For the first time in my career I've finally had a load that was completely refused and told I had to be rescheduled without the chance of being worked in.
Five different employers over the years, and the dispatchers mainly wanted you to be anywhere but where you were & make runs that were just impossible to deliver on time. I do some quick math to point out that I couldn't meet the customer's demands due to a deadline or HOS. I got the same version of 'get as far as you can.' They'd have a solution en route. I called about an hour prior to needing to stop. Again at 30m, 15m, 5m, and stop safely and wait for them to call me. Really pissed off the dispatchers when I reiterated the same issues I had faced as I approached the cut off of on-time/HOS.
I felt the same way with dispatch when I was doing the Walmart account in Cheyenne. There have been times they don't tell me important details until its either the last minute or its too late.
Ive never seen a delivery time say 11:59 and that means first come first serve.. it's always said FCFS if it was. If it was 11:59 I would have been there at 11:30. Excuses are like buttholes, everybody's got one and they all stink
Sounds like CHRIS WARTEN at Focus Logistics....ibsaid he had the opposite of the midas touch....hed have a gold load,and it would turn into shit within minutes after pre trip
that literally just happened to me last month in New Jersey because I was 30 minutes past the deadline for my appointment, which led to a chain of events that left me out and California where I got stuck for 7 days😡😡😡
Point being if you are constantly apoplectic about your dispatchers, we may not have control over our load choice with a certain carrier after we have CHOSEN to run for and are unhappy We can CHOOSE to dispatch ourself ie. Landstar, schneider ic, ect. You decide to run for them and it is what it is. Complaining about your dispatchers is concomitantly complaining about your CHOICE. Which you have complete control of. Hence it's you who you should be perturbed with For CHOOSING that company.
We run into things like is a lot we drive for CR England. We get Walmart loads that if you late you get charged for, but yet your going to change the time. Ugh! So I know what your talking about. Love your videos btw.
that's Marten but that KW is also heavier I saw your old truck at the detroiter you park next to me back in August then I ended up getting towed to freightliner for 2 weeks regen problems that is when I tried to see if you are just a keyboard Rambo like Vern and both of you blocked me on FB...LOL
Welcome to large fleet trucking.... your just some means for making money! You want to get back to the real trucking.... own truck have authority and be your own boss! At least give yourself the fighting chance to have a say in your career! Trust me its worth it!
sounds like you have ex used car salemen dispatchers. seems like alot of companies are offering a part time driver positions where you can set your hours but you loose alot of benefits but still make twice the rate of a walmart worker...
IMHO If I was your DM and I saw this video, you would sit all the time. I would make sure you got nothing but crap loads. I have followed you for a while and I see that your anger is your own worst enemy. I wish you all the best. However, I think you need to look at the ways you are to blame for the problems you have. As someone who have been a safe driver for seven years, you should be able to drive for anyone. Good luck.
