I remember right before we premiered this work in Fall of 2017 that I had no idea what the title meant. So I texted Jamie very quickly and said “What does Permadusk mean???” He wrote back that it was the magic time between day and night, and that it passes too quickly-that he wanted to stay in that time and place. Couldn’t be said more beautifully. Jamie has been a frequent collaborator and a composer we are proud to champion.-JP
