    Whatup Fam! I provided links to all the bulk, loose leaf herbs used in the video in the description above. You obviously don't have to get these exact brands or herbs but it is a good reference point for what you should be looking for. Enjoy!

    I love cold brew tea. Sometimes if I'm using high quality tea leaves for a hot tea in the morning and the leaves aren't spent, I'll cold brew them the next day. I especially love oolong cold brewed. Stands up to multiple steepings.

    This truly is a great plan. It works for sure. I also do this everyday.
    At room temperature the nutrients aren't destroyed by excess heat.

    Guayusa is the close cousin of yerba mate but with more active substances than caffeine. If I could, I would drink Guayusa even over green tea, every day

    Cold brew tea is how I got through bins and tins of fruity teas 🙄
    A curious thing happens when folks find out that you “like tea”: you become the wide receiver of (often) cheap tea samplers for almost _every_ gift giving occasion☹️
    I know they say “it’s the thought that counts” and I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but, like, _what were you thinking??_ 🤨 and also, “please, stop”. Lol.
    For years, I found myself being gifted these random samplers which usually contained a few basic black teas, a couple savory and a BUTT-TON of fruity teas. As one who doesn’t enjoy hot fruity teas, but also can’t seem to throw away tea *if my life depended on it,* I’m thankful for a way to finally use up these.. ahem.. very _thoughtful_ gifts 🤗

    How do you always pick topics that I've already had stuck in my head for a while? I tried switching to tea but I really don't like the taste of the classic teas with caffeine so I went back to coffee... Do the ones you recommended taste somewhat similar to black/green tea?

    • @calumx
      @calumx  4 роки тому +1

      These teas taste way different, they all have a pretty unique taste. Honestly a huge key on the taste is squeezing the lemon in there. When it is so cold and hydrating and frosty it is such an amazing feeling in the morning!

    • @calumx
      @calumx  3 роки тому

      Thats something you are going to have to experiment with. Will depend based on what type of tea it is and how strong you want it to be. I am an eyeball type of guy. I would probably just make really concentrated 1 gallon batches and then dilute with water to get to 5 gallons.

    Never heard of cold brew tea, I'll definitely try this out, but no sugar right, just straight, like in a vegan restaurant here, but ya know ya get used to not having sugar in the tea or coffee.

    Would I be able to cold brew then boil the tea after without the taste changing? I don’t like cold drinks but I’m trying to get more antioxidants out of my tea.

    • @calumx
      @calumx  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I think you could do that. Although I wouldn't boil it. Just heat it up in a pan and get it hot, not all the way boiling. Good luck!

      I've read some scientific articles about Antioxidant comparaison between brewing temperatures of teas. It turns out that Antioxidants are more stable at lower temperatures but are extracted faster in hotter temperatures. So the best way is to cold brew for 12-14 hours. That way you get a lot more Antioxidants than the hot brewing method. You can cut time by hot brewing than directly putting it in ice. But it's completely unnecessary to spend all that time extracting all the antioxidants just to ruin them by boiling the tea after.

    I'm thinking about drinking more tea for the health benefits but its hard to drink healthy tea because it doesn't usually taste very good. so I'm interested in your way of getting this healthy mix so i can limit the amount of coffee i drink in a day

    • @calumx

      You can make so many different kinds of tea. I would recommend mixing tulsi and yerba mate for you. And if you add a lemon in it tastes really good. Maybe a bit of an acquired taste but I think you will quickly grow to love it.

    • @Coffeedad
      @Coffeedad 3 роки тому

    Will have to give this a try. I had to quit coffee a while back because the rollercoaster of energy I got became too much. Would feel awful without it! Maybe the cold brew tea will help this?

    • @calumx
      @calumx  4 роки тому

      Yeah for sure. You can even start with just drinking something like Tulsi that has no caffeine but is an adaptogen. It is also really easy to dilute and regulate how strong your tea is - so how much caffeine you are getting.

    • @calumx

    • @calumx
      @calumx  4 роки тому +6

      Lol no. Iced tea is tea that is made with hot water and then ice is added to it to make it cold. Cold brew tea is brewed over a longer period of time with cold water. It is a slow extraction process that leads to a completely different product.
