- Another big list of games have leaked online from a database similar to what happened with Nvidia a few years ago. Sony is set to release a first party game on the Nintendo Switch and now we have some answers as to why.

Horizons Legos makes sense on the Switch as it's more kid friendly, and currently, there aren't many new games for the system.

That now makes all Jak & Daxter games available on modern console
They are already available on PS4 and PS5 they are 14.99 or 8.99 on sale each on the Playstation store. Jak X racing is there too.

Horizon is a Sony first party IP but it's the LEGO part that sets the setting, tone, gameplay and it fits better on a Nintendo system than a Playstation one traditionally speaking. It's not that complicated, but people think still through console war lenses that they hate each other and would rather die than have their IP on rival systems, which is not far off from why people freak out about Xbox games on non Xbox systems (not including PC).
I just think it's crazy that Lego horizon isn't on Xbox. That's special hating haha

When it comes to ROMs the saying stays true nothing is ever really deleted from the internet there will be a backwater site somewhere or somebody has a Google drive filled with it just waiting ROMs and emulators will never truly disappear if you know where to look
Absolutely they will never be deleted from the internet. However right now it’s fairly easy to acquire any rom. It’s best to go ahead and grab what you want now

Lego Partners with different ips I don't see a issue with this it be no different if Lego partners with Microsoft and make a halo Lego game and put on switch or Playstation
But if Nintendo partners with LEGO to make a Mario or Zelda game, it would be exclusive for their systems

You just reminded me that the ports with the version that has Spirit of Justice released like at the beginning of the year that I was waiting to get on the Switch but forgot about. 🤣 it was the only one I didn't get to play on the 3DS and I think the last mainline one that's ever come out. Now I gotta see how much it is on the store and maybe wait on a sale.

Very excited for Visions of Mana
The mere fact that a niche JRPG like the Trials of Mana sold over 1 million copies goes to show Action RPG’s are not to blame for FF7 Remake and Rebirth low sales numbers. People clearly enjoy it a lot.
People clearly have an appetite for action RPG’s, so hopefully Vision of Mana sells well to warrant a remake of Dawn of Mana.
@@cbgg1585 I’ve been binging the Square Enix back catalog for the last 2 years. Never really played there game before then. Since May 2023 I have played and platinumed FF1-10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2, 16, 7 Remake/Rebirth, Crisis Core, Type-0, and Strangers of Paradise. Currently half was through Lightning Returns and next is FF15 and then I have played and platinum all FF games. I’ll then start my FF14 journey. With a Mana game in between each expansion until Visions of Mana comes out. I always plan exactly what I’ll be playing. I play a game to completion (platinum trophy) then I move onto the next game.
FF14 is just a long awaited game for me to play purely because I played the trial last year in April 2023 and I loved it. But decided to play the entire series before going all in on FF14. Can’t wait because I’m almost there.
Mana games are pretty solid. I think I played only the last one and finished it. Then I played the small one and for me it felt better than the main game but I got stuck on a boss and I had to leave it but Visions of Mana look pretty good esp the combat.

Rebirth and ff16 sold enough to a make profit but did not meet square’s expectations and were disappointing.
However, Rebirth and remake have already earned their development costs and have made a profit, and Sony’s investment of money, developers and resources certainly helps. But square were hoping for sales numbers the same as GoW, TLOU and Elden Ring which are huge. FF as franchises is just not as popular as it once was. Square were being unrealistic.
rebirth, as a part 2, was never going to sell as much as remake which was very successful. Rebirth will sell more on the pc release and when part 3 releases. The reason rebirth did not sell as much as square hoped has been debated to death, but it isn’t a failure and the story isn’t over yet, since remake was a success, and those players can always come back for part 3.
@@makasete30 Square has a history of putting unrealistic sales expectations on games and are normally always disappointed when it doesn’t work out. Nier Automata was low budget and didn’t have high sales expectations yet is one of Squares best selling games of all time for the company. Absolutely love the Nier games. Just imagine Yoko Taro making FF17 that would be amazing. He has experience with the final fantasy franchise because of his work on some of the FF14 Shadowbringers Nier storylines.

I don't get what the big deal is. I have both a PS5 and a Switch, and I'm interested in the Horizon Lego game, and given the choice, I'll always buy the ps5 version. In fact, I'll only buy Switch games if that's the only console I can get them on. I prefer the performance of the ps5, and I rarely use the switch as a handheld device. Ooh, and BTW, a Lego God of War game in this style does sound like fun.

Almost sounds like they need to make some kind of public domain rights/laws for games that reach a certain amount years (maybe 20) if the ip owners no longer sell the game to the public.

I got the ATV/Lords of Dogtown PSP bundle. Didn’t care for the ATV game but it did introduce me to one of the best movies that’s ever been made.
The Sony guy used a lot of words to simply say, "We want kids to play Horizon and then ask their parents for a PS5 for Christmas"

If devs of Lego Horizon has time, money and skills, there wouldn't be a need for graphics mode, just 4k/60 with ray tracing smooth rock solid performance! I believe the PS5 hardware is powerful enough to handle the Lego engine with ray tracing effects. Hoping it will be the case for Astro Bot - another Perfect Casual Game hot on the heels of Ratchet & Clank Future A Crack in Time.
I wish they would keep some of those codenames for games.
Dino Crisis remake in the RE Engine could be really scary if done right. Hope Capcom remakes it.

The zelda randomizer is one of the most popular mods on twitch, if nintendo is taking that down then they are completely out of touch and incredibly ungreatful for all the free advertising streamers are giving them...
Nintendo is on a power trip right now. It happens with every company -- Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft -- when they get in the lead in console sales. At this point, I honestly wouldn't mind if the Switch 2 tanked somewhat, just to bring Nintendo back down a peg or two. This is why we need competition in the console space, which is why I shake my head every time I see someone comment that exclusive games are bad for gamers. While I enjoy getting Xbox games on PC, I'd much rather Microsoft make their games fully exclusive to Xbox consoles again and really compete in the console space to knock down Sony and Nintendo a bit.
They are getting even more exposure ans advertising taking those down. Messing up with some creator work is cons idered unethical and menial compared to creating some thing new in Japan. It is degrading and humiliating. I mean I know your answer would be weird but how would you feel if you worked on a painting and someone comes and changes something. Wouldn't you find it insulting?

Except a randomizer is absolutely legal.
As long as the streamer owns the physical copy of the game, and it's not in active use, they can absolutely play a mod on top of their legal backup.
A randomizer itself is not illegal. The rom they are using needs to have a labor user license for use. That's all. Which is done by owning a copy of the game.
I wonder if Sony making Lego games for their big ips something they'll continue on into the future. Take their existing stories and characters and make them Lego. Once the game is finished, they can put the game on PS4/5, Switch and Xbox. Being that these games are smaller and since they'd use the same stories and that theyd be on other consoles i can see it doing well.

I could care less that a game comes out on another platform. I prefer options, especially more opportunities to buy it on a sale when it’s sold out on one platform. Plus it’s not like I’m getting paid to stick to a console nor do I have a stake in the company nor do they care/know who I am. I’m in it for the game and having fun, too much life happening to be an extreme gamer and too much backlog.
Seems to me Sony should embrace releasing many of their past games on Nintendo’s mobile platforms going forward. I want to continue to play Sony’s cutting edge stuff on Sony’s high powered flagship hardware, knowing someday down the road it could be visited again as a rerelease on Nintendo’s mobile platform.
I feel like this happened with Gforce now a while ago as well.

I could see why Visions of Mana is out so soon. Unlike the other Mana games, it's just a spinoff similar to Legend of Mana and Children of Mana and not a mainline game like Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana. In Japan it wasn't even call Seiken Densetsu 5, probably is just a 20 hour spinoff with multiplayer co-op.
3D Mario game vibes are what people said of the VR one so, welcome to the fun. Game got charm af if it keeps up the good from the VR one but I wonder if they can squeeze enough content value in for, replay-value that gets not just us "this was good, I will play it again" types back in.
They should do some thing like Yokaalaylee for replayability. Mix up the levels every time you go another time. Even Demon souls Remake did something like this.

I got that PSP bundle too it came with a memory stick, Daxter and a UMD with a collection of Family Guy episodes.
Dragon Age 4 has been in development since like 2014. The 3rd game came out during the generation change from PS3 to PS4. They've clearly struggled with direction, and something tells me that we are going to see a big mixture of ideas, none of which are going to work well.
Man if only one of the remakes/remasters we could get from Capcom would be Onimusha Collection. Man that would be awesome. Just like they did Devil May Cry HD Collection.
Not to burst anyone bubble about the Astro Bot cameos... But the different PlayStation characters DO NOT GIVE YOU ANY POWERS.
Actually, all of the different cameo astro bots are treated just like any of the other random Bots that you are rescuing.
Each level you rescue a handful of bots, just like the previous game. And the cool looking PlayStation character bots don't do anything special except for look cool.
Kinda disappointing for me, I was expecting at least something unique from each one of the characters when you find them.
I think a lego star wars or indiana jones or batman with the same animation as lego horizons would be a huge hit😮

there seems to be a lot of doubling up at the end of the year. Star wars outlaws comes out the day after visions of mana, Astro day after stalker 2, Silent hill 2 and diablo 4 DLC on the same day, then 3 days after that methaphor and DB sparking zero on the same day....
And we don't even have dates yet for quite a few 2024 slated games. End of the year is going to be rough on the wallet.
Dude how can you say that about Titanfall 2 when that and the first were fucked by EA from the start by getting placed in between cod and battlefield with an EA exec quoted saying battlefield and titanfall fanbase don't overlap.
Still got my silver PSP-2000 and Daxter bundle. I had to go on eBay to get the game case and slip cover for Daxter, can't just have a loose UMD floating around in its little paper sleeve. I think the movie that came with it was a Family Guy one with 3 or 4 episodes included on it. The PSP-1000 bundle had a Spider-Man 2 UMD included. Still got that bundle as well, box and all.
Half of the commemts are talking about Dino crisis in the other half is talking about how much the hate nintendo.

Nintendo like to buy toys. Lots of them judging by Amiibo sales, and the Horizon Lego line sold really well.
If I had to guess I'd say Sony is more after the toy market than the game market and letting Nintendo fans get aquainted with the cool readhead chick that hunts robo-dinosaurs for fun and profit is part one of the plan.
I had the red God of War PSP came with the GoW chains of olympus and the movie Superbad.
As an early adopter of both the Switch & Steam Deck, I hate being told everyday how games would look great on an OLED screen. I know they would, and its a painful reminder lol 💀

Skies of Arcadia and Okami were also good games that sold poorly. Okami shut down a studio.
If the performance of this horizon Lego game is similar to the skywalker saga on switch, it’ll be a pass for me on that console. 2 player is so choppy and the loading times are terrible. I’ll wait for a sale for this one.
I said it when it happened the fact that Yazu went down so fast without a fight was gonna be the death of everybody else. Let’s pray somebody somewhere stands up for the consumers and fights Nintendo on this, even though I don’t see them winning.
The latter part of this year is shaping up to be pretty good for gamers. If we get Prime 4 for Xmas on top of Astro and doom I’ll be very happy.

I would like to see a Dino Crisis games that takes the more modern view on how dinosaurs looked and makes it work. I want feathered dinosaurs to be terrifying murder birds.

Not really into Lego game stuff but Horizon makes more sense doing it that way over the rumored Monster Hunter online stuff clone with the IP and how the fuck can Lego force them to put it on the Switch? It's Sony's IP, you can't force them to do shit,like how a 3rd party can't force Nintendo to bring over there IP's on other platforms or be used in other games. This was the agreement that Sony wanted and no telling when development even started, could have been 3 years ago.

It seems more plausible that is was just a business decision, because LEGO games seem to sell well on Switch. I doubt Sony were forced, they could always not go through with the deal if they thought it disadvantaged them.
That's a good point. It is Sony's IP. So, they're in control of it. If we are to say that MLB forced Sony to put MLB: The Show on other platforms, then we also must say that Sony isn't forcing Lego to keep Lego Horizon on PS. That makes sense in terms of who controls the IP. It's the same as Disney not forcing Sony to make the Spider-Man and Wolverine games for other platforms.
@@G360LIVE With that Sony owns the rights to Spiderman. I think it was sold to them in the 00's when Marvel wasn't doing to great at one point. Don't quote me on that, you'll have to look and see but I could have sworn they are the rights owner to it. Not sure about Wolverine though, that might be a partnership between both parties.
@@NuiYabuko I see it as a good thing. I want more ppl to play stuff like this on whatever platform they choose and it not be locked down to one thing. Kinda tired of the locked down box stuff. It's unsustainable with big AAA costing hundreds of millions and taking years to get it out the door. I think everyone should be doing cross platforming with there titles, it'll help try and squeeze more money and make more revenue and get more fans. Heck there is no telling what will happen in 10 years to think locked down exclusives will be sustainable. Everything changes eventually and I do like seeing partnerships like this and getting it on other platforms, even though this isn't a several hundred million dollar game but still. 😂 Maybe we'll see more games from Microsoft and Sony ported to the next gen Nintendo console. Who knows, if only Nintendo would stop thinking they are oh so great and stop being greedy and do more partnerships for something like this with Mario or Zelda or even Metroid. I don't like the Lego stuff but I would play the f out of a Lego Metroid game but only if it were on PC. 🤣 That will definitely not happen though. Or maybe it will, they say they are an entertainment company now and not a game company and they have showing that with licensing there IP's for theme parks and movies. So maybe they will branch out into even more stuff in the future that's beyond just games and maybe do more partnerships with IP's to be used in games outside their ecosystem.
Imagine a LEGO game based on a horror game like Resident Evil.
I don't know why people are upset Nintendo has what 130 plus million units sold, it's not like this game was going to be a system seller for Sony.
This is a family-friendly game most LEGOs are and they are decent games.
Sony has nothing to gain but millions upon millions of Dollars.
This will probably end up being one of the highest selling switch games that Nintendo didn't release.
All that money that can go back to Sony it just makes sense who cares what system it's on.

I hope we have a Megaman Renaissance and we get multiple new Megaman games. In that poll Megaman X made it in the top 10 for the West and Megaman Legends made it in the top 10 for Japan. I would love to see new entries in both of these series. Not to mention, the Megaman ZX series ended on a cliffhanger and we never got the 3rd game. Come on Capcom!!
A Mega Man game I don't see a lot of discussion on is Mega Man Command Mission. I had fun with the game and played that game until completion when i first came out. Was it not a game that was well received?
I also got the Daxter PSP bundle, in fact I still have it. The movie it came with was the Family Guy freakin sweet collection.

I'd like to get horizon adventures in my ps5 thats where Ive played the other two. However... getting it for my pc and having the option of playing it on my steamdeck sounds like the way to go.
