“To pardon and sanctify *ME*...”. Don’t forget salvation is personal folks. Jesus went to that cross for YOU! I am firmly convinced that he would have done so if there were only one person who needed saving. I believe overall Biblical principles bear that out. God bless, everyone, and thank you so much for this channel.
Glad you're enjoying the channel, brother! Feel free to share your thoughts any time!
I grew up in a congregation where the worship music was a capella. I miss it. I really don't understand why congregations today have gone to amplified rock bands and loud loud loud !

Acapella singing are the most beautiful singing ever
With tears flowing, I am comforted by this A Capella rendition of an all time favorite hymn. Christ's appointment with old rugged cross assures me that my husband's last breath on earth a year ago was his first breath in heaven.
Wonderful hymn. I am so thankful that JESUS went to the cross to save me
Im so glad He saw me in my sins, and still suffered for our remission of sins. Went to Old Dominion University ,majored In Public Administration but fainted, so God in my suffering you are still God. I can offer overcoming testimony that the blood of Jesus still have miraculous powers. The Cross still represent my shame and God"s Glory. For in three days the Almighty God,rose in victory over the grave, and an empty grave is there to prove my savior lives!!!!Minister Marshella Marshall Thompson Minister Phil Thompson

Oh, that's so nice to hear! Glad I could be helpful. Thanks for being part of our little family here! Haha...
Beautiful hymn
I love this piece. It always reminds me of my family who have gone before me, because at the old cemetery church mass, This was one of the songs I remember most distinctly.
Our life today will be replaced with a crown. Lord I belive you, thank you and TO GOD BE THE GLORY. GBY all who listened to this true and beautiful song

In portuguese
Rude cruz se erigiu,
Dela o dia fugiu
Como emblema de vergonha e dor.
Mas eu sei que na cruz,
Nesse dia Jesus
Deu a vida por mim, pecador.
Sim, eu amo a mensagem da cruz;
[Exceto Soprano] rude cruz!
Seu triunfo meu gozo será!
Pois um dia em lugar de uma cruz,
[Exceto Soprano] de uma cruz!
A coroa Jesus me dará!
Desde a glória dos céus,
O Cordeiro de Deus
Ao Calvário humilhante baixou.
Nessa cruz, para mim
Há mistério sem fim,
Porque nela Jesus me salvou.
Nessa cruz padeceu,
Desprezado morreu
Meu Jesus, para dar-me perdão.
Eu me alegro na cruz
Dela vem graça e luz,
Para minha santificação.

The Old rugged Cross
1,
On hill far Away stood
An old rugged Cross
The Emblem of
suffering and shame
And I love that old Cross
Where The Dearest and Best
For a world of Lost
Sinner's was slain
So I'll cherish the
Old rugged Cross,
till my trophies at
last I lay down
I will cling to the
Old rugged Cross,
And exchange it
some day for a crown
2,
Oh that old rugged Cross,
So despised by the world,
Has a wondrous Attraction
for me for the Lamb of God
left his Glory above
To bear it to Dark Calvary
So I'll cherish the
Old rugged Cross,
till my trophies at
last I lay down
I will cling to the
Old rugged Cross,
And exchange it
some day for a crown
3 ,
In that old rugged Cross,
Stained with blood, so Divine
A wondrous beauty I see
For ' twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died
To pardon and sanctify me
So I'll cherish the
Old rugged Cross,
till my trophies at
last I lay down
I will cling to the
Old rugged Cross,
And exchange it
some day for a crown
4 ,
To that old rugged Cross,
I will ever be true it's shame
And reproach gladly bear
Then he'll call me some day
To my home far away
Where his Glory
forever I'll share
So I'll cherish the
Old rugged Cross,
till my trophies at
last I lay down
I will cling to the
Old rugged Cross,
And exchange it
some day for a crown
ON A HILL FAR AWAY STOOD AN OLD RUGGED CROSS THANK YOU JESUS FOR DIED ON IT

never thought of barbershop SPEBQSA . But I love the sheet music and the CLEAN VOCALS.
I looked it up (one letter was off): Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA)
LOL I think of bsrbershop as one word. like i think of railroad as TWO words because of the Long Island Rail Road. LIRR f1.media.brightcove.com/8/2014288409001/2014288409001_5575057475001_5574885071001.mp4?pubId=2014288409001&videoId=5574885071001

An amazing feat brother
I like the song, I request for another Acapella song thanks
i sang with Sweet Adelines for 15 years. that's the women's conterpart iof men's barbershop a capella singing.
So sorry. The men singing "a capella" (with no instrumental background) reminded me of the men's barbershop organization (SPEBSQA), and the women's version of men singing 4-part unaccompanied music is the organization called Sweet Adelines.
Definitely. I have my masters degree in music education. Be proud of yourself!!!
I remenber hearing Geo, Bennard sing an tell about this song and how it came about when i was about 8 or 9 years of age and that was some 73 years ago.

I've seen those shaped notes before, but never learned how they work exactly. I have a hard time reading music that has them because I'm unsure if I see a note on a space or a line. The video maker sings all those notes correctly though. Good job!
Each note is a solfege syllable. Triangles are do, semi circle re, diamond mi, right triangle fa, oval so, square la, ball diamond looking shape ti or "si".
You're like the Christian Bon iver, and i mean that in the best of way.
"Whispering Hope"! Please make this acapella, thank you !
Eu amo a mensagem da cruz!

Alive hym,never die.
this hymn is not one we hear a lot in Catholic land. It's lovely, and a companion to a hymn I fell in love with this past Holy Week called "My Song is Love Unknown".
Mr. Bowman, do you have "Love Unknown" in your hymnal?
have you heard of the channel, accapeldridge? he does something similar, although i love your channel, and would like to also mention that you have a special talent! singing all of the parts is hard to do, but i can sort of, but i dont have equipment because im 14!
@@acappellahymns thats funny. Mustve been nice to meet him. Im glad you agree that hes both a good man and a good singer. :)
Nice hearing the underperformed original rhythm.

Is there anyway you could publish the solo tracks of each harmony so that we could learn them?
I have a suggestion of a song you could do. It's up to you if you're interested, but how about "Come To Jesus"?
I like the original 1913 rhythms but their voices sound like they were autotuned?
Glad you enjoyed the original rhythms. While I don't use 'auto-tune', I do use some pitch correction to make up for my lack of singing ability. And as I progress over time, I try to use that less and less.
@@acappellahymns Ah, thank you so much for replying. Now I understand better. Please continue to upload these gems of the Christian faith. God Bless :-)
@@acappellahymns Yes, thank you so much brother/sister in the Lord. These hymns help strengthen and/or comfort all believers during this present crisis. May the good Lord continue to bless you :-)
Where did you get the shape note sheet music? Just out of curiosity. Thank you -Jackson
@@acappellahymns Thanks for the link to PDHymns.com. Have already found 2 hymns that were in our older hymn book but not in the one we have now, which includes PowerPoints. Also, which version of Finale are you using? I would like to add some missing verses and arrangements occasionally.
Beautiful song.
The voice is the ultimate instrument with which to worship God.
I think we should recognize that different people can glorify God with different instruments, like their voice or a musical instrument. Or both! :) I loved learning to sing and singing with others, and playing with other people in an orchestra. Playing piano at church was a wonderful thing to do too! I thank God for allowing me to learn.
dear Sir
@@aliciapicklejuice2469 although singing with instruments sounds nice, I believe in the bible it says God prefers you praise him with voice. Psalms 59:17
Absolutely. It's unmatched by any other isntrument. As much as I love a piano, it lacks the vocal range of a human and must use specific notes whereas we can create any sound in our range. Not just an instrument is our vocal cords; this it is, but also a means of communication to one another.
@@aliciapicklejuice2469 Your right. I don't know what we will have in heaven; whatever it is, I know it to be of a perfect nature, and I must prepare my character that I will have a place in Zion.
