i personally think that this is a very good tutorial especially for people who are new to cosplay! your way of explaining things and using the paper cut out was cute and interesting too XD great job kaika! this will really help a lot! =D
this was THE BEST fuku tutorial ever. it was so easy to understand and i FINALLY know how to do it! your way of explaining and showing was so cute. thank you so much! ^_^
Thanks a lot for these videos on how to make cosplay costumes. They're very helpful. Love them!! By the way, your pronunciation and accent are not lousy, they are cute!! Lana :o)
Hi ^^ 1) you can try buying a white shirt if the size & everything's okay 2) the purpose of the white cloth is so you can sew the collar onto the shirt. You must have it =)
Ah! You're amazing ^_^ Both this video and the one for the Haruhi skirt helped me alot!!! I have *limited* sewing skills, and it was easy after watching this ^_^ Thank you very very much!!!
@pinay0201 You have to cut 2 identical piece of the collar, then sew the edged and fold them inside out so those frays (little pieces of string) will be sealed inside =). It is mentioned in the video
Princess Hours soundtrack, nice! I love that show. :) Thanks very much! I have to whip up some Sailor Senshi outfits in a hurry, and this has been very helpful. Thanks again!
Hmm. I figured there were other techniques out there... a vintage 1980s sailor shirt pattern, the collar lining actually goes all the way around (so semi circle for the neck and a V for the front) and the front ends of the collar are actually tucked under the raw edge of the shirt collar. The lining all around protects all of the edges assuming the shirt was made from scratch. Also can just hem the 3 sides instead of sewing and turning rightside out... Your method is good for Suzumiya, though.
i'm making a Kagamine Len costume! and this is what i use as reference!!! pretty awesome!!! thanks! your narration is sooo cute! and the paper models are so creative!
Oh! So sorry for the late reply! The white cloth isn't interfacing but it can work as one. To clear you doubt, no, the white cloth does NOT go inside the collar. It is outside (on top of ) the collar =)
@KaimanaHaru0 The white flap goes over to where the body is. Its inside the shirt. Scroll down to read the other comments. Some users have already asked the same qs
i made a tohru honda sailor fuku with this, i changed the sleeve length and i made the bottom of the top longer and changed its shape, but overall i found this video very helpfull - thankyou!!^^
@KyeAdron If you look at her costume you can see she doesn't have poofy sleeves but it still looks great. But if you still want poofy sleeves, sorry I don't know how to make them. I would guess that you would bunch up pieces of the sleeves as you sew on the blue and red thing. I can't be sure though. If I find out I'll get the info to you. ^^
Oh elpheal/Kaika. Your so awesome ^^ cosplaying is soo much easier because of you!! =DD I love all your cosplays!!!!! =D Thanks for alll the awesome tutorials!!
I hate youtube's new comment layout x-x. So I'm not sure if I've already replied your question or not but here goes. The "U" shaped white cloth is sewed on top (and outside) the shirt. The key is AFTER you sew the collar with the white cloth and shirt , you FOLD the white cloth into and behind the shirt.
Hmm? Do you mean the collar onto the white shirt? Well, after you sew the collar(along with the extra white cloth) on, youshould fold the white cold back underneath the white shirt's collar. That will hide the seams perfectly.
@yulxlover4 Hmmmm if you meant the 'white U shaped collar piece' then yes, it is attached to the blue collar. but they are 2 individual pieces by itself and only sewed at the end........... oh no...I hope i'm making sense
@puppy4me07 Are you talking about the 2 collar length at 2:59? If so yeah, those have to be a straight line. The semi circle on the final spread out collar is supposed to be a little bigger than 1/2 your neck circumference. I guess you can figure things out from there =)
Thank you so much for this! I''ve been subscribed to you a while and i'm currently making a Highschool of the dead uniform this comes in really useful!
OMG! I'm so glad i found ur vid! Me and my friend are going to a convention and i needed a sailor outfit for it! XD Ur vid will help me alot in making the shirt!
lol yeah that works. It also comes in handy for costume parties ^^ my dad took me to a convention last year, and hopefully again this year, so I'm totally searthing for a costume because last time I did Haruhi but I dyed my hair so that's not gonna work now ^^ so yeah, Rin is one of my only options :D
ohmy I really do not like to comment on videos, but this one is so cute and helpful :D thank you very much i even had fun watching it :) hopefully i can sew my cosplay with this :)
Haha my suggestion is to get a loose fitting tshirt (or any suitable clothes you can find) and a short pair of pants to gauge for yourself how you would look if you were in a costume with such cutting. It's never accurate with just word description alone =)
Haha I'm glad you liked it =)! Hope you can make the many costumes you hoped to do!
that tutorial now has helped me for 4 years of cosplaying & going back to this video every now & then is really helpfull. Thank you, Kaika :D
Thank you so much for this. It's easy to understand and because you use paper examples it's easier to grasp what to do.
loviebeest thank u!
i personally think that this is a very good tutorial especially for people who are new to cosplay! your way of explaining things and using the paper cut out was cute and interesting too XD great job kaika! this will really help a lot! =D

Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much for posting!! The paper cut-outs really make it easy to understand. Can't wait to try it out =D
The sewing machine drawing is named "Sister". I like your humor. It's a parody of the popular "Brother" sewing machine. :D
i can't believe u played 'perhaps love' for one of the songs!
loved it
and loved the tutorial
It's hard to find stuff that fits someone as small as me and it's kinda expensive to get it done custom so thank you for making this :D
Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it ^^.
Glad to help!

@inuneechan1 The U thing is actually just another fabric to help seal the ugly edges that is formed from the edges of the shirt + collar.
Princess Hours soundtrack, nice! I love that show. :)
Thanks very much! I have to whip up some Sailor Senshi outfits in a hurry, and this has been very helpful. Thanks again!
@raven1119 thanks for the comment :) Song is "Perhaps love" bye Howl & J (i think). Its the theme song for the Kdrama, Goong.
Nice and the little clothing template was just to cute
this tutorial helps so much with the measurements i would of never known :) thank you so much! You are awesome
thank you so much ive been wondering how to make the flap part of the uniform this explains a lot, thank you so much!
Thank you SOOOOO much! Your tutorial was really helpful. You are really good at explaining what to do clearly. I really loved the paper cut outs too!

Thts actually a really smart way of showing how to make it,nits kawaii and I understand it much it better than people literally making the costume
Thanks SOO much! This helped me TONS when making my Haruhi Suzumiya cosplay!
Wonderfully done! This is exactly the kind of instructions I was searching for. Thank you very much for posting this!
Oh! So sorry for the late reply! The white cloth isn't interfacing but it can work as one.
To clear you doubt, no, the white cloth does NOT go inside the collar. It is outside (on top of ) the collar =)
ah thank you so much! I never really understood the part with the white cloth until now ;D
@KaimanaHaru0 The white flap goes over to where the body is. Its inside the shirt. Scroll down to read the other comments. Some users have already asked the same qs
Thank you so much!! I'm cosplaying as Suzumiya Haruhi soo, and I was lost on how to make the collar, thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!! ^^ I wondered how to make one for cosplay and my mom said she'll make one for me for the first day of school!
OMG. This video is so helpful and at the same time fun to watch! LOVED IT, and because of that I subscribed!
And my long....long journey of sewing begins. Sigh...good thing I knew how to sew :D btw, awesome tutorial!
i made a tohru honda sailor fuku with this, i changed the sleeve length and i made the bottom of the top longer and changed its shape, but overall i found this video very helpfull - thankyou!!^^
Thanks for the comment =) You made the hardwork worth while =)

=DD I love all your cosplays!!!!!
=D Thanks for alll the awesome tutorials!!
@Anime0x0x Collar length = the length you want your collar to be . It is NOT your head circumference =)
This is such a cute and helpful tutorial!
Hehe , your method of doing your cosplay tutorial videos is adorable ~ And yes it is understandable & easy follow , imo ;3
This was a very cute and good video! It made a lot of sense and if I ever make one I'll be proud to say it was with your help :]
Sorry for the late reply X-x;;;
I personally recommend cotton or polyester cotton. Pardon me if I got any of the fabric names wrong =x
Hmm? Do you mean the collar onto the white shirt?
Well, after you sew the collar(along with the extra white cloth) on, youshould fold the white cold back underneath the white shirt's collar. That will hide the seams perfectly.
Awe, if I found this video before, it would have brought down the cost of my Haruhi cosplay. Awesome tutorial, by the way ^_^
@cccc010 I didn't cover that portion (sleeves) as it is pretty easy to figure out without any tutorial
Hahha np!
Will try to upload the tutorial about the skirt soon....
this is such a cute way to make sewing tutorials!
I'm glad you liked it ^^!
Check out my newest video on how to make a Suzumiya Haruhi Skirt too if you're interested!
@yulxlover4
Hmmmm if you meant the 'white U shaped collar piece' then yes, it is attached to the blue collar. but they are 2 individual pieces by itself and only sewed at the end........... oh no...I hope i'm making sense
this was adorable as well as helpful... and the paper sewing machine was funny....
Pokemon references ftw! xD
Great job!
Wow! Cat boy + sailor suit sounds darn interesting XD Good Luck!
thank you very muchh
@98fandublover flat fabric? well, yes, you make the shirt first then add the sailor collar
Hehehe, The Pikachu head part really helped me out! Thanks! :D
@puppy4me07 Are you talking about the 2 collar length at 2:59? If so yeah, those have to be a straight line.
The semi circle on the final spread out collar is supposed to be a little bigger than 1/2 your neck circumference. I guess you can figure things out from there =)
Best tutorial ever!!!! I'm so glad I found it ;-;. Thank you very much, you are amazing!!!
Thank you so much for this video!!!
It really helps me everytime when I forgot a part.xD
@yoruikuto Just a few inch more. depending on how comfortable you are with the 'enlarged circumference'

I love the little doll as an example! Kawaii~
Hey! thanks for the comment ^^!
This is the most helpful tutorial ever
Thanks actually made one and it turned out great! I give my thanks to you!
Thanks for the comment;3!
it basically cleans up the inner edges so the collar looks naturally attatched to the shirt instead of added later.
Happy to hear it helped ^^;;
lol yeah that works. It also comes in handy for costume parties ^^
my dad took me to a convention last year, and hopefully again this year, so I'm totally searthing for a costume because last time I did Haruhi but I dyed my hair so that's not gonna work now ^^
so yeah, Rin is one of my only options :D
Thank you SOOO much! I used this tutorial to make my Kagamine Len cosplay! You are amazing!
@luvulotz24 No worries babe, its a 'bias tape'. try googling it for pics =)
THIS SONG!
Ah I was totally trying to guess which drama the song was from, thank you! I love Goong too!
I can't find any other tutorial on the sailor fuku ^^ yours the best ^^
@DanChunSeahz18 yea...they are essentially the same
@tweety9102 if I can get someone else to help me with the annotation, I would gladly do so. But for now...I have other projects to focus on
Thanks this helped so much for my Rin Kagamine Cosplay!
If you look inside store bought clothes and look at the seam. See how there's fancy stitching? That's overlocking (same as interlocking)
A fantastic and innovative tutorial! Amazing! ^^
ohmy I really do not like to comment on videos, but this one is so cute and helpful :D thank you very much i even had fun watching it :) hopefully i can sew my cosplay with this :)
You are adorable! This tutorial was extremely helpful.
Thank you so much
This is really helpful, also your accent is really cute! owo/
Thank you soooo much!!! This will help sooo much with my angel beats cosplay!!!
Haha my suggestion is to get a loose fitting tshirt (or any suitable clothes you can find) and a short pair of pants to gauge for yourself how you would look if you were in a costume with such cutting.
It's never accurate with just word description alone =)
can you do a tutorial on a school ribbon or bow?
ahha!
I love the way you draw!
Very clever ne~
wow that was really nice..it helped so much now i can do it yay^^
btw it was really well made with the paper^^ and cute XD
Haha I've cosplayed before but I have apparently never made a sailor fuku in my life so thanks for explaining things to me c:
