To me, minimalism is not just about having less stuff - it's more specifically not having things that you don't need/use/really enjoy. It's more about only keeping things around that really serve you. By that definition your tech could absolutely be minimalist.

Thanks for this definition and perspective. I’m going to ask myself this question later this week and get rid of things I don’t really enjoy/use/need.

As a former and occasionally current all black wearer, this video made me feel some type of way. I still look the best in all black but now wear colour because I like colour and how I look in it is not as important. I've also accidentally found colour that looks fantastic on me that I never ever would have picked to put on my body but when I did, because event wear, everyone kept complimenting me on how nice I looked. That was a very surprising thing to learn.

So true. I was such a hoarder in my teenage years, moving homes have made me want to own way less things and appreciate how minimalism makes me feel relaxed and less burdened w/ the responsibility of storage and upkeep

I move year to year for some of the same reasons. Recently gave away most of my furniture and "stuff" to a friends daughter just starting university and it felt pretty good to pass things on. Looking forward to moving again in a month - gotta do some closet pruning myself.

Decluttering is a must😊 I don't buy too many clothes.....We must have just what we need. Remember that we need to make space for new things in life that are essential, if we don't have the space, how will new things come. Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻

Strain = if its Changeable as a Decision-( Decision break it down contains the word incision as in inc. not what Potentially Keep but also what need to Sacrifice , as it cuts both ways like ! One Pair of scissors Hence the Pair is One Tool ) ... Pain-( or Bordering on being a Pain )-( Much like Exercise ! Strain Not Pain ).. if still then Struggle- bordering on Pain then Try Make a Decision by bringing it a Coin Flip so if it is to land on the side of coin that disappoints u than its saying a Hell of a Lot about what yr Intuition Really wants so Go with the side of the coin that were face down. However it only is a coin to assist , as intuition can some times let u down as is like in the case of Intuitive eating sometimes it favours & sometimes it doesn't , but at least the coin favours the odds of a Favourable out come & Tells & Confirms Yr Underlying Thoughts , so Look for True intuition ( as in Oh Yoll Know if its True ), But if its Standard Intuition it will Help wade the info .

To be honest, was more stressful is, keeping things that you know you won't use and maintaining a space to keep the item and maintaining the item, as its still in your possession. That's why, I just get rid of it the moment I find out i don't need it, or that I dislike it and have at least one practical reason to not actually use it. Also, I hate to know that I will never use it and have to keep taking care of it and it has no purpose. That's why, I want to find out whether I need it or not, asap.

Just watching this video now and late to the party so people might not see this comment. Wanted to respond to the point about extreme minimalism not being normal or healthy. I am personally a very natural minimalist - I enjoy decorating but I really to keep it simple and add little touches. And I’ve realised this because people always describe my personal spaces as « bare » whereas I consider them decorated haha. It does really stress me out when I walk into a « busy » room. I am also neurodivergent, the kind that is really easily stimulated by things. I genuinely struggle to think and do things in spaces where there is « a lot » going on. I love empty spaces, I’ve actually lived with someone who couldn’t stand empty spaces and it drove me nuts. It does make me anxious, and I’m grateful for that - it’s my body cueing me that My nervous system isn’t thriving. Aesthetically I also think less is more because it allows the pieces to shine. Culturally, in the same way that there is more respect granted to extroversion, there is more respect granted to stuff. Stuff is fine, but no stuff is also fine as long as people are honouring themselves and not just following trends (whether minimalist or maximalist).

I feel so anxious about decluttering…i used to not be conscious about my style and now i have nightmares looking at my pre pandemic clothes…i really feel like grabbing everything and burning it…i have waaaay too many blue hoodies with zippers…I HATE THEM…just wanna build fire outfits and…blend some Metal band t-shirts in cuz Metal is life…strange thing is…family gets angry when you want to de clutter clothes or find new owners for them…im not into charity and “helping” people out…but we take care of clothes we wear and i would feel so happy if someone in need could take my clothes that are not so “stylish” for me anymore but they definitely work 🦾

I think minimalism comes very naturally to me and some of my friends. But I can see it hindering my social interactions. I keep expectations from all my friends to become minimalists and get a little upset when they do not. There is part of me that knows it will be good for them but also I feel my expectations are hurting me and relationships at times. Any insight??

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, & a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, & with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, & murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Many cold northern countries have feasts and celebrations in the middle of dark long winter. This helps people have something ti look forward to, socialise and share food to help them cope with the gloomy winters. These celebrations existed before Christianity.
If you have an internet connection you can figure this out yourself instead of demanding a stranger explain it to you.
