    Rustig aan is het belangrijkste.

      @@jwruskus5900 moet je zeker doen! Inderdaad, rustig aan. Zelfs in Marokko kan je verdwalen en je tank leegrijden of zonder water komen te zitten. Mobiele ontvangst ook niet in afgelegen gebieden. Maar het is prachtig!

    That terrain looks similar to some areas here in the southwestern US. Bike sounds great, looks like fun.

    Good stuff! I've been thinking of taking my T7 down to Morocco and you've just made me think of this even more ;) What's that metallic (?) knocking we often hear in the video? E.g. it's quite significant between 6:13 and 6:24.

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  4 роки тому

      Morocco is great. I highly recommend it. You should take your T7 there. It will do great. About the mechanical sound. Yeah good question. I don't know. Not something from the engine. It could be a the front brake cable knocking about. Or the bash plate. I'm not sure. Was also wondering about that during that ride at the time.

    Fantastic. How did you travel to Morocco / south of Spain? Regards

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  2 роки тому

      Hi David, I took the crossing from Sète to Nador. It's a nice boat ride. Beats riding the long tarmac to Algeciras in my opinion.

      @@davemanttt I left the car and trailer at a guarded parking in Sète and then just rode the bike on to the ferry.

    Just starting to watch this, looks awesome. What have you done to your tablet on the PR7? Looks different. Many thanks Simon.

    • @syncrosimon
      @syncrosimon 5 років тому +1

      I have seen that you have changed the Samsung for an iPad, as I would do, on your other video. A separate video on the tablet would be great. I love the idea of a tablet on a bike as I run Ordnance Survey mapping apps in the UK and having that screen size would be awesome for exploring and not having to keep stopping to get your phone out. Cheers, Simon.

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  5 років тому +2

      Hi Simon. The screen size is indeed perfect. I used the iPad for doing road book practice along with the RallyBlitz app which is not available on Android. Otherwise I'd be happy to continue to use the Android tablet. One problem which all tablets share is the poor readability in bright daylight as well as the fragile connector for the charging cable. It needs a proper housing where the charging plug cannot move. All connectors need to be secured and taped up.

    • @syncrosimon
      @syncrosimon 5 років тому

      What housing are you using with the iPad?

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  5 років тому

      @@syncrosimon The housing is called aiShell from a German company named Andes Industries. I'm using a RAM mount size 'C'. The shell works well although I would recommend getting a black one and not white. Also needs a usb charing socket that can supports so called 'fast charging'. Most usb (car) charging sockets mention a number like 4 Amps, but they cannot deliver that current to one single device.

    What Navigation APP do you use on the AJP Tablet or have you changed it for a different one ? Do you use your phones data for the GPS or does it receive GPS anyway and if so how good is it?

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  5 років тому +1

      For a navigation app on the tablet I use maps.me. I really like it. It makes use of 'open street maps' and you download them for offline use. To download the maps you need a WiFi connection. The standard Samsung tablet does not take a SIM card. The GPS reception on the Samsung tablet has been excellent. Notice that in this video I am using an iPad mini 4g tablet. The only reason for using the iPad is for roadbook practice using the rallyblitz app.
      I will soon create a video in which I tell more about the standard tablet and how to mount another tablet. The apps, power supply, etc..

    • @trevormatthews4279
      @trevormatthews4279 5 років тому

      @@joacerbis that sounds great, I'm using Osmand GPS and also try GPX viewer but that didn't seem to work as well... I agree with you about the tablet it works well without any sim needed.... Just got the AJP and after fitting since proper off road tyres can now really enjoy it for what it is... Looking forward to your video and thanks for all your tips so far...

    Hi. Just curious on that piste? Any rough description of the route? Thanks.

    • @joacerbis
      @joacerbis  3 роки тому +1

      First of all. The warnings... These tracks, especially the 2nd one is dangerous when going alone. No cell phone reception. Very isolated. I have created these routes myself and driven them myself. However, tracks change due to weather conditions, erosion, and more.
      These are polylines which can be converted back to other formats such as GPX. If you can't find the sites to convert them back. Let me know.
      I'll give you three tracks.
      1: Tendrara to Hassi Smara. Easy, mainly hard gravel, with an occasional sand dune blown a crossed it. It leads you to Hassi Smara, a small water pump station.
      2: Hassi Smara to an intersection. This is the fun stuff. A desolate place. Eventually you hit the intersection with the road from Bouarfa. Do not turn left as is shown in the track. Turn right a few kms direction Bouarfa to the third part around the mountain.
      3. A loop around a major mountain. Can't get lost here. Very nice though. Lot's of litte dried river crossings.
