Arrenado would be on an expiring contract and still give similar offense and better defense than Bregman. St. Louis would want something but are really looking to dump salary.
Goldschmidt would be a one-year rental for first base. It's probably not going to happen, but 2025 is the tough year for the Astros salary-wise. I think Caratini should platoon with Singleton at 1st in 2025.
People talking about war and ops etc...I want to know about RBI's. There is no offensive stat more important than RBI. I don't care about exit velocity, or expected stats. What does a batter do with runners in scoring position? That's more important.
We wanted guys that want to be in Houston. The Tucker trade and letting Bregman (the bag) go elsewhere accomplished that. All the new guys really want to be here.
Eh...I think I'd rather the Astros go full rebuild if they lose Bregman, then Framber next year. I feel like this team is similar to the 2006 - 2010 Astros. They had good players, could still make the playoffs, but not a contender. We could level the team (except Altuve), get as many top prospects we can, suck for a few seasons and draft well. It would be like the 2015 Astros again...or like todays Rockets. An exciting young team on the rise. Franchises go through peaks and valleys...it's best not to fight it when you know it's over. Thankful for getting to see the team succeed for so long.
Arenado is a 3 year deal. Bregman wants 7 years. I would let Bregman go unless he's willing to sign for 5 or 6 years. I would focus on Santander for the OF. Let Peredes play 3rd. Caratini play 1B. Call up Salazar to play backup catcher. Limit trades. We can't lose any prospects.
What's wrong with a cheap Carantni , Singleton, Diaz platoon at first I know you hey are catchers, but they all need ab's and a break from squatting, plus Salazar needs more reps and can also hit. I don't think we need an expensive 1st base only player. 1st base on this team should be like the DH when players need a break, but are too good of hitters to leave on the bench.
Arenado is a 3B and good batter and defender but… he will be 34yo by April. His age scares me, after Jose Abreu I’m not confident in anybody in mid30s.
I'm not trading good prospects. Profar is so far the best idea. If Valdez is also chasing the 10 year half a billion dollar bag, trade him for Nolan and a couple good prospects. But, I'd be trying to resign Valdez to a friendly deal for both sides. Santander barely hits over the Mendoza line and has bad defense so no 5 year contract at 20m per. I'd give him two years at that until we get a better hitter.
Arenado is very good but… he’s 33yo. So he’s gonna go downhill from now. As a 3B, he’s 3 yrs older than Bregman. Arenado will be 34yo by April. After Jose Abreu, I’m skeptical of signing any position player near mid30s. Be very cautious, Dana
As soon as you give a player the bag and the tean can't sign other players and compete, the greedy, selfish, spoiled player wants to be traded to the Dodgers or Lakers.
The Cards don't want or need Pedro Leon. It will require a 3 team trade. Astros send Valdez to 3rd team, 3rd team sends prospects to Cards, Cards send Arenado to Astros (and pay down some of his contract).
Eric was dropping bars all video.
You guys are the best I enjoy listen every morning on way to work. Keep it up stros fan for life go stros!
Nolan and the Crawford boxes is a match made in heaven
This is the best show Eric has ever had! He is on a roll today!!!
Thanks for the videos guys yall are awesome
Brett I looked at the defence between Santander is a bad glove but profar has top defence
Arrenado would be on an expiring contract and still give similar offense and better defense than Bregman. St. Louis would want something but are really looking to dump salary.
It’s a restructuring

I like the idea of Nolan arnado he cheaper then bregman put him at first parades at 3rd it gives u money to sign profar for left
Might require a 3 team trade that involves Framber going to the 3rd team and their prospects go to Cards.
Jake Myers’s and presley
Sign profar and give a Bryan dalacruse
Profar yes. We already have a De La Cruze in Tremmel that Brown said would get some time.
People talking about war and ops etc...I want to know about RBI's. There is no offensive stat more important than RBI. I don't care about exit velocity, or expected stats. What does a batter do with runners in scoring position? That's more important.
RBI's don't really vibe with the top or the bottom of the order guys, but the RISP certainly does. Always target those guys.
I say just pay Bregman man. Come on
We wanted guys that want to be in Houston. The Tucker trade and letting Bregman (the bag) go elsewhere accomplished that. All the new guys really want to be here.
Bregman loves the money more than he loves Houston
Can't pay a 33 soon to be 34 year old that much money. We don't want another Abreu.
I don't think he would fall that hard, but he does play a much harder position. Maybe he plays 1st base here?
Nolan would be a good fit for the Astros

Didn’t arenado say he’s willing to play 1st?
Why Profar? Doesn't he play 3B?
Well Issac Paredes can play first so I wouldnt hate this, but I hope they dont have to give up a lot for him.
I would sign Ha seong kim, then make a run for Santander or Teoscar

Santander on a short deal. Still have to fix 1st base
What's wrong with a cheap Carantni , Singleton, Diaz platoon at first I know you hey are catchers, but they all need ab's and a break from squatting, plus Salazar needs more reps and can also hit. I don't think we need an expensive 1st base only player.

Why Arenado? They’ve got Paredes, they should spend some money on 1B. Like Christian Walker.
Arenado is a 3B and good batter and defender but… he will be 34yo by April. His age scares me, after Jose Abreu I’m not confident in anybody in mid30s.
Walker will be too much and he's too old. Arenado is 3/75 (Rockies owe 10m) of that so 3/65. Walker will want 5 years or more.

This is going to be a long baseball season that will look a lot like 2014
Pedro Leon has no future here. Trade him for Arenado straight up. Work out the remaining money on the contract
The Cards don't want or need Pedro Leon. It will require a 3 team trade. Astros send Valdez to 3rd team, 3rd team sends prospects to Cards, Cards send Arenado to Astros (and pay down some of his contract).
It’s over
