      +marc sene So far she hasn't....I know my way around a piece of rope....Handled it all my life....People ask me all the time to make knot videos but there are so many on youtube already.

    The life of a fisherman, Keep dumping money in the ocean and hope it all comes back and a little profit would be nice.

    How many years do you get out of your gear ?

    • @CaptJohnsBar
      @CaptJohnsBar  8 років тому

      +krazy45cat Hard to say....Fishing hard bottom takes a heavy toll....Mud bottom is easier on the gear....There is gear loss from other boats props....Gear loss from asshole fishermen....With all that figured in, rope lasts three or four years, traps around 7 to 8 years with any luck !

      +Capt. John's Bar Iwe used to always see ghost traps in the Keys where someone cut the line or a boat prop cut it .Plus like you say other fisherman . I hope you have a strong season , Gerry

    *I saw the title and thought you lost something worth $10,000.00 over board. once i saw it was just new lobster traps it was a little less dramatic i instantly started to feel bad for you at first though thinking it was an actual loss that you'd never get back and couldn't for the life of me think"what the hell does he have on that boat that's worth that much"? glad it's just the gear*
