Glassk, T O U C H P U R P L E, and Shrock are my favorite things he can identify. It's crazy how much of a vocabulary african greys have, own birds of my own and they aren't as cooperative as yours. love the content keep posting!
I've noticed that Apollo's accuracy seems better when it's a female (i.e., Tori or a female researcher) asking the questions as opposed to a male (Dalton). I'm wondering if you guys also noticed this and if you keep data around his accuracy and different variables affecting it?
Your new cage looks very similar to the one we have I purchased from King Cages. Approx 1200.00. it took a couple 9f weeks for my Conure to be willing to go in it, but once he made the transition, it was fully accepted as his home and the old cage was no longer co.fortable to him Tbe difference in your new cage and our King Cage is the door handle and purches on top.
'Apollo come here' nods reminds me of when you're having a conversation with someone who isn't listening to what you're saying but just going through the motions to placate you. nodding along when you don't know or care what someone is talking about
might be confusing for him because they are multi coloured especially Wario so which colour is the right answer? he usually is asked what colour single coloured objects are.
Wonder if a uv torch when teaching colours would "colour" how you teach and help you see how Apollo sees the world ? Just a curious thought? His colour perception is likely more complex than the human eye. So differences to us may be much more subtle/different in his world. Kudos to you both for how you are expanding his vocabulary, comprehension, and verbal expression though! He's doing such an amazing job translating human perception and language into bird language/perception. I love how you tube and social media are allowing you to dedicate your lives to learning more about parrots capabilities!! You are all amazing, birds and humans alike. Keep up the good work flock! 🦜 🦜 🐦⬛
I don't see the icon next to Rusty's name anymore, are they no longer a mod? :( (if not, still appreciate their help answering questions!) edit: i see now they're not but a mod's presence was missed cause man were there some weird/annoying chatters
I mean I just tried using my tongue to pronounce "Musk" and the "Mario" and while it may not sound perfect without lips, i have no idea how saying Wario is any easier. I still can't "Kaw" correctly though.
He's got ''metal" so it's probably just a case of he hasn't learned it. and at this point, it's so close to Wario that it'll probably confuse him. But that's just a guess
@@apertureonline9566the thing is that their lips are in their voice box, they have a syrinx not a larynx which is even better at sound reproduction than out system, so theoretically they can reproduce pretty much any sound!
I want that "doot doot" as a ring tone lol.
Not much is keeping you from it
@XDarkGreyX True. I just need one good doot without as little background noise as possible.
me too now 😭
My 6yo son loves your birds
My 34yo self does too haha
2:29 Dalton asks if Apollo can do big bird and he nods, he isnt wrong
Omg yes a bird asmr video would be so fun! I actually fall asleep to these streams bc of the good vibes
Great session, I learned so much. I have a female Timid African grey for 17 years. Very intelligent ❤❤❤

the two little ladies, Ophelia and Soleil, are Caique parrots!
I live for the Doot doot. Long live the doot doot
Fans, please fill me in. Whose idea was it to get the chaos incarnates known as the caiques sisters?
Also, my heart melted at Soleil's "toot toot".

Have you ever asked Apollo what colour wario or Shrek are? I'm wondering if that could help him distinguish between them
might be confusing for him because they are multi coloured especially Wario so which colour is the right answer? he usually is asked what colour single coloured objects are.
He doesn't know green, brown, or yellow yet, so the only colour he could answer is the purple on wario.

I missed the live. Have wanted to ask you when you first got your birds did they fly into the windows and/or how did you prevent that?
Wieviele Pistazien isst Apollo denn am Tag?
Did you make the wooden perches?
We made the short one we're using on the coffee table, but the huge tree perch we bought.
How many hours a day do you spend with Apollo?
I think Dalton said that Apollo requires non-stop attention every waking hour of every day!!
DOOT DOOT
DROAP
I MISSED THE LIVESTREAM NOOOO
Btw at 6:57 Soleil did a little dance :D
Piss patch🤭
Why can’t Apollo say Mario? Is it because African Grey’s can’t pronounce the letter ‘M’? Just wondering.
