter
I believe oz can still hit higher than him
Just think, if he'd wrecked his body with booze and smoke he could sound just as shitty as some of the other folks out there. To be fair, Rob Halford sleighs still.
This is absolutely epic! I love how the song shifts grooves and rhythms through, yet sounds completely cohesive. The drum tone is fantastic! This is Stryper at its best!! Big massive vocals, Perry’s bass playing is stellar, and the guitar solos are tasty! Yes to it all!!
I agree with you about everything except the drum tone. I’m really NOT diggin’ the drum sound, especially the snare drum. As a drummer myself and a Stryper/Robert Sweet fan since 1985 this is in my opinion the worst drum sound I can remember on a Stryper album. Overall a good song though.
Yesss
@@gtdrummer6429 yea, snare is crap. Best snare in rock/prog/metal is probably Portnoy and best overall is Simon Phillips.
His drum sound on Against the Law was great.
@@MikeB-oo9bj Portnoy and Phillips are two of my faves!
The drum tone is just fine, remember this is metal and not jazz.
Love it !!! Not only does it rock in the epic fashion but the lyrics are spot on for what we need in these times we live. WAY TO GO STRYPER!!!
agreed!
Absolutely Right
Every time I don't think that you guys can impress me anymore, you exceed my expectations! The album cover is phenomenal the two songs so far are Epic!
Y’all have done it again. Y’all getting better with age. Holy crap!
Like See no evil, I'm liking this one even better the second time!😲🤯👊😄👍
Stryper is one of those rare groups that can make 7 notes sound like 7 million. Extream talent !
Awesome song!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!!!
This Song ROCKS!! Thanks Stryper!!!
Love it!!! Rockin out while spreading the Gospel of Jesus!!!
WOW, this is awesome!
Fall to your knees to the King of Kings. Brave words Michael. Nice screams shouts and yells
I thank God the Creator of all Things. That Stryper is stilll around today. And doing well and still putting out excellent music. Its all because of Jesus Christ.
EPIC New Metal For these Challenging times that are coming & Stryper are STILL as heavy & aggressive as ever without compromising their faith or their beliefs for the sake of fame or any fleeting glory 😥 🤘
Jesus STILL ROCKS
Brutal brutal ....!!!
I Love This Song!!!! It’s Such An Encouraging Message!!!! Thank You Heavenly Father for the men in Stryper and their willingness to be used by you to spread the Gospel and further Your Kingdom through their music!!!
Amen! May the Lord pour out more Holy Spirit fire on them in Jesus name!🙌⚔️✝️🔥
Stryper, I've been a Fan since I was 7 years old(1985). This song has encouraged my family to RISE to the🤙 CALL! To GOD be the GLORY.✝️❤️🔥 God bless you Stryper.
Michael's vocals, like Ralph Malph says, he's still got it!
🙏😁
Head bangin' while sitting here at work. Been a fan since Yellow and Black Attack. Thank you for keeping the faith and bringing us fresh music still in 2022! You guys rock!!!
They literally never disappoint.
Micheal sweet your vocal becoming sweeter as years goes by.......A super Stryper fan from India, Nagaland.
Mr. Sweet's, and the Boy's, this song KICK'S SERIOUS DEMON ASS!!!!!!! WAY TO GO, STRYPER!!!!!!!
I love the catchy chorus and the crazy solo!!
Yeah!!! Go Stryper!!! What an amazing and refined song this is - so appropriate for the times we're living in.
I was a big Stryper fan back in the 80s. You guys rocked then and now your rock has an epic metal edge. I really dig the metal sound - so great to hear inspiring messages with so much energy in the music. You guys are awesome! Rock On!
Now we are talking!! This is great!!
the tapping in the solo and shredding insane
God bless stryper 🇧🇷
You guys never cease to amaze me. Awesome sound. Awesome vocals. Great lyrics. All around just awesome!
Stryper’s New Song is A MASTERPIECE. Love Robert’s Drumming in this song
New Megadeth Track yesterday, new Ozzy Track AND a new Stryper Track today? What a great week to be a Metal Head 🤟 🙏
That ozzy song sucks!!!
Who cares about the rest when you got the best… STRYPER. Isaiah 53:5. ❤️🙏🏻♌️
Tourniquet also released a sneak peak off of their upcoming new album.
I have been a fan since the SOLDIERS album, and this one sounds incredible! Thank you guys for keeping the banner of Christ up in a world of darkness and sin.
The solo and the riff behind it (2:20)!!! Love the whole song and the uplifting lyrics!
Hopefully the next tour you come back to Melbourne Florida!
These guys just keep getting better and better.
Now this is a message we who take the LORD serious needed
Love this!!!......METAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Very awesome!!
Rawk!! God be with you guys
THIS is what STRYPER was aways meant to do! They are the literal living definition of RISING TO THE CALL! From Oz's brain tumor diagnosis, surgery and recovery, to Michael's vision troubles, they have most definitely RISEN to their calling! Here they are making some of the strongest and most bombastic music of their entire careers, and pulling NO punches all the while making NO excuses and giving NO APOLOGIES!!! I personally cannot wait for the full new album!!!
True. Thank you soooo much Stryper for rising up your call despite troubles. Truely inspiring.
Man this is more of the music we love. Vocals, guitars, bass and Robert on the drums flawless. Excellent. Thank you all.
