When we first met the guys from Deep Sea Diver we were initially reminded of Jacques Cousteau and his crew. Always in motion, trying to discover the mysteries of life. Maybe this comparison sounds a little weird, but when you take a closer look, the French adventurer and the Göttingen based Indie Band have more things in common than you might think. It's not only the appearance and the characteristic hat. The music by Deep Sea Diver is floating through space like the Jacques' submarine was diving through an oceanic trench in the deep sea.

the line " It's the first time i was happy in my life" gets me everytime
I don't know what it is about this song but I always come back to it. It has this strange yet beautiful sense of stillness but also a lot of strong passion. I can't put my finger on it. But all I want to do it listen to it and walk down a cobblestone European street on a calm fall day. I guess this video puts that picture in my head but I find it the perfect background for this song

When I was young, another boy who resembled this singer became an outcast after his father opened up about his sexuality. Everyone in that close-minded town owes him and his father an apology for destroying their lives over nothing. When I watch this video I pretend the singer is you, grown up, happy and talented and it makes me bittersweetly happy. I wish your life had been easier. I am sorry for how we treated you.
