I'm not sure if you noticed, but you'll only heal if both your hunger and your thirst are full
This reminds me of that very old minecraft modpack where your spaceship crashed on a desert planet and you had to survive through very harsh conditions
Crash landing is the name of the pack. the temperature mod from the old mod pack is used in this pack, but hopefully less janky with the updates between then and now.

Crash Landing seems much harder than this though. Food, water, and temperature are actually a challenge in that, whereas they seem to just be a minor inconvenience (if that) in this pack

I wonder if you could make a cauldron with iron, slap three water bottles into it, bucket it out, put the bucket of water down, do it all again and make an infinite water source somewhat early... might not really be worth it idk how hard water is to get using the questbook method (or maybe this is it)
i got my water from village cauldron might not be intended but that what I did got resource generator very quick

A improoved version of Crash Landing
Things from farmers delight are very useful, they make great foods! Cooking pot especially. I love the mod a lot! You can do a lot with it including breaking armor down into the material it's made of so dozens of extra armor sets aren't as useless (such as leather armor)

Used to be you broke the block under cactus and it'd fall[but they made it work like trees now so the block stays]

I'm unsure if the hydration mod is the one I know but it may diminish regeneration when it's not completely filled.
If it's not full, there is no regeneration at all

Hey mate just want to let you know, water meter work just like food bar. Which means you can replenish health unless both bars are relatively full :)

Looks like a cool mod, I think I'm going to try it out. Another good trick for Cactus is to place a block next to it, similar to how auto cactus farms work it'll get destroyed.
I haven't played it myself, but I feel like breaking a cactus with an item in your hand, such as a block of sand or a dead bush stick, shouldn't damage you. I might be wrong though.

ohhhh so the creator of this pack played some terraria before making this. The cactus armor had me suspicious, but the extractinator really confirmed it for me.
There are a lot of Minecraft mods that are based on Terraria things. The cactus armor is from the Tough As Nails mod -- the one that added the thirst and temperature gauges -- and the extractinator *is* based on the one from Terraria, but was not made by BBL (or it probably would have been included in their Opolis Utilities mod).
although the extractinator is very clearly based on terraria's, I think the cactus armor is just a rebranded leaf armor(the texture doesn't look like cactus at all).

Its nice to see another desert pack, I just got set up on 'Forever Stranded' but I had to disable the heat system from tough as nails as the system is BS but hopefully better in 1.20
you need to drink to recover HP, also the video bluring near the end, it start around 45:30 for around 2 min
He did that with dirt between the 2nd level of cactus once it grew. (Pretty sure twitch chat pointed it out😂)

35:10 what's giving you Mining Fatigue its that the meteor genereted on the same place as a Pyramid dungeon (not the Desert Temple, its a bigger Pyramid)
When you get inside its area, you get Mining Fatigue 3

Badlands pyramids are FULL of relic scraps. Filled my inventory with them from just 2 so either we will need more later in the pack or they really arent a finite resource
35:01 oof, yeah. its the desert temple... MAN! How lucky/unlucky is that? to be able to mine there, you have to defeat the boss. otherwise you'll get mining fatigue all the time in there.

Well I guess I am not playing FTB Genesis anymore. Man this scratches my "Forever Stranded' itch.
Feel like I've seen something of you before but don't really recognise you. Anyway the modpack seems like a good and fun one and you're giving a nice vibe in the first 2 min, so I'll keep watching. I also see this already isn't the only episode of this series that's out, nice.
Edit: At the end of episode 3 in the endcard thing I got recommended first ep of your UniversIO modpack series, and I realised that's where I'd seen you before, I found that video around the time it had been uploaded, wanted to watch as it seemed like a really cool idea, but never ended up finding a time to do so before unfortunately forgetting about it, will make sure to do so tomorrow after catching up to this series' 2 remaining eps

It's interesting that deserts are 38°C average during the day yet get colder than 0°C at night
Sand cannot hold heat, it reflects it all during the day, which makes it hotter, and during the night, there is nothing absorbed being released, so they get very cold.
You can also add into that the lack of humidity and other factors too.

this modpacks brick blast furnace has interesting thing(may be bug but please not fix it). vanila blast furnace are double speed of blasting ore, and double speed burning of fuel.
so if you blast furnace with one coal, it just cook 8 item(like normal furnce), but only take 40 second(half time(nomaly one item take 10 second))
but brick blast furnce are double speed cooking but not double speed burning, so one coal it burn 80 second and it cook 16 item.
cactus armor looks leafy because that is reused leaf armor from tough as nails mod.

Hey, I was looking for something new to play. I think I'll grab this and play it also.
Apparently tough as nails is quite laggy underground btw, you should probably consider replacing it with “survive”. Chances are, I can’t post the link on here, but it’s on curseforge
here is a idea. Dig a two deep trench around your base. put trap door at ground level, open them. then the mobs with walk into them and not be able to get out. when you need to get out, close the trap doors and just walk across or jump over the one wide gap
Make it 2 deep and 2 wide, with top-side trap doors on the inside and outside of the moat👍.
Spiders (and accidental raid triggers) are a pain on flatworld maps😅

Would you recomend this one for a person who only plays skyblock packs have tryid to find a new pack but havent found eny good ones but this one looks good but it is not a skyblock so just wondering if you still would recomend it
I know this is a tangent, but why does it seem like every modpack that includes a death mod, the death mods ignore curio support? Is the API that hard to code for, or is it something personal? It's been well over a decade now and they still refuse to work with the mod, even tho it's highly popular in almost every modpack and the only modpack I know of that's ever had support has been Enigmatica (in which that created their own death mod for). I don't think it's an immersion issue because they're more than willing to auto equip your entire armor set. Really sticks out to me and I always run with keepinventory on or remove it from the pack because of it. Just doesn't feel right having to re-equip curios every time / not having enough space, when I actually do.
