I think if they released a version of them doing this that was just the song start to finish, it would be better than Pentatonix's, but as it stands right now there is just so much going on that isn't singing that I wouldn't listen to it as my goto version of the song. However in terms of fun to watch, this was amazing
The original animated version of The Grinch has been my favorite Christmas show for over 50 years and VoicePlay is my favorite group so I've really been looking forward to this. VP did not disappoint! This song/video is amazing. The singing, the comedy, the entire production is top notch. I've always loved Max, the dog, and the part with Layne as Max & the Grinch is my favorite. I love Layne's "woof". The song at the beginning is Welcome Christmas (AKA Dahoo Dores) which is in the original animated version. It's commonly called the Who song since the Who's sing it. I love that VP incorporated a part of it into their version. Great reaction as always!
My husband just got me a new speaker set for my computer, and this is the very first thing I've listened to on it. FYI, I'm referring to the woofer as the "Geoff speaker".
Glad that you enjoyed it, Dave! I think it's a fun and different arrangement, putting that "VoicePlay spin" on it. The song they started with is the song all the Whos in Whoville sing on Christmas morning, even after the Grinch stole all the decorations and presents.
@@grantburgessoutdoors9063 he hit's an Eb1 in the middle-ish part of the song, since it starts off in the key of Eb minor, but towards the end they key shifted up to an E minor, which matches up with E1 on the ending.
Yay, so glad to see the reaction to this! They are so clever, and it is so enjoyable to see them having fun. And they still kill everything about it. BTW, Adriana is only 16 years old! Isn't that crazy? I was shocked when I found that out.
Yeah when I saw this, it reminded me of a bunch of bros letting their kid sister hang out with them. And that isn't meant as a negative, in case someone tries to say it is.
They credit the make up company in their credits. But most of the guys worked at Universal Orlando where they have Grinchmas. I'm not aware of any of them being in that show specifically but I'm pretty sure their Grinch was one of the Grinch performers in the stage show. Plus they used the prosthetics in the show and in Seuss Landing during the Holiday season.
I'm always amazed at how easily Geoff slides up and down, in and out whatever register he wants. Like Tim Foust with Home Free, they are ridiculous in their range and talent. I absolutely love that look you get when Geoff gets down and dirty with those low notes. I know my jaw drops even when I know it's coming! I listen to the same song over and over and am still amazed every time.
If you've never heard it, I highly recommend the Small Town Titans version of "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch." It's the grungiest version I've heard and my absolute favorite of all time.
Thanks for the reaction! Their version of this song is amazing! And the low notes by Geoff are 🔥😍. Btw. Please react to Backtrack Vocals ( my 5th time recommending them )
I've been subscribed for awhile but I'm pretty new to Voiceplay. The one I've watched most is Hoist the Colors. I don't know if you've reacted to that song, but it's pretty good! Thanks.😊
Yo Dave I know this video is 2 years old but you gotta react to small town titan cover of this song. Wanna talk about dragonslayer and range check them out my guy.
This is already my favourite version of this song. VoicePlay have just got it, y'know?

@@ozthegreatandpowerful468 the version on spotify/itunes is just them singing. They cut the beginning of this video off for it :)

7:40 yes you’re right!
@6:50 the high part is the same as Oogie boogie
Yes, but in the Mr Grinch his voice becomes smoother. He becomes better and better in every video
Adriana was in their frozen 2 medley I can’t remember if you reacted or not
Let’s just acknowledge the fact that they 100% one uped pentatonix
Nope not at all

Totally agree. VoicePlay's is by far much much better!
Fun fact! In the Oogie Boogie song he hits an E1, but in this song he his an Eb1 (which is lower)
The ending note is still E1, which is what he's talking about I think, so he's actually right!
@@AC-ks4cd I'm pretty sure it's an Eb1 but I'll check my piano again

What great fun this video is. Great reaction Dave
Great job Dave. You's the man bro
That was the same note from Oogie Boogie. I always enjoy your reactions, thanks for this! Just made my day.
I actually believe it was an F1 not a E1
@@Thatguy-te6tk He hit an F#1 right before he hit the E1
You should definitely react to their little mermaid medley!

I enjoy watching your vids, your smile is really infectious that I just have to smile too.
He actually hit a Eb1 which is lower than the E1 he hit in Oogie Boogie😅, super IMPRESSIVE
This makeup is the exact same Grinch and Who makeup they do for Universal Studios, so yeah it's pretty high quality stuff
Awesome reaction my guy
I love this Song
Another great reaction!
Geoff is the second coming of Thurl Ravenscroft, the original singer of the song (and also the voice of Tony the Tiger)
