You’re so lucky to have your sweet dad to help you! I find the most difficult part of starting young horses is finding a competent ground person to help!
What a gentle and just calm environment on training. It’s truly amazing to watch the responsiveness and eagerness to please. I was wondering, do you also train mounting from both sides?
Thank you. I do desensitising and groundwork from both sides but not mounting because honestly I’m so awkward mounting from the right, it’s like writing with my non dominant hand haha and I can’t think of a single time where I’ve had to mount from the right so it’s not a priority for me ☺️
Do you have any drainage or a membrane in your arena, or did you just put sand down? Just asking, as I'm on well draining sandy land and wondering if I could get away with just putting sand down on my grass arena? 🤔
What a little super star. Do you have a tip on how to build more stamina for the horse. I am currently getting a horse back in to work, after having a foal.
Lovely Holly. I know both your boys are amazing, and seeing you bring on a baby again, simply wonderful. This is your forte, calm, slow, and understanding. As an RVN, you would be my perfect vet, as this applies to both disciplines ❤
No hate! Absolutely love your channel, Im just wondering why you kick him every single time you rise? From the videos it looks like you are giving no release from your leg pressure. I understand its just a few videos and its hard to tell, but just thought id ask! Once again no hate just curious.
Hey, if you watch the whole video I explain that he’s not very forward and that’s why I start to hold a whip and there’s a big improvement after that. At the very start, he would have literally halted if I didn’t keep encouraging him to go forward.
Are you sure that the saddle fits him? Otherwise really nice work, i believe he will be a very nice horse in the future 😄 How much taller do you think he‘ll get since he is very small right now?
It doesn’t fit him perfectly but it would be very unusual for someone to buy a custom fitted saddle for a horse to be broken in. It fits adequately for the level of work (light trot and canter) he’s doing. He won’t be huge but he has some growing left in him. Maybe he’ll be 16 hands when he’s fully mature ☺️
Why he's moving his mouth all the time? He's only a baby and has to learn so much, but when he was spooking it was even dangerous, but you did very well 🥰
Most green horses are fiddling with the bit, its just getting used to different type of contact on the bit and calming himself down (as far as I know, I'm not very familiar with starting horses)
@@vogelvrouw i understand but why she don't look for a better bit, because i think he don't feel comfortable with this one. And i know and can see in many cases it's not so easy to find the good one.
@@joannesmartens9442 it’s a snaffle bit so it’s super soft for young horses and helps create a nice soft mouth some horses just prefer to fiddle with their bit to relax and get used to it similar to a child sucking on a dummy or you fiddling with your fingers
What a lovely young horse. You’re bringing him along so carefully and thoughtfully.
He's doing so well in such a short space of time. Well done Holly 🎉❤
Think the same. His outline already starting to change - glimpses of a promising future❤
Thank you ♥️
He is such a naturally well balanced horse, all of his gates are so beautiful!
Wow! He's coming along so beautifully! You're so good with horses, so quiet and gentle. I love seeing you ride! Thx for sharing!
So lovely. I watched it before but going back I'm even more impressed this time.
Dad if the year award! Your dad is so supportive I really like the passion you and your dad have about horses ^^
He’s amazing, I’m very lucky!
all that in just five weeks? that is insane! you are such an inspiration and keep on doing what you are doing!
He’s stunning, so much potential!
You’re so lucky to have your sweet dad to help you! I find the most difficult part of starting young horses is finding a competent ground person to help!
Yes I’m very lucky, it’s great to have someone on the ground that I trust!
Love this, could you do an updated video on how you lunge and teach them about the contact please? 🙏
He has a gorgeous swing behind, especially in the canter! You've done a great job with him.
aww he’s adorable and very sweet and gentle and I love how you treat him so well
He's so lovely!
This is so nice to see, definitely understand the wind 😅 I live in saskatchewan Canada and there's literally never a time when there's no wind
God I’m not a fan of the wind!! 😭
His shape is so gorgeous already. You are so very talented at this (because of all your hard work of course!).
Great stuff , super little horse , this was very Informative for me , you are very clear and sensitive with youngsters, . Wonderful
Yay he did amazing well done Mav and Holly 😊❤
Great job with him Holly. He looks so good under saddle because of you.
Love from California🏔️🌲☀️💙
Amazing to watch you develop him! ❤❤❤
Looking calm and capable, curious of course! What a lovely boy!
What a nice type he is. He will grow into a beautiful sensible horse
He’s too cool 😍 can’t wait to see what he can do
He’s going very sweetly; thanks for a very enjoyable and instructive video.
What a cutie, he’s doing so well ❤
You've done a fantastic job!
Hi I'm down in Kerry rn(because of family in a different county) very windy probably because we near the sea lol

I love him Holly, he’s doing really well
Lovely training and walk through your process. Is it common for young recently broken horses to be not very forward?
Yes I find it very common because they’re a little unsure. As they build their confidence, they become much more forward ☺️
Beautiful ❤
Your heels are an area of outstanding natural beauty . The national trust should charge admission to your heels ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hahaha thank you 😂
Looking so good 😊
Fab ❤
Holly would you ever do a groundwork video? Just showing what you do?
What a cute boy! He's a super mover!
Super!
He is so handsome!! ❤
Do you have any drainage or a membrane in your arena, or did you just put sand down? Just asking, as I'm on well draining sandy land and wondering if I could get away with just putting sand down on my grass arena? 🤔
There’s drainage, rocks and then membrane underneath the sand! ☺️
He’s doing great Holly your doing a fab job he’s a sweet boy. Tfs😎🏇😎
What a little super star. Do you have a tip on how to build more stamina for the horse. I am currently getting a horse back in to work, after having a foal.
Don’t rush it and lots of cross training - hacking, slow gallops, water treadmills etc ☺️
Hes only a baby ❤
Very good video you are very patient but please wear a body protector because if you fall off could course you some issues
As I'm watching 9:21, there was a big crack of thunder outside of my window which coincided with Mav's little spook!
Haha 😂

How long has it been since you started doing the beginning riding on concrete?
I’ve always done it, many years :)
How many stable do you have
8 but ones a tack room, one for feed and one for storage
Superd !!!!!!!
Change the bit

Oh I didn’t know you live in Irland same with me where is your yard
cute little mover! bring him to the US to do hunters!
No need to waste him on an overpriced fashion show
I think he’d love that! 😉

Every young horse fiddles with their mouth when they're getting used to the bit.
@@bethkennon9755 that seems a good explanation, thanks
