Just finally caught this episode, absolutely love it! I love having you do a general Q&A now and then, extremely informative and a lot of fun to watch!
Since you mentioned fishing with plastic explosives here is a little Louisiana, USA fishing story. Boudreaux, a Cajun living in south Louisiana took an old friend fishing in the swamp. The friend now worked for Wildlife and Fisheries Commission as a game warden. After a while of not catching anything, Boudreaux reached in his tackle box, pulled out a stick of dynamite, lite the fuse and threw it in the water. After the explosion, as he was gathering the fish his friend went off on him about the abuse of their friendship. How he was going to be hated by everyone for arresting his best friend while they were fishing. After a while of listening to his fiend’s rant Boudreaux reached into the tackle box, got another stick of dynamite, lite the fuse and handed it to his friend, and ask, “well now, issa you gonna talk or issa you gonna fish?”
Wildlife and Fisheries has such an appalling reputation for encouraging hunting and doing so little to help wildlife, I am surprised the Official wasn't the one selling the explosive.
samlol23 Yes, unironically. If she didn’t like his personality and he didn’t like her personality, he didn’t have to marry her, just keep ordering her from the agency.
m but to him to like her, they must’ve been compatible on some level. He must’ve been having a good time, good conversations, mutual understanding etc. It’s difficult for escort to fake since a billionaire is used to everyone trying to suck up to him and rip him off. Of course we don’t know, and it’s possible she just married him only for his money, but I wouldn’t be so quick to exclaim that this is for sure what happened. It’s quite possible that the attraction was mutual.
@m, Sure she may have faked it and played a game just to get to his money, similarly how some men only pretend love to have sex. But I wouldn’t be so sure as to proclaim that “if he wasn’t rich she wouldn’t even go on a date with him”. Being a yacht owning billionaire is on a different level than rich kid who inherited it or won a lottery. The guy is immensely powerful, manages probably thousands of people, must have been very smart and had very strong character to accomplish it etc. Being the person who risen to the top of the game is attractive in itself.
Like many others I seemed to have randomly found your channel but am enjoying it. As for the nuclear yacht question while the terrorist angle is a valid one considering the quality of fuel such a small reactor would have to use I would think the money alone even for the type of person who can won a Super Yacht would be more limiting: Materials of construction. You need shielding which is heavy so normal yacht hulls probably won’t do. Special licensed and trained crew. The reactor itself would have to be licensed and inspected regularly Normal shipyards couldn’t work on it Most ports wouldn’t let you enter. If you can afford an Super Yacht you can afford a lot but I think the cost to build and operate it would tax even them. From one of you other videos there are several systems I can think of that would be classified as anti-missile systems but may not be classified as “weapons”, chaf, flares, laser and radar jamming, as well as materials of construction of the hull. So I guess a Yacht could have what someone refers to as an anti-missile system onboard and not technically be armed depending on a whole lot of very confusing international laws.

As an owner of a 31 foot sailboat - I saw "The World" in San Diego some years ago. It is a very clever way to live - as I like to think of it as a condo purchase. A condo that moves from city to city. Wonderful idea.
I met a divorced Canadian trucker a few years ago who had a 45' sailboat he had bought dirt cheap in an auction, and he told me that every winter he would fly to Florida where me kept it, and then sail it around the Caribbean for three or four months, picking up women along the way who want to party their way from island to island. He said he always had at least one hot chick walking around his boat topless or buck naked. Every port of call, some would come and go, and by the time he put it back in storage, he would've had a good dozen or more traveling with him over the winter, with no strings attached.
Thank you for doing these. Very informative and you are very well spoken and personable. One question would be about the engines; how large are these things? And the fuel storage has to be massive.
When I worked on cruise ships as Casino Manager, I used to literally pray for rough seas, my first Atlantic crossing from Lisbon to Ft Lauderdale ànd we were in a storm for 4 days, we had 27 ft sea and the spray went over the entire ship we had 27 Windows were broken, I absolutely loved it.

Good answer on guns on US flagged vessels. When port hopping around the US Caribbean ports (Florida to Texas), or slightly up the Atlantic coast, you can carry just about any firearm. Machine guns are legal in the US in most states (and all of those), so long as you have a federal “tax stamp” for it and acquired it from a person with a similar tax stamp (which are $200). Costs for machine guns are $10k - $100k depending on model, but if you can afford a super yacht you can afford a machine gun. Cannons, rifles, shotguns, etc all have significantly fewer restrictions and can generally be purchased and carried out immediately, though cannons are obviously hard to find. States in the Northeast (generally anything north of DC) restricts possession of guns heavily, including in port, so as a general rule you don’t want to carry anything when going there. Non-machine guns can generally be taken so long as they remain in an arms locker, but machine guns are generally prohibited. Moving to the Pacific coast, California falls into this rule, while Oregon and Washington are mixed. Alaska is generally unrestrictive. There are no general exceptions for Americans or US flagged vessels to carry guns to any foreign ports, though almost every nation has an exception process. Mexico, for example, allows guns to be imported for hunting events which must be arranged through both the hunting lodge and federal police. It’s not hard to do if you have the money to pay lawyers to make it all happen, but not something that can be done on the spot. If you bring weapons into a port without the right arrangements made in advance you can expect to be detained, so if you’ve accidentally done it, turn around and leave immediately to reduce risk of being boarded.
Many of these owners are ultra rich, but also time poor. It takes a week or two to cross the Atlantic. That time could be spent doing something else... like running their companies, attending business meetings & conferences, going shopping in Monaco, meeting other VIPs & heads of state, playing golf, etc. Let the help sail your yacht across to Barbados, while you go to Davos to rub shoulders with Bill & Prince Charles. Then the day before it arrives, you take a first class flight or private jet across...
Yea...I'd probably do it once or twice, but pretty sure it would become tedious....unless ofc your boat is filled with some of those "escorts" he was talking about)
This was great ! Informative as per usual. Can you comment on Ecstasea side swiping the bridge in St Maarten yesterday and the fire in Miami? Interested in your views.
i am watching this and i dont even own a rc boat, but it is pretty cool to learn some of these things, and he seems like a straight shooter about the yachting community,
Always enjoyable to hear the validity of the story from the storytellers who have existed and experience the story themselves. Not only we learn the fact and expand our understanding of life, but it is well worth the times and data spent on the truth, for the sake of knowledge. Thanks Captain! 👍👍
This was an excellent Q&A video you answered so many questions that I would’ve asked this was just such a great video you read my mind thank you for posting this
Brings back memories of working for a South East Asian Royal Family and some of the very fine looking "escorts" knocking around. But some interesting questions well answered. There are a lot of "super yacht" channels now but good that we actually have a knowledgeable person with 19 years experience to answer the questions. Great channel.
Great channel, Question. How safe are these Superyachts in bad weather with their huge glass doors and windows? as opposed to ships with small portholes and stormproof high sill watertight doors? (sorry don't know the correct term, I'm a landlubber :)
Along the lines of the “escort....” question I would also like to know about the “drugs” situation onboard a super yacht. I bet it snows all year round
A friend of mine who has captained various yachts says that drugs are not as prevalent as you may think. Remember all those random boardings and inspections? Well if law enforcement finds drugs, they will seize and impound the yacht. That’s an expensive price to pay for some drugs. At least that’s how it is in the US. In places like Indonesia, you get the death penalty. Don’t know how it is in international waters...
Edwin Park Boats dont generally get inspected in international waters, its only when you enter national waters. And yeah drugs on your boat is a very bad idea, if you get caught you could be tried for smuggling. And you'll most likely lose your boat since its considered the tool for the crime. Whats more likely is that drugs are used on-board while at port. And then everything is cleaned when its time to leave. Then get new drugs at the next port. Carrying them with you would be dumb as fuck
I found your channel a few days ago because you were talking about the current war in Ukraine. Since then I’ve watched a few videos, they’re fascinating! I’m learning things I didn’t know I wanted to know! Extremely interesting and well presented
If you're payin' 20K per month for her to give you the girlfriend experience she's your girlfriend. Unless ya wanna introduce her as "My assistant."--wink, wink--. Heh, heh.
As a Louisiana native, I've heard of fishing with bow and arrow, spear fishing, trot lines and so on, but the question about exotic detonations gets my mind churning.
Super interesting you’d purchase an apartment on that liner. I’ve known about it for some time now. I must say you did a comprehensive explanation of how a hooker is booked buy the rich. A lot longer than most can handle. Your descriptions were/are very cordial for the meek. I envy your past experiences.
also, they will position themselves up sun of you in other words.. you would have to be looking into the sun to try and see them ie.. you won't they're very "tactical"
In America, in every state. You can hire woman or man to make pornography movies. So basically prostitution is legal in every state, as long there is an additional person recording. Things too know!
Enjoyed it alot. Thankyou. As for that cruise ship/Yacht, I've seen a video about it. The people who live on board together once a year plan where they will be spending next year visiting. It's a great way to see places and be at home the same time.
They're called extremely "expensive girlfriends" that will hang around as long as the money, clothes, gifts, etc... keep coming their way. Cut them off of these "gifts" and they'll move on to the next "buyer." And they're a little like a Pro Football Player - they have a pretty short career because there's always a younger, less beat up replacement ready to take their job.
True, but compare that with the costs of having a wife. They expect money, clothes and gifts as well. Now throw in healthcare costs....and alimony if she's turning you down and you want some sex. You can lose one of your houses (in the case of these ultra rich guys) and so much more to include your kids. Hell, renting it is FAR cheaper than buying it when you factor in all the costs. AND, if you rent it, you know you're going to get what you want.....every time with the pro's.....
Hey, just a little correction about guns on superyachts. I used to have a 30m yacht (2005 - 2008) and did at times have shotguns on board. I'm unsure if the laws have changed but back then so long as the owner was licenced and the secure storage was known/approved by the country that the yacht was registered in then it, back then, was allowed (and might still be allowed). The gun safe was put in during build and was virtually unfindable, the vast majority of the crew did not have a clue where it was despite it being hidden in plain sight in my cabin. The reason for the guns was to shoot clay pigeons (there was a manual trap that a crew member could operate). I always shot while we were underway and away from shore. The guns would always leave the yacht with me when I departed back to the UK.
Smart solution. Against armed robbers you always have the right to defend yourself. On every yacht there must be possible ways to hide such safety stuff I think
there must be plenty of illegal guns on boats, i cant imagine any reasonably wealthy person just subjecting themselves to whoever while on a floating kidnapping advert
@@nycbit7386 these guns were not for defence, they were for sport. Although I have to say I don't think guns on boats (for sport or security) is common at all, certainly not in Europe. The boat never left Europe when I owned it but if I were to have had her sail through a risky area I'd definitely hire a professional security team for that period (if the captain/insurance recommended/asked for it). The way I see it is that if you think you're a target then you should have a close protection team anyway to manage that risk for you.
I agree re purchasing an apartment on The World. Been on it many moons ago. I love the way each year's itinerary was unique & generally spend a few days at each port so one could explore the region.
learnt a fair bit here! quite the sailors life you're having! thanks for the insight. im gonna check out more of your content. curious about incidents with piracy on the high seas! you said there are no firearms onboard. how to the billionaires fend off the scallywags?
You've mentioned in previous videos that yachts are required to broadcast AIS, but I often see that many do not, particularly those owned by Middle East royalty. What are the requirements or reasons why a vessel may or may not broadcast its AIS location?
Same privacy is required for private jet crews. I always tell my friends that if you see me at the airport and ask me where I’m going, know that if I tell you anything at all, I am going to lie to you.
In your opinion and interiors aside, which company consistently produces the best quality finish to their yacht builds when it comes to exterior fixtures & fittings including equipment to operate them?
I can answer the Sub question: Most yachts are too small to get the interest of a submarine. We used to do practice attack runs on large merchant ships but yachts we generally just ignore except to make sure we don't hit it.
What do you mean" not hit it" was your captain drunk most of the time. Super yachts dont have a a deep draft like merchant ships do. Average sub operations when submerged is 20 meters. If im not mistaken. When operating on the surface subs have a watch. Super yachts aren't the size of driftwood. So I'm confused when you say make sure we didnt hit it. Btw most explorer yachts and chase boats have 1-2 man subs. Just saying.
The answer to the nuclear powered yacht is very informed and smart. I live in an area of the US with a Navy presence and quite a few 'nukes' veterans ['nukes' or 'nucs' -- pronounced 'nooks' -- is USN slang for nuclear power ratings]. Many of these men are my friends. The 'dirty bomb' scenario is the one most often discussed by them in general terms. Either that or if a trained nuke sets the power plant to melt down and scuttles the ship. You'd kill a bay and spread radiation on the tides.
As I was watching this videos my wife walked over and asked me why am I watching this videos when I will never own a yacht? I bet an escort would never ask a question like that. I need an escort, forget about the yacht.
Nope - never.... Sell the house...??
So your wife's a realist? Get real with her :D

Very patient of you to answer all questions irrespective of them being relevant or not.
i am watching this and i dont even own a rc boat, but it is pretty cool to learn some of these things, and he seems like a straight shooter about the yachting community,
Always enjoyable to hear the validity of the story from the storytellers who have existed and experience the story themselves.
Not only we learn the fact and expand our understanding of life, but it is well worth the times and data spent on the truth, for the sake of knowledge. Thanks Captain!

So the term "boats and hoes" seems to be like an actual profitable idea.. 🤔 Hmmmm
Maybe they're talking bout the navy lol
Brings back memories of working for a South East Asian Royal Family and some of the very fine looking "escorts" knocking around.
But some interesting questions well answered.
There are a lot of "super yacht" channels now but good that we actually have a knowledgeable person with 19 years experience to answer the questions.
Great channel.
Great channel, Question. How safe are these Superyachts in bad weather with their huge glass doors and windows? as opposed to ships with small portholes and stormproof high sill watertight doors? (sorry don't know the correct term, I'm a landlubber :)
Thanks so much! Very informative, as always😎
First time viewer, impressive info here, thank you for you insights and experiences! I am sure you make an intriguing dinner guest!
You RocK! Thank you. Merry Christmas.
That was a fabulous Q&A session. Nice to know how yachting works.
Although I doubt that one guys name was really "Ben Dover", sort of Bart Simpson joke.
Along the lines of the “escort....” question I would also like to know about the “drugs” situation onboard a super yacht. I bet it snows all year round
I have 20 words for snow - like an eskimo
kate bush has 50 words for snow
Richard Patton snows all year round especially on women’s breasts and arses
I have no idea how youtube brought me here- but I found this super interesting

Enjoyed it alot. Thankyou. As for that cruise ship/Yacht, I've seen a video about it. The people who live on board together once a year plan where they will be spending next year visiting. It's a great way to see places and be at home the same time.
This was a very informative and interesting video. Nice work!!
Have you ever had electrical malfunctions rendering the GPS inoperable leaving you to sail with charts
I truly enjoy watching your videos everyday. Can you do a video on yacht building or show a yacht build?
They're called extremely "expensive girlfriends" that will hang around as long as the money, clothes, gifts, etc... keep coming their way. Cut them off of these "gifts" and they'll move on to the next "buyer."
And they're a little like a Pro Football Player - they have a pretty short career because there's always a younger, less beat up replacement ready to take their job.
She not yours, it’s just your turn.

Any captain worth 10 cents would simply refuse! If they want a prostitute they need to hire one. I have no problem with that.
Great video. Very entertaining. Even some humour. 👍👍
You have a plethora of information. Thanks, very interesting.
Dispatched! 😹
That sounds similar to thrown overboard.
Zakir Anderson 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 on to the next one, says both haha

Maybe Lurssen or Feadship. Yachts are usually of the highest possible quality
Ben Dover, what a legend😂😂😂
I can answer the Sub question: Most yachts are too small to get the interest of a submarine. We used to do practice attack runs on large merchant ships but yachts we generally just ignore except to make sure we don't hit it.
Cool
