Really nice review, thank you. Just some constructive feedback. I hope it's okay to leave this here... the sound of your microphone could be better. It is difficult to listen to on headphones as it sounds really abrasive and nasal. It's not your voice, it is the recording.
the low volume that you are experiencing with “old music,” might be related to tracks not having dolby atmos versions. your phone could be adapting non-dolby atmos tracks to dolby atmos, and is missing the dynamic range
I TOTALLY agree. These robots just say what every other robot says. They know dang well the AirPods Max’s are super comfortable!!! Even with the weight. You just can’t lean back with them. That’s my only gripe.
I guess they are comparatively heavy, being that they are something like at least 50 grams heavier than every other headset in this segment. 50 grams is hardly anything, but it might bother someone who is wearing them all day, but then again, it might not - depends on the person I guess. I think I'd be like you, it just wouldn't be enough difference for me to notice much - then again my dailys are Technics EAH-800's which are nearly hundred grams lighter than the Airpod Max, so maybe I would?
@@Beer_Dad1975 i use them everyday for at least 6hours or more a day everyday . I feel like they cant be heavy for the simple aspect of them not really being on your head but on your ears . Maybe im just different but i have tried other headphones that are definitely considered lighter but i could never really feel the difference in weight when they are on.
Thank you for the review. I have a couple of questions: 1) while watching Atmos movies and TV shows on iPhone/iPad will I get the Spatial Audio experience as APM/APP2? 2) while using at home with my Sonos Arc audio swap, will the 4 height channels be distinctive when watching movies on ATV4k or playing on PS5?
Yes. That's the thing and one of the biggest features that so many reviewers aren't pointing out. The Sonos Ace do Dolby Atmos an Sony 360 audio with spatial audio + headtracking on both Android and iOS. When using Sonos Arc TV swap, ANY device with Dolby Atmos surround sound, sending audio to the Arc is supported. So your PS5, Apple TV, even your TV provider set-top box is supported. Besides Dolby Atmos, the Sonos Ace can also virtualize stereo sound, upscaling it to surround sound (if you want). Explained here : ua-cam.com/video/xkqEgmyGL58/v-deo.html
@@user-dh6kg3kg7fthanks - to be honest it would be great if Sonos would introduce the option to virtualise / upmix input also in my Sonos Arc + 2 Era 300 + 2 Sub system. It is clear from the additional video you sent that Arc is doing the upmixing on behalf of the Ace!
Got my AirPods max since launch day, I don’t think there’s something on the market that will beat this beast 🙌 I will just stick to my Sonos home theatre when it comes to home entertainment 👌
Similar experiences, totally happy with mine, just the volume might be an issue. Having Apple devices, the AirPod Max haven't ever been on my list, due to size and weight. Pure Nogo. Before my new Sonos Ace, the B&W Px7S2 and Bose QC Ultra used to be my daily headphones. Sonos Ace beats them both in my eyes (and ears) . Stunning sound quality, best ANC I had so far, USB-C audio with charging the same time and that unique tv swap feature. I do like the built quality and the comfort as well. So, as mentioned before, the max volume level is the only thing for me, I would complain about. However, great package all in all and worth the money! Got mine with discount already.
@@renardfields2975no I am not! And I repeat, they sound way better than the Bose! Bose is quite average in general, the QC Ultra even quite disappointing. Good that I got rid of them. Had Bose a few years due to their compactness while travelling. Sonos Ace do many things much better. The sound ofc but also the button design and software is great. The audio swap with my beam works just fine. Love them!!!
They have a better battery life than the Sony's do, and at least most reviews I've seen say the noise cancellation is better, as well as the build quality. I'm definitely considering them, but I do kind of agree, my current Technics EAH-800's - well I'm sure the Sonos Ace would be an upgrade, but probably not much of an upgrade considering the fairly high price.
Many Sonos owner are angry, the ACE is not integrateable to Sonos wlan streaming zones. I don't say the ACE is bad, but it's just a "not cheap" BT over ear like others. The Sony XM5 costs half of the price and for the ACE money you get a class above, for example the "Bowers & Wilkins Px8" (street price)
It surprises me how a huge Apple fan like you still doesn’t get the porpoise of the AirPods Max Smart Case , it works like just like every other AirPods in the line up, you open the case and the AirPods Max are on and connected to your iPhone, easy and simple. I love the Smart Case no need to fold and unfold the headphones or adjust the head band to fit into the case, it’s just in and out . I’ve tried a third party big case with a zipper and a hard shell for mine but stopped using it very quickly, too many steps and it was taking a big amount of space on my backpack so I learned to appreciate the Smart Case and now I ove it .
The Airpod Max get good reviews from Apple fans, and not so good reviews from everyone else. I think they work well for those mired in the Apple ecosystem, but you can get as good in most areas, if not better for a lot less money. Also as someone else pointed out, would be silly to buy them at the moment as they are due for a product refresh shortly for sure.
Air Pods Max are simply way too heavy. When they clang together it is like nails on a chalkboard. Love the way they sound - but I sold mine and have these on pre-order.
The Sound of the video is horrible! Watch the one by MKBHD, he is not supported by the brands and gives an honest review. I mean the Sonos are like the pool robot, projector or toothbrush ads, not objective..
Sonos discriminates the Android users. First, you required an iOS device to set up the Audio swap between the Ace headphones and Arc soundbar. Second, even calibrating the Arc to your room requires an iOS device. Disgusting. Other manufacturers can provide their own mic for the calibration or just emit a sound directly from the soundbar...eg. Bose soundbars, Sennehiser Ambeo soundbars, etc. Actually I'm not surprised, as when I checked the box the usual 'Works with Android' badge which is usually there on every set of headphones boxes is missing. There is only a 'Made for iPhone/iPad badge.' Sonos simply hates and ignores Android users and losing a massive market because of this silly, discriminative decision.
Did you say you would have less buttons and do all of them in an app? That is such a terrible take. Why tf would i want to open the app for volume or anc control? Nope. Absolutely not 👎🏽 I thought I'll get some additional info from this video but that one comment made me close it
I’m not crazy right the audio in this video is bad

What about comparing them to Bose Quietcomfort ultra headphones?
I just love the new Sonos Ace headphones. I love their style, and awesome sound.

How does it perform with sweat🤔
does spatial audio work without their soundbar?
no
They seem so interesting! They even make me more stoked for the new AirPods Max
i have both and the airpods max still sound a lot better, the sonos are just more comfortable
I agree. They don’t compete in terms of sound
I’ve never understood people saying the AirPods Max are heavy or uncomfortable. To me they feel perfect even after hours of wearing.

Black Friday deals in the UK for £279 makes these a great pair of headphones. Yes, I am all in on the Apple ecosystem and have the AirPods Pro gen2.

Did you update the loud controls in the app? I’ve been told by multiple people that these headphones are much louder than the Apple AirPods Max

Apple, beats, and Sonos or Bose all need to pair up and make some dope products
Beats Studio Pro are straight up over priced under specced garbage - that's why nobody even mentions them in this market segment.
