Who's a Dunker who consider higher on the list than most people usually do??
Na this list crazy 😂
Zach is 1 for me, but most people have him top 5. So I like his spot on your list
I mostly agree, I'm a biased bulls fan for Zach tho
Maybe Dwight howard I guess
Giannis
I believe Aaron Gordon’s sit down dunk is the most underrated dunk of all time. The degree of difficulty is way too high
I believe that was the greatest dunk contest dunk in history. Aaron never gets any credit. Robbed of two dunk contests and he doesn’t get credit for his in game dunking ability either
I don't think it's underrated. A lot of people (rightfully) think it's the greatest dunk in the contest ever. Dude was definitely robbed.
@@alexallen126 exactly that dunk alone should be enough to have him top 10
Nah its nope that hard they push off,
@@anthonystevens5294
..what?
You make some interesting cases, but it feels so weird not seeing Dr. J on the list. His slam on Michael Cooper where he never touched the ball with his left hand the whole way is one of the most beautiful dunks I've ever seen.
Edit: I meant to say left hand
Yeah... thats the one that I feel I might regret, even more than Aaron Gordon. Picks 8-10 were the hardest, because thats where you decide who's getting left off
Figured it's also worth mentioning Clyde Drexler who's also an HM on your list. His glide dunk is just as if not more beautiful than Dr. J rocking the baby.
I get it tho, you picked some sick dunkers to take up their spots. And I'll never be mad at J-Rich acknowledgement lol
@@jonnyarnett Honestly I would have Doc over Lebron for two reasons :
- Doc's creativity - for his era - was bigger : Lebron has two dunks - Tomahawk and one footed reversal, whereas Doc was doing that and more....plus, Doc was making it up as he went along, whereas Lebron has the benefit of history, yet still hasn't done anything that's better/more creative than what Doc was doing.
- In-game/traffic dunking : this is where I believe that Doc separates himself...Yes Lebron has thrown down on Duncan (I believe only once), but the KG dunk wasn't even a challenge - he arrived late, wasn't the primary dunker, and never leaped), and his most iconic dunk is a blindside on Jason Terry, who's 6'2"....moreover, he doesn't "hunt" contact, he goes AROUND people to dunk....now, I DO agree that this is partly because that from his early to prime years, he was so fast, that he "arrived too early"....I also think that he's one of the top 3 open court finishers ever...(his style is more like Karl Malone's)....But if you compare him to Doc's "victim" resume, it's nowhere close...He posterized almost every big man in his era and the NEXT - including Kareem, as well as top wing defenders....
ua-cam.com/video/jLQvRcrrtaE/v-deo.html
I mean he's throwing down on KAJ, Walton, Gilmore, & Mark freaking Eaton....sometimes off of two feet (which LBJ rarely ever does).
Also, Doc's 2 most iconic dunks : on Coop, on Walton, arguably make any Top 5-15 reel of contested dunks.
(He also has the coolest live soundtrack of any player - live bands just start up! Coolest player ever!)
@@jonnyarnett it seems like you pull towards the power dunkers... and that's fine.... but to leave Julius off the list??? blasphemy. The coolness level alone on his dunks shouldve kept him at top 5, then factor innovation and leaping/athletisism? i aint mad that you got MJ at 5... but Dr. J NEEDS to be on this list. Drexler was great but he was definetly a "poor man's" Dr. J
Lebron is not 10 worthy, he never even participated dunk contest. Dr.J is one of the greatest dunkers of all time, leaving him off any dunk list is laughable. His explosive and majestic dunks were like art work.
Not even a honorable mention for David Skywalker Thompson? The man who Jordan looked up to!
Your list is a hot take lol great video like always. Dr J made the dunk contest famous. Not having him top 10 is a crime lol
true
Yeah Kobe over Dr. J is wtf?
@@user-cn8nu6lq4w ja Morant and Lebron over DrJ is just wrong lol I love e his videos and he’s entitled to his own opinion but damn
Well, yeah. @@tmac731
@@tmac731saying because someone started it means people can’t be better than him is hilarious 💀 we don’t say George M is the best player oat because he was the first superstar. So don’t do it here
JR Smith is criminally underrated and overlooked.
During his Denver and NY days he was clearly one of the top dunkers in the league and his dunk on Neil is most certainly one of the most disrespectful dunks ever. Not to mention his right handed windmills from right leg during his Nuggets days
Even his McDonald's All American dunk contest was a show in and of itself.
Facts
R u bugging Blake don't creativity mj # 5 u bugging now ..I'm done with this list
Desmond Mason was one of my favorite dunkers that never gets mentioned
I agree he's in my top 5 all time favorite dunkers and not only that he's right handed but he jumps with his opposite foot so right hand right foot which is extremely hard super underrated and forgotten as a dunker
Him n JRich back in da 03 contest was Fire.
Aaron Gordon
His creativity in the two dunk contest were insane
BUt he almost don't have good dunks in game. In game dunks > contest
Stromile Swift is another honorable mention.
Jason Williams mentioned him when asked for his favorite lobs catcher from ex-team mates.
Yeah, Top Lob duets! Any Top with Jason in it :)
I would have put the 360 from Carter in transition alone. So damn flowy. Against Dallas
Was looking for that man in the comments 💯💪
Jason Richardson...!!! Thank you!! Too many people forget about him.... his dunks were absolutely amazing
Super fact
It's sad that 20 years ago, in basketball circles, VC only stood for one thing: Vinsanity, Air Canada, Half-Man/Half-Amazing, Vincent Lamar Carter Jr. But now, everyone associates VC with 2K's greedy and manipulative gambling-simulator currency.
There are two categories...in-game dunker, and dunk contest dunker. I personally belive the in-game dunkers are just more fun to watch, because it shows a dunk over, through or over contact, versus blowing out a candle on a cupcake.
I like 1 and 2, I would probably put MJ in 3…I think you understated his power. He didn’t always use it but it was there even in games.
People sleep on him tbh and forgot he shattered a board doing a ONE HANDED DUNK and put a glass shower on three defenders. Thats a not very well known dunk, probably my top3 favourite MJ moments.
Agreed.
Weird not seeing Dr J on the top 10.
He is easily the top 2-3 most creative in game dunkers ever.
Dr.J probably retired before this guy was born or he was a few years old.
@@AveryBlackman This channel's goal is to appreciate talents before one's time. So if that's the reason then that's a huge failure.
Its all subjective anyway. For me, power dunks don't figure much into how good a dinner someone is. Or else Shaq and Daryl Dawkins would be at the top of the list.
@@DavidChen322yeah that's why I don't like him having LeBron in the top ten. As he mentioned he has 0 variety. All of his dunks are literally the same. He has like 5 dunks in his package. I would have replaced him with Brent Barry who he didn't even give an honorable mention to.
@@AveryBlackman Johnny arnett doesn't have any problem with his knowledge of basketball history dumbass
I think Julius Erving should be in this list, maybe in the top 5.
I prefer Wilkins over Carter.
As honorable mentions I would like to mentionTom Chambers, a great in game dunkers, ask Mark Jackson :)
Respectfully Dominique does not possess the creativity that Vince Carter does and Vince’s top 5 dunks are probably more memorable than Dominique’s. still a legend though. Just respectfully disagree
Westbrook is top 5 dunker of all time
"LET'S GO HOME!"
"LET'S GO HOME!"
"LET'S GO HOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"
5:50 MJ is literally the only Guard who break the glass, right???
DRose and Russ deserved atleast an honorable mention
I agree. I saw D Rose make a turn the corner dribble drive at the elbow, take off just inside the free throw line, 2 hand on the ball cocked it back father than I've ever seen anyone in 32 years of watching basketball, and bend his legs back to the point that the soles of his shoes were almost touching the ball. It was the most fearless and vicious dunk that I've ever seen. The explosion when he slammed his hands forward rattled the entire back board.
amen
Facts. How is Ja on this list but not them
David Thompson deserves an honorable mention just like Erving or Dawkins. During the 1976 ABA dunk contest, his dunks were almost as spectacular as Erving's, and more explosive. Erving wins because he dunks from the free throw line. Thompson also had some spectacular in games dunks and Alley-Oops.
Banger alert
Soon as I seen the title I thought of Vince Carter
No Top 10 love for Nate Robinson??? My heart is breaking
Also, I am stunned that Jonny left Dr. J off the Top 10 as well. That's the biggest surprise of this list
For real. I’ve seen all his videos and he really knows his stuff. This has to be a mistake.
For real. I’ve seen all his videos and he really knows his stuff. This has to be a mistake.
Nah Aaron Gordon is, like AG is Top 4 Dunk contest contenders ever
Maybe if Nate has 22 more attempts he'll finally land a spot on this list... 😂
Love to Shean Kemp🔥💯💯 Dude was a monster in his prime, Supersonics in general is so underrated
Good list 😄💪. A lot of people don’t know MJ shattered a backboard in 1985. He might have chilled out after that 😂
Cannot believe Russ wasn’t on here. Bro had the most athletic dunks of all time in his prime, and he’s still killing the rim to this day.
His highlight reel of dunks is viscous hey!
People forget number 8 Kobe was dunking on everyone. Especially those reverse in game dunks through traffic.
The one where he moved the ball behind his back against the Kings is probably my favorite
The one against the nuggets on Vincent was cold blooded.
The reverse dunks on Spreewell and Garnet were so jaw dropping with the announcers call.
@@Hoopfan83 And the ones on Dwight and Chris
@@Hoopfan83 That reminds me of Chappell e: "Cold blooded!!!"
I'm Rick James BITCH!
I would put Dr J a little higher because of his impact on basketball with his playstyle.
His dunk from the freethrow line, his dunk on Cowens and his Rock The Cradle dunk that you showed are all excellent
I'll humbly submit a couple names for honorable mentions
Larry Nance
Shannon Brown
And I must say that Shawn Kemp (Reign Man) dunk on Alton Lister is one my absolute favorites!!
Great video!!
Both riiight 💯
Dwyane wade is a amazing dunker too 1098 at 6'3 pure insanity
I love the list out of all of the dunkers you name i guessed 3 out 10 correctly. MJ, Vinsanity, Human Highlight Film
9:06 Fred Weis was so terrified of Vince Carter he decided not to go to NBA after getting drafted a year or two earlier 😂
Kobe at only #8 is wild. Having Ja Morant over Kobe is even wilder. And imo the greatest in game dunk I've ever seen was Gerald Green's windmill off the lob in traffic when he was with the Nets That was NASTY.
I agree with this. JA Morant over KB feels very off.
I never ever thought LeBron would be good in the dunk contest bcus of the exact point you made.
My underrated dunker is Andre Iguodola, his dunks were so smooth like they were nothing for him. He also had great versatilit, could throw down with a lot power and should've won a dunk contest
Agree, he has some crazy dunks.
He’s top 10 for sure
Mj should be top3 he's a one foot jumper but gets just as high off 2 feet, and did the vc elbow in the rim dunk first, in gam dunks Zach shouldn't be on the list
How does a man called Dr. Dunkenstein not even get honorable mention?
Thank you Darrel Griffith was incredible
@mbrownie22 What's funny is that I'm pretty sure he mentioned him in an earlier video, but maybe not. I looked up his highlights, and he seems like the real deal to me.
Personally, I’d put Kobe higher on the list and put Dr. J as #10 instead of LeBron. People forget how deep ‘Fro Kobe’s bag of dunks was. Reverses, windmills, 360s, double pumps, etc, he did it all and most of it was IN-GAME. Same with Dr. J. Dude is the literal pioneer of flashy dunks and won the first dunk contest. Other than that, the rest of the list I agree with
Please never change your intro music. Love hearing it after hard working day.
Such a hard list to narrow down, with so many having to be left off. But another awesome topic Johnny! I agree with #1 and Dominique over Jordan, and Dr J in top 10 but to each his own.😊
I agree that Darryl Griffith should've got an honorable mention tho same as Skywalker Thompson
Zion, 285lbs, 46inch vert, Crazy power on his dunks, creative, freethrow line slingshot dunk, shouldve been atleast a honorable mention, one of the greatest ingame dunks in nba history
Too bad dude has only played a little over 100 games in 5 years.
Zion has done nothing crazy in the NBA yet. All his best dunk were in college and h.s😊
@@Red-gc6dw Phoenix Suns disagree lol
Dude what😂😂😂😂 Zion hasn’t even done anything crazy in the past 5 years lmaoo dude has barley played
1 Dr J
2 Human Highlight
3 Reign Man Shawn Kemp
4 Jordan
5 Vince Carter
Dude this level of consistency is on another level man keep going!
Nice to see Shawn Kemp shown some deserved respect. Gary Payton may have stuck longer in the limelight as an all time great Sonic for his defensive prowess, but Kemp was the spectacular finisher of the team. Definitely a deserved spot on this list. I'm also fine, as a Jordan fan, with his spot on this list. He was a player who could definitely dunk on opponents, but with players like Kemp it was more the case of will or shall.
Vince Carter. Thats it! It was every single night and he had POWER!
I actually feel like people forget how good Vince Carter was at dunking and even as a player.
I personaly always had Clyde Dlexler in my Top 5
Off the backboard between the legs from Jason Richardson was crazy. When I think great dunks, I’m the perfect age to automatically think Jason Richardson
This is the true list. I look at two leg leaping one leg leaping style and creativity, endgame situations, smoothness, power
1A. MJ
1B. Kemp
3. Wilkins
4. Pippen
5. Drexler
6. Carter
7. Erving
8. Webb best 5'7"
9. Robinson best 7 foot
10. Young Kobe
Dawkins
Iverson NBA 6 foot dunker
Michael Finley
Shaq
Olajuwon
Barkley
Worthy
Garnett
Chambers
Brent Barry
Jerome Kersey
Eddie Jones
Makes me happy to see Kemp listed an so high, he was awesome at dunking. Like he was angry at the rim.
He never really did well in drunk contests if I remember right. I don't think he liked all eyes on him by himself, but that's speculating.
But in games? Awesome!!!!
I got to see him play live a bunch of times, even a couple of his biggest games like game 7 in 96 against the Jazz an game 4 of the finals that year. I was buying 7 game packages back then plus still going to single games during the regular season. I loved that Sonics team.
I don't remember how many games Seattle won in 96 but it was over 60 an of the 13 total games the Bulls lost that year between the regular season an playoffs/finals Seattle gave them 3 of those losses. I saw 2 of them, looking back I kind of took the whole thing for granted an I guess thought it would always be there. I still loved it an appreciated it at the time but with the Sonics gone an MJ retired I really miss that time in basketball.
Today's game has probably the best players ever an they're not allowed to play defense. I hate it.
Maybe a team will come back when they expand next. Maybe that'll bring me to today's game more.
My favorite dunk ever is the classic: here comes Chris Paul, the lob, THE JAM, OH WHAT A MONSTER JAM BY DEANDRE JORDAN.
That dunk paused the game, Chris Paul acted like he just witnesses a Murderer, Jordan run from the authorities that were coming for him, Blake was ready to fight anyone on his path, Danny Granger just left, the whole Detroid team just wanted to go home, half didn't even want to acknowledge that they knew Knight, Knight saw God itself and spend what seemed like forever to wake up.
that was the purest form of dunking I've ever seen.
in no particular order:dr j, michael jordan, vince carter, spud webb, david thompson, kobe bryant, dominique wilkins, ja morant, shawn kemp, darryl dawkins
"Like the rim was disrespecting his mama" got me dead
Dunks are why I fell in love with basketball
And Dr. J is the godfather of dunks.
Would love to see you do a video on that 2016 dunk contest. That was so iconic
Another honorable mention: prime Larry Johnson before he hurt his back.
Yes, Vince Carter's dunk when he LITERALLY tea bagged a 7 footers forehead in the Olympics is my #1 dunk
Stg I love this channel l.. nahhh fr 💪🏾🐐
When I first heard u say Ja... I was shaking my head, then the dunks started... Yeah he deserves to be on this list
At this point I'm just glad Jason Richardson is on the list. He almost always gets forgotten.
Edit: I'm also not as high as you are on Kobe's placement especially if we take his 97 dunk contest into consideration. Kobe didn't have any good dunks outside his between the legs dunk. What saves Kobe IMO is his litany of in game dunks (2nd only to Dwyane Wade for most dunks recorded for a guard) and posters but I feel like guys like J-Rich, Andre Iguodala, Tracy McGrady, and Aaron Gordon had better far better dunk contest performances and impressive enough in-game dunks/posters to give them the edge over him even if Kobe surpasses them in the in-game dunks category. Long story short, I'm not mad at his placement, but I do think he should've been in honorable mentions.
As far as in game dunks goes my top 3 would be:
1. Carter
2. Wilkins
3. Kemp
Those are one step above everyone else. Kemp had more then pure power, his one handed tomahawks are still the best looking ever, in my book.
"...Dumb, no-good, filthy casual..." absolutely floored me 💀💀
Sprewell. I know he didnt show a lot of creativity. But those 2 handed slams will always be iconic to me😊.
JackKnife dunks all day!
Great list
Video Ideas:
Top 10 pure hoopers
Top 10 fall off teams after winning a chip
Thanks for the nice content
Perfect list!! Nique is my all time favorite player! Met him a couple years ago and got a ball, jersey, and USA jersey signed.
i think u overlooked a players ability to get to the rim, it’s like saying the best passers all time but only looking at flair a player like lbj or dwight howard who could get to the arm at will is so undervalued especially with how soul crushing their domination was
Besides Julius Erving not being in the list, I can’t get mad at this video.
Steve Francis, Amer'e Stoudemire, Stromile Swift... just a few guys that came to mind as remarkable dunkers
I’m surprised Dr. J didn’t make the top 10, but this list is valid
Bro wants all the smoke on this one. I really think Dr. J deserves a place somewhere on the list, bro was so ahead of his time
Solid list, happy to see Kemp up there and Nique at #2, and finally a list without Shaq, but how could you not have Dr. J 😭
If we had more videos but it was a shame that technology wasn’t developed yet ! If we had these videos we will all know DOCTOR J is KING
Mine is
1. Zach Lavine
2. Aaron Gordan
3. Vince Carter
4. MJ
5. Wilkins
6.Lebron
7.Ja morant
8. Tmac
9. Westbrook
10. Richardson
The day always get greater when Mr Jonny arnett posts 🥹🥹🤗🤗🤗
Nice list Jonny. Jason Richarson should get the Honorable Mention. Julius "Dr. J" Erving must be in the Top 10
One thing about Kobe too hes def top 5 in catching bodies as a perimeter player
the 84 nba dunk contest is a mandela effect for me, i remember dr. j winning not larry nance. the return of the dunk contest was a big deal.
Fun topic, good list. I would have to double think a few guys but the only one you didnt convince me on was Lebron. GREAT power dunker, yes, but I would have has Dr J in my top 10.... probably #8. But you since pioneering wasn't one of your criteria, Lebron fits.
Also, I make a case for Shaq. The Best power drunker. His dunk package was one dimensional but dudes just bounced off of him while he dunked. It created a ton of poster moments.
Good list, my guy Gerald Green got a mention. That alley windmill might be the best in game dunk ever
This is one of the video, that I would prefer to watch like My favourite dunkers part 1-20
VC's baseline opposite rip on the Chris Mullen and the Pacers is heavily underated
I look at two leg leaping one leg leaping style and creativity, endgame situations, smoothness, power
1A. MJ
1B. Kemp
3. Wilkins
4. Pippen
5. Drexler
6. Carter
7. Webb best 5'7"
8. Robinson best 7 foot
9. Dawkins
10. Young Kobe
11. Iverson NBA 6 foot dunker
12. Michael Finley
Glad to see my man Shawn Kemp on the list! As for Dominique, I love his dunks, but I have always felt that his bag is not very deep. I absolutely love his power though.
Spud webb deserves a honourable mention ....for winning the dunk contest in 86 ...the human flea
Desmond Mason is grossly underrated. So is Shaq, Dr.J, Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady. Aaron Gordon is right up there with VC15 but Carter is untouchable for in game dunks
Shaq fails the visual test (in large part just due to his size), and I don't think he ever won any dunk contests.
Dis list was DOPE Zach lavine being in your top 10 is SICK. Pretty much my list woulda been the same also i would gave Both Larry Nance Sr. And Jr. As an Honorable mention aswell.Dope vid.
Your list is respectful!
I would argue that after all these years nobody dunked the ball better than Julius Erving. Also Shaq should be on this list 100%. He based his whole career on dunking on people.
3:32 LeBron has Kobe beat in the longevity department in terms of dunking prowess. You can't ask if LeBron can still dunk like you would for Carter when he was 38.
Great video. You are probably my favorite basketball channel.
Good list but no way that Kobe is over Lebron when he didn’t have 40 inch as a shooting guard. Great dunker nevertheless but not that caliber.
Maybe not all timers, but...
1- JR Smith had some incredible dunks that stick out in my memory
2- Shaq only because he took every opportunity to posterize the poor fella guarding him and bring down the rim
Idk Man russ Not being on here and not even being an honorable mention is kinda egregious
Jordan Literally has a highlight video posterizing every team🤣🤣🔥🔥
If you put power over creativity I can see you putting Kemp up there. Just can't see Levine that high. Not enough great in game dunks. Iconic dunks should count for something. Dr. J should be on the list. And I think Dwayne Wade should be on honorable mention
Great point about Levine. I was shocked that he was even on the list.
Great list, hard to take anyone of them out of the top 10, but i have to replace one of them with Dr J, his in game dunks were top tier and he won a dunk contest as well.
nice List ...enjoyed watching this...I am missing Russ and DRose as well as Shaq just because of the amount of dunks he had
Kobes dunk over Steve Nash was one of the plays that made me start loving kobe after being a hater for years
Vince Carter's dunks put Canada on the NBA map, so they are a bit more special to me
You should do a top 10 dunkers of all time for each position.

My Mount Rushmore of Dunking-- Vince Carter, Shawn Kemp, Zach Levine and Aaron Gordon.
Solid list. The only one missing for me is Shaq. Find me another dunker as dominant, springy, and powerful north of 300-350lbs. That alone should warrant a spot.
Wilt.
Fair, but if I get pedantic about it, I'm not sure whether Wilt ever actually played above 350lb.
@@aaronbrooku said 300-350 and wilt def reached 300
If Wilt is on a team, Shaq couldn't make the roster if he played for free. Not only was Wilt much better, he played almost every minute of every game. @@aaronbrook
@aaronbrook wilt dunks r actually far stronger than shaq
Shaq simply just held onto the rim afterwards and mainly pulled with all his weight while wilt generally just let go
And considering that someone said they broke thier toe from how hard wilt dunked seems pretty strong
Also wilt could reach FAR higher point in the air so his dunks could be from a far higher verticle plan which just adds to the power
