Hundred percent agree that song is great! The beginning always goes so hard for me. People have round shoulders from carrying heavy loads and soldiers liberate them laying mines along their roads 🤘
I love the raw aspect of their 80's work. Wake up Dead is one of my absolute favorite tracks from that time, but KIMB has some truly insane riffs and leads on that whole album.

Man this really sounds awesome, love the small little details like adding a few notes here and there, or playing slughtly differently, it just fits perfectly
Wow! Fucking perfect! I always wished I could hear what RIP would've sounded like with Peace Sells or SFSGSW tone/style. You captured it perfectly, I love how you even completely changed the whole style of it in some parts (namely the solo) but still having it sound classically Megadeth. Amazing work!
wow if someone isolated that end solo and removed that first few seconds that give away that it’s holy wars, and asked me who played it I would guess it was a Dave solo. You perfectly captured that style and it has that little bit of signature slop combined with the combined groove in between fast parts. Fantastic job on the full cover
@@ali965 felt the same way lmao. The solo looks like a pain to learn. I just don’t really have the patience for myself to sit there and make up a similar one
i love how everyone ive heard play this song adds their own little flair with it. a slight bend in parts where a note would be played flat, a different note played here and there, it makes listening to this song so interesting when others cover it.
This is AWESOME!!! It really makes you reflect on the tone again when it is separated from that songs that you've gotten used to, so you can evaluate them in a totally different way. Man, you just made my day! Any chance for a video of how you re-created the tones? Cheers
@@ali965 That would be awesome. Your tone and playing is so good already. I think video of you playing would take your videos to an even higher level. Also video quality isn't super important, most smart phones do the job just fine. Audio quality is everything and you've got that down already!
I thought this song couldn't be more badass!! Freaking awesome, dude BTW, U should do a version using the Poland's solos from the demo version. Would be amazing
Your tone was absolutely amazing. Loved how you transitioned back into the fast tempo with the pick screeching with the overdrive at 4:38. Great stuff 👏
It’s not too far off from the Chris Poland demos. Those have the bass cranked up a bit. Honestly I wish the whole album sounded like this! I love Peace Sells! I love this!
I just wanna say, what an incredible experience listening to this was. PSBWB contains one of, if not my favorite mixes of all time. I know I'm gonna kind of sound like an old timer, even though I'm not one, but I feel that most metal mixes today all sound nearly the same. Guitar with scooped mids, bass line with fat lows, extremely loud mix, everything mixed perfectly. In one word, overproduced. That's not to say it doesn't sound good, it really does, and it was somewhat standardized, in my opinion, by one of my favorite bands of all time, Pantera, at least in part. Well, now that I think about it, it was probably largely Metallica, too, with the Black Album and onward. It's easier to provide an example than it is to explain what I mean; just listen to a Metallica song off of RTL and then listen to Enter Sandman or really anything off of the black album. But I digress. You did an incredible job with this, but praise alone isn't really doing you many favors, so if there were parts I were to criticize, they would be on the bass and the lead tone. That said, I can sort of sympathize and see why they might be particularly difficult to pull off. One thing I noticed on PSBWB is that the bass is very often more than just the bass, it's tone is more than just a cranked low end support for the rhythm, and one good benchmark that I think is unique to PSBWB and in part, KIMB, is that you can almost ALWAYS single out and hear the bassline on it's own. I felt like there were many moments where this wasn't the case in this mix, at least, not in the same way as with PSBWB's bass tone. HOWEVER, I feel that in large part, the bass line was used differently on this album altogether, compositionally speaking, where it just kind of followed the rhythm guitar, which may make it harder to detect? Nonetheless, I think the bass was almost perfect, but just needed a tiny bit more tweaking. I recommend opening the very beginning of Peace Sells on one tab, and about 25 seconds into Five Magics on another tab, to gauge the very minute but specific differences I'm talking about. Peace Sells base seems to have a stronger higher end? A lot of this seems to be equipment, and mostly pickup based, rather than mixing. The other thing is the lead guitar's tone. I'm not really too sure of what to say here, other than Poland's solo tone sounded... thinner? tinnier? If that makes sense? I can tell you know what I'm talking about, because you definitely brought the lead tone in that direction here, I just think you could have gone a tiny bit further. Whenever Chris is playing a solo on PSBWB, it sounds like he's playing on old, extremely thin gauge strings, with very little meat to the tone. It sounds like he could bend up 5 frets with his pinky finger lol. I think this is also very apparent in the solos on the Peace Sells song. Chris Poland's lead tone has always been very elusive to me, though, if I'm being honest, it's like he's playing a solo through tin cans with a string connecting them, and it somehow sounds good, lmao. I wonder if this is also a compositional thing, but I'm less confident in saying that here than I am with the bass part, because even when he plays the lower strings on PSBWB, he maintains that tone to a degree. I wanna leave this by saying, you clearly know a lot more than me, this is all the opinion of a layman. But, I would be lying if I said layman's opinions haven't helped me in things I know a lot about myself, so I hope you find this useful in some way! This is, of course, by no means me saying this sounded bad, it was NEARLY perfect, which is a LOT more than I was expecting when I saw this and figured "ah, another remix", the fact that you actually covered and recorded parts is extremely impressive. Anyway, hope you see this, and best of luck with future projects, you've definitely earned my sub!
if you would actually do hook in mouth with peace sells tone i would probably travel to another universe listening to it! and btw good job making this it sounds amazing :)
