This video came up on my channel. I am Macedonian, and I'd like to say that with regards to the overly dramatised scenes such as at 3 minutes onwards, it is not the way Macedonians used to express a dance, but it began surfacing during the mid-nineties onwards for some reason. The way the overly dramatised scenes in the video happen in many modern Macedonian weddings and it is something foreign, it looks like a middle-eastern wedding scene. Macedonians dance the "oro", whether slow-paced or quick-paced, but real Macedonians do not overly dramatise things like something out of a middle-eastern wedding and that should cease. Another point about Macedonian weddings, is that there needs to be an accordion player present, something not seen much in weddings, something that was present in the past.
I must add, the big wad of money in singer's hands.... what are we gypsies?;) Modern Bulgarian weddings have more tempo, and more taste. I'm neither Mac nor Bul, but I must say, nowadays' tis less action, more alcohol, and showing off your economic status.... seljaci sho da praish....

This video came up on my channel. I am Macedonian, and I'd like to say that with regards to the overly dramatised scenes such as at 3 minutes onwards, it is not the way Macedonians used to express a dance, but it began surfacing during the mid-nineties onwards for some reason. The way the overly dramatised scenes in the video happen in many modern Macedonian weddings and it is something foreign, it looks like a middle-eastern wedding scene. Macedonians dance the "oro", whether slow-paced or quick-paced, but real Macedonians do not overly dramatise things like something out of a middle-eastern wedding and that should cease. Another point about Macedonian weddings, is that there needs to be an accordion player present, something not seen much in weddings, something that was present in the past.
