To be fair I dont blame Amorim hes thrown the players under the bus before they throw him under the bus as they have done the last several Utd managers.
@@rednoble275 Ten Hag deserved to be thrown under the bus. In fact he was worse than Amorim. Amorim might have no idea how to motivate the team, but Ten Hag was lazy and only motivated them when he felt like it.

Nothing wrong with Jamie Carragher ....he said Haverts, Trossard ,Martinelli are not enough to win the title....he didn't say they were not good
arsenal are too slow in their buildup to be dangerous like liverpool, too wary to play through the mid channels taking a lot away from players like odegaard and the wingers. like pep, arteta is obsessed with `controling` games
i completely agree, them three honestly ain’t good enough to start for a winning team. they are mid table players and big clubs need to stop allowing mediocre players to keep playing. Only great players should be playing for great clubs .

Carra is correct. Any manager saying this will lose the dressing room.
You can't replace 25 players that quickly, so he has to work with what he has. Throwing them under the bus like that isn't going to help.
Jurgen Klopp inherited a squad consisting of Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Christian Benteke. All of these played lots of games in his first few seasons. He would NEVER criticise his squad publicly.
Those players weren't necessarily bad but they weren't amazing either....however as Average as they were, they didn't have stinkers for over 10 years and voted their managers out....
But they were not of man united quality and never performed the same way united player are performing united players are full of disgrace
Kloop knew he couldn't count on these guys in the long run and that they already were crap.
These players in Manchester United had or have great potential and should've work more. So yeah, he is throwing than under the bus to see if they can finaly react after 2 years dead under Ten Hag.
He wasn't throwing them under the bus. He was stating absolute facts. Anybody who has the slightest of football knowledge knows he was right.
Okay, lose the dresssing room then, cant get any worse than it already is.

Klopp told average players they were better than how they perceived themselves.
That got him performances where they at least held a high work rate.
Telling them they are rubbish is definitely not something he would have done.
And Arsenal's front three are weak for a team trying to win the Premier league.
Loosing Saka has shown that.
That doesn't mean its impossible for them to do it with that front three.
But thats an area even their own fans would admit to need strengthening.
Goldbridge saying the Martinelli, Trossard, Havertz comment is incorrect, then listing no Saka replacement (surely Trossard and Martinelli) and no out and out striker (Havertz was signed to played through the middle) as reasons for not winning the league is laughable

Manager saying his team is rhe worse team. Is wrong. Because players will turn on him
Perhaps Arteta should consult Mark for advice on what Arsenal need to do to win the league!
I agree with Carra. I think it is bizarre that the manager would say that. Think about training. If you're a player and the manager is giving instructions are you listening or are you thinking, "What's the point? He doesn't think we're good enough to do any of this anyway. He thinks I'm a sh*t player in a sh*t team. He expects us to lose anyway, so what's the point?"
Surely the manager has to leave room for motivation... has to say "We are lacking in a number of areas but still have some quality. I expect if the team executes the plans well, then we can win some games and can improve until we are able to strengthen"
Utd have still spent money and bought some good players... players who should be better than Fulham, Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton etc players. A good manager should be able to do better with the players Utd has.
You are from the snowflake generation who don't want to man up and take it. You'll probably be crying because of my comment.
It is bleeding stupid having your Manager saying the squad is the worst when you need to get players out the door!
As if scouts and recruitment teams don't have backbones and can't evaluate players by themselves
Best example to date where fan content and fans in general just don’t get it. Fans just love it when managers throw players under the bus and are delighted when they see perceived strength from the manager when he is critical of players in the media. But history has shown, if a manager is critical of players in the media, players are so powerful and have such massive contracts, that it is the beginning of the manager demise. I can only imagine that dressing room, millionaires being shamed by a manager that has achieved nothing in their eyes, (Portuguese league does not count as success for a top manager) even Conte knew when he went off on one, that his days were numbered
Mark, he is not saying it's not the true he is saying don't say it in public!!!!!!

Carragher got it bang on and we've seen the same thing he has said from all the pundits on ESPN pretty much say the exact same thing. We can all see what Amorim is trying to do. The embarrassing part for him is that he's being so obvious about it that even these awful pundits can see what is going on. Only a Man Utd supporter who desperately wants Amorim to be the manager that fixes all this would argue otherwise. Amorim is just a poor man's Ten Hag. If he can't get better results because he can only play one way, you have a situation where he will just keep using the excuse that I need better players. How long is that going to take to get rid of every Man Utd player and replace them with actual better players, not different players??? That's why this doesn't work. Man Utd aren't Man City of early 2010's spending a billion dollars every window until it works. Amorim has to make do with a lot of these players or he fails. Simple.

He didn't say that, you are misrepresenting what him and Petit were discussing completely.
Petit point was that it's bad for morale for a team already being down, to make such a comment and that it's more useful to
have strong positive messages to improve the mood in the dressing room rather than kicking them when they are already down.
Carragher mostly agreed and he was maybe 15% of that discussion in total.
It's obvious you havent watched the segment.
I see both points of view. From a fan perspective I agree they would like the honesty. But I do think Mark has missed Carra's point. Its not that it isnt true. Its that he has given the media the comment to run with. It isnt Carra who is after the sound bite, its Amourim who has put a beakon on his players more than they already had.
What I find funny though is, Ralph Rangnik said this years ago and all the fans and media went in on him. He was 100% right. Many former players are saying the same thing, as they have experienced the impact of this stuff in dressing room. I don’t think you can simply discard that insight, even if you agree with Amorim as a fan. You can need to be real, but still shape how truth is spoken. That is levels of communication that define the great managers. Either he spoke to the players first, or he took a risk by going so heavy handed with it. As an outsider, it’s interesting to see what happens next…

Yeah but does Amorim want to take any of the blame or is he blaming his players? I find him very arrogant and he hasn't proven himself anywhere in a decent League yet and its no wonder why that United team can't play well, when the Manager says stuff about you like this.
I would argue that when Klopp first joined Liverpool, he had a far worse squad then this United team and he also had to dramatically change the way they played. But it was still obvious they were heading in the right direction. I dont see this at all with Amorim and United.
He strikes me as egotistical af. Not in an engaging way like Mourinho or an ingenious wacky way like Pep. Too smart and politic for his own good. Not a fan but it’s not my club, not my problem.
It absolutely clear that it is an ofd statement by a manager. I have never heard a manager say this before, so this makes it odd by it’s very nature
Agree with carra surely that comment is going to do nothing other than ruin team morale
Don't worry! Their unbelievable wages for playing crap football will cover their morale.
Your wrong Mark. A manager can’t say that regardless of how bad that team is. If he looses the dressing room then he will be the next one gone. Who can be on his side in that team to galvanise them after those comments? Is a terrible move from Amorim
Managers are totally fair to criticise their players but they too should be the first to defend them.
Mourinho would go as far as creating a diversion to focus on him instead of directly calling out on his players. That’s how you build loyalty. (Ok probably the Chelsea Jose, not the United Jose)
But point stands. If players are being openly flogged by the manager, good luck in getting the best out of them
Truth or not he shouldn't be coming out and saying that, that kind of talk should be in house
Amorim probably wants sacking, compensation and he can claim it's an impossible job, win/win for him. He will be out with comments like that...the tried and tested, "if you've got nothing better to say, then say nothing" rings true. Remember, this squad mine the summer acquisitions has won trophies. Yes, they are not good but kicking them when they are down isn't going to help.
If this is the worst Man Utd team in history then Amorim, as part of that history, is surely one of the worst managers? Losing 4 out of your first 6 home PL games because you are too stubborn to adapt to the team's strengths and devaluing players that you hope to move on doesn't seem like an intelligent long term strategy to me.
How can you blame the players
It’s ridiculous.
Top three most expensive squads in the premiership
1. Manchester United - £992million
2. Chelsea - £978million
3. Manchester City - £899mi
Lately I've been getting worried that I was agreeing with you more and more often, so I appreciated you releasing this video so we can go back to me laughing and hurling abuse at my phone again. Normality restored
Amorim is obviously hedging his bets. If results don't improve between now and the end of the season, he will go down as the worst manager in the clubs history!
You will then have the disastrous combination of the worst manager in charge of the worst team in the history of Manchester United!
Its ironic because youve taken both of Carraghers points out of context😂.
The arsenal one was a response to petit saying that his arsenal went on a mad run of games and ended up winning it and he was pointing out that they dont have the same caliber of players.
The Amorim one he was basically saying why give the media a soundbite?
Did you even do your homework for this one?
