@@NiNjaTurtLe697 I doubt it, US government (or really any government) probably tasks someone/group to keep an eye on her and other defectors as they're likely targets of the NK government. I would imagine they have some number or something to dial for help as well.

Tell the government and theyll do whatever they can to trace where that call came from. North Korean agents try something like kidnapping you? Government can easily use that as a means to either go to war or put sanctions on North Korea. or in the future can use it as an argument in the event a conflict arises between your country and NK. These are just examples but the government can basically use North Korean defectors as bait for the north korean government.

When the pandemic happend PRK were able to close it´s borders more effectively, Now it´s maybe less than 100 who escape every year.
