Hi Tim, I've got a question for you. I just replaced some rotted sill plates and rim joists on my house, due mainly to an un flashed ledger board for the deck I am re doing. My question is when I removed the vinyl siding to expose the work areas, I noticed the rim joist had no tar paper or any other vapor barrier covering it. Why is this, and should I put tar paper on before reinstalling the siding? The exterior sheaving was some sort of tar paper covered light weight fiber board. My house was built in the 70's. Thank you!

I wasn't there the day the crane arrived to hoist that bad boy into position. I wasn't about to drive back to that house - it's a long way from where I live, to just get the shot of it sitting on the roof.

I'd be interested in seeing a photo of the cupola on the roof, once it gets up there.
@BereanStudent Ventilation and it's a decorative feature. Much like a steeple on a church, a cupola draws your eye to the structure.
Nice job 👍
@countryviews Be patient. You'll see probably a video about it.
Was hoping to see it in place. : )
