Japanese chrysanthemum flower show 2017

Please visit us at botanyboy.org/ In mid November one of Japan’s most iconic flowers blooms - the chyrsanthemum - known as kiku in Japan. Each year chrysanthemum flower shows are held across Japan and are called kiku matsuri. The show in this video was hosted by Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka Prefecture. A wide variety of flower types and arrangements were on display including large flowering forms, highly variable mid sized flowering types, potted mums, and even bonsai forms. They are something to see in person since they are the size of small dinner plates. These are the ones that the Japanese royal family's seal is patterned after.
