Hi Mary. Yes I was delivered first and then came off of my meds after. It felt like a part of a process of trusting in God and believing that He had a better life for me than how I was when I was saved. I can only speak for myself. I do believe that the Lord wants us to be free. We all know the devil tries to have us feeling condemned, but the Holy Spirit encourages us and leads us if we allow Him to. I think medication also affects our minds and emotions too and there is also the withdrawals as well. I had a close friend and believer who was an encouragement throughout the whole process too and I think that is also something we need.
I have also experienced deliverance even while taking medication for bi-polar. It is amazing to see and understand how the physical mental and spiritual parts of us are all so intertwined and connected.

Hi Amy. After I felt it right to come off medication I spoke with my CPN and my psychiatrists about it and they agreed as long as it was supervised. I think 6 - 9 months later I was told I was no longer in need of medical help. My CPN said it was a miracle.
I would also say that I owe the restoration of my soul and mind to only 1 cause and that is the truth and power of the gospel and the love of Jesus who is my saviour and the king of Kings.

I thought it was odd and after a little while they came back. I wanted so much to return to normal. A couple of years later I had the idea to ignore the hallucinations and delusions. It was hard changing everything I believed but I was able to stop doing the telepathy and stopped thinking I was someone great or someone bad and they all went away for good and never came back. They lost their power over me and I have been free from the torment for about forty years. I will be retiring this year.
I know that the medical world claims that this is a chemical imbalance, but what are these chemicals that are imbalanced, they do not know. People often have very different symptoms in their schizophrenia to others. If someone has a broken bone then the problem is easily recognised but because they don't understand schizophrenia then the label "chemical imbalance" is given as if that alone satisfies all the questions. People have experienced demons since the dawn of time. It's the ultimate gas-lighting, spirits drive people to craziness and then blame them, telling them its all in their faulty brain. Maybe your schizophrenia never caused you to encounter spiritual things, I don't know, but I do know that seeing demons is very normal in the schizophrenic community. The good news is that Jesus loves you and that the gospel can save all who call on His name, and these things can be overcome through the power of the Spirit of God. Good news to all who will believe. Of course spirits won't want you to believe this as they're invested in keeping you from knowing the love of God and being made new. I will always trust Jesus Christ above anything that man has to say because He not only saved my life, but has shown Himself to be faithful every day of my life.

I was saved 2 months ago and the scales have completely come off my eyes and what was once a mistery is so obvious now. My dear mother suffers with schizophrenia and when she would have the manic episodes, her appearance would change like her eyes, voice, facial expressions and even movements, she would become like a totally different person. I have talked to her about this, asking what happens when she goes manic and she says she can not remember a thing, it's like she is not even there in her own body. I truly believe she is possessed by demons because her heart is so pure and sorrowful but when an episode comes there is no kindness or love, her eyes look empty and soulless. For past few years she has lost any will to live and spends her in-between phases in deep depression not leaving the house. I pray that the one and only true living God Jesus Christ will deliver her and she can spend rest of her days being free. What I want more than anything in the world is to see my mother smile again. I am new to the faith and am scared to trigger an episode by speaking about this with her because any change in routine (including routine topics) can set her off the edge. I am so glad to hear about your salvation sister, may God bless you richly with strength, peace and overflowing love in Him. I know it must be hard with your mum, but I would say the best thing to do would be to really pray for her that the Lord would bring her peace and freedom, and that he would give you the words to say when it's right. These battles are fought in prayer so that is where freedom comes. If you knew any strong Christians then you could ask them to pray with you for her on a regular basis, that the Lord would help your mum to be able to be open to responding to the gospel. The bible says that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Meaning Jesus in you is greater than any and all evil forces. Don't be afraid of what may happen while your with your mum, always make the conscious choice to trust in Jesus even if/when evil tries to make you afraid. I am really glad to get your message and I know that God will be with you every day. He is faithful and that's always true. Will pray for your mum, God bless.

I am hearing voices messing with my ind and hearing that tormenting laughter. I do not have a metal illness. I was assessed by the head mental health person and he told me that I did not have psychosis. It seems to be worse when I am tired. Which is often as it pushes me in bed to stop me sleeping. As Andrew says repeatedly “it is so hard”. It is so hard. Please pray for me 🙏
Hi George. Biblically speaking then every believer has authority to cast out demons. Unfortunately it's not something that most of us understand and walk in. I believe Ellel ministries is good and do healing and deliverance. You can learn to do self deliverance as well. I would recommend Russ Dizdar for teaching on spiritual authority.

Thank you for posting these….My husband is a believer but comes from a family that practices a lot of witchcraft (Mexican Santeria). He was a new Christian when we married and now we have 3 children. He has been having severe bouts of psychosis and erratic behavior since 2015. I have always felt that he gets worse when he makes sinful choices (ie watching pornography, consuming and producing depraved music, holding grudges and raging, lying, etc.). During his episodes, he accuses me and everyone around him of the vilest things, rages, and stalks me until I’m ready to leave with the kids. Then he gets scared and starts reading the Bible and going to studies, being a good husband and father and becomes the man I married again) It’s so confusing, Dr.s tell him to get evaluated and medicated (he won’t), sometimes I’m so angry and others I just feel bad for him and want to help. I wonder about having go through deliverance (his mother took him to a witch to put a spirit guide on him when he was young), but I know a lot of deliverance ministries are exploitative and keep people coming back for more deliverance every week. I don’t believe all Christians need deliverance, Christ’s authority over someone is sufficient. But, in cases like yours, and possibly my husband’s, there seems to be dark footholds and chains of oppression that need to be rebuked and broken. And if gets deliverance but chooses to continue in bitterness and sinful choices, will he become even worse? That’s a lot I know. But I do want to say thank you thank you thank you for your testimony…it gives me so much hope. I keep reading so much that makes me feel pretty hopeless that my husband will get anything but worse. His paranoid delusions are pretty hard on our family, and I want to protect our children’s minds and hearts but at the same time stand by him…Thank you for encouraging testimony, may Jesus continue to shine through you and your family.
Hi Adrienne, thank you for sharing. If a person will really seek God and not let go then no matter what happens then Jesus will bring them through victoriously. Sometimes someone becomes converted but don't realise that to be a follower of christ is a continuous walk of seeking and submitting to the Lord. The Lord knows what we need and is able. Maybe your husband needs fellowship/discipleship, keep praying that the Lord would show him what it truly means to be His follower. May the Lord bless you and all of your family. May He bring freedom and peace in Jesus mighty name.
These entities DO create this kind of addictive behaviour in people. It can be very difficult for the person to realise that these thoughts and ideas are not their own. But it can begin to help when they start to realise THEY are being influenced negatively. But it is a slow process. What you can do is to create inner peace for yourself. Model peace. Model love. Make your home a place of peace love and joy. Don’t watch anything negative or fearful. Keep drama out of your life. These things feed on fear and negativity. They try to create conflicts, for that reason. Seek and find your own inner peace. This will also help your husband.
Also rest can really help. It can get worse when tired. So try to get plenty of sleep and rest, and model that so it inspires your husband. As he will see you feeling better from having more sleep and rest.

I believe that when it comes to what is known as mental illness, that the Lord wills that we come into freedom and this necessitates us truly trusting in His authority over all things. If we trust Him fully and seek Him then we will see progress. I'm free because I trusted and God came through like His word says He would. Now God loves us all the same, and is able to to the impossible, and is willing to do so. We must trust and not let go which is hard and sometimes painful and we may fail and have to get up again. We need to be quick to see where we aren't trusting Him and quick to repent of it. There isn't a formula for this kind of thing as God doesn't do formula's, but He will definitely do it if we seek Him for it and learn to rest in His love. I trust God the best I can and I am not involved in any willful conscious sin that I am aware of but I do not feel Gods favor or acceptance or approval towards me even though I believe in Jesus and do my best to follow him while being honest with him. I know he is good and kind. I trust him the best I know how however I had an abusive upbringing and an abusive marriage and have seen people praying against me in the spirit. I had a vision that the healing isn’t going to come through prescription drugs but that Jesus is my healer so I decided to seek out where Jesus was healing this and ask for prayer. Hi. This is an interview I did 10 years ago so its pretty old. I've actually been completely med free since late 2002. I've worked full time pretty much since 2004 and am happily married with teenage children. I've really tried to embrace the second chance that I was given and to share the hope that changed my life.
I can definitely relate to some of this even though I’m not diagnosed with schizophrenia, I do have a long history of PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, OCD and possibly undiagnosed bipolar disorder and have been in therapy and tried countless medications and have contemplated suicide a lot but since I’ve gotten into Christianity more and prayed more a lot of the struggles and especially the intrusive thoughts that some of them aren’t very nice and go against what I am as a person and a lot of it has started to be a lot less and intense. It hasn’t disappeared but it’s getting better and more clearer. I think a lot of what GOd and Jesus did for healing people and doing good for others shifts your focus on good things in life

Hello. God bless you. I honestly believe that God has given us a spirit of power, love and sound mind, as the scripture says. The most important thing is to know that Jesus will faithfully bring you through. You must believe that He wants to bring you healing and that it is His purpose to do it. It takes faith but believing in the God who can is so important. Have faith in Him that He will lead you into all truth by His Holy Spirit. Be careful with deliverance ministries as many do more harm than good. When I became a Christian and still struggled with mental health it was choosing to trust God instead of giving into the lies of the enemy that mattered. God already has a plan for you, trust Him to do it and let Him lead you.

I know that the medical world claims that this is a chemical imbalance, but what are these chemicals that are imbalanced, they do not know. People often have very different symptoms in their schizophrenia to others. If someone has a broken bone then the problem is easily recognised but because they don't understand schizophrenia then the label "chemical imbalance" is given as if that alone satisfies all the questions. People have experienced demons since the dawn of time. It's the ultimate gas-lighting, spirits drive people to craziness and then blame them, telling them its all in their faulty brain. Maybe your schizophrenia never caused you to encounter spiritual things, I don't know, but I do know that seeing demons is very normal in the schizophrenic community. The good news is that Jesus loves you and that the gospel can save all who call on His name, and these things can be overcome through the power of the Spirit of God. Good news to all who will believe. Of course spirits won't want you to believe this as they're invested in keeping you from knowing the love of God and being made new. I will always trust Jesus Christ above anything that man has to say because He not only saved my life, but has shown Himself to be faithful every day of my life.

Thank you so much for your testimony!🙏 It is a blessing to hear you speak and share what you have been through. I was saved 2 months ago and the scales have completely come off my eyes and what was once a mistery is so obvious now. My dear mother suffers with schizophrenia and when she would have the manic episodes, her appearance would change like her eyes, voice, facial expressions and even movements, she would become like a totally different person. I have talked to her about this, asking what happens when she goes manic and she says she can not remember a thing, it's like she is not even there in her own body. I truly believe she is possessed by demons because her heart is so pure and sorrowful but when an episode comes there is no kindness or love, her eyes look empty and soulless. For past few years she has lost any will to live and spends her in-between phases in deep depression not leaving the house. I pray that the one and only true living God Jesus Christ will deliver her and she can spend rest of her days being free. What I want more than anything in the world is to see my mother smile again. I am new to the faith and am scared to trigger an episode by speaking about this with her because any change in routine (including routine topics) can set her off the edge. Would you have any recommendations how to approach this with her in a gentle way?

I am so glad to hear about your salvation sister, may God bless you richly with strength, peace and overflowing love in Him. I know it must be hard with your mum, but I would say the best thing to do would be to really pray for her that the Lord would bring her peace and freedom, and that he would give you the words to say when it's right. These battles are fought in prayer so that is where freedom comes. If you knew any strong Christians then you could ask them to pray with you for her on a regular basis, that the Lord would help your mum to be able to be open to responding to the gospel. The bible says that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Meaning Jesus in you is greater than any and all evil forces. Don't be afraid of what may happen while your with your mum, always make the conscious choice to trust in Jesus even if/when evil tries to make you afraid. I am really glad to get your message and I know that God will be with you every day. He is faithful and that's always true. Will pray for your mum, God bless.

I am going through this myself, it started after having a poltergeist in my home . I am hearing voices messing with my ind and hearing that tormenting laughter. I do not have a metal illness. I was assessed by the head mental health person and he told me that I did not have psychosis.
It seems to be worse when I am tired. Which is often as it pushes me in bed to stop me sleeping.
As Andrew says repeatedly “it is so hard”. It is so hard.

Hi George. Biblically speaking then every believer has authority to cast out demons. Unfortunately it's not something that most of us understand and walk in. I believe Ellel ministries is good and do healing and deliverance. You can learn to do self deliverance as well. I would recommend Russ Dizdar for teaching on spiritual authority.

Thank you for posting these….My husband is a believer but comes from a family that practices a lot of witchcraft (Mexican Santeria). He was a new Christian when we married and now we have 3 children. He has been having severe bouts of psychosis and erratic behavior since 2015. I have always felt that he gets worse when he makes sinful choices (ie watching pornography, consuming and producing depraved music, holding grudges and raging, lying, etc.). During his episodes, he accuses me and everyone around him of the vilest things, rages, and stalks me until I’m ready to leave with the kids. Then he gets scared and starts reading the Bible and going to studies, being a good husband and father and becomes the man I married again) It’s so confusing, Dr.s tell him to get evaluated and medicated (he won’t), sometimes I’m so angry and others I just feel bad for him and want to help. I wonder about having go through deliverance (his mother took him to a witch to put a spirit guide on him when he was young), but I know a lot of deliverance ministries are exploitative and keep people coming back for more deliverance every week. I don’t believe all Christians need deliverance, Christ’s authority over someone is sufficient. But, in cases like yours, and possibly my husband’s, there seems to be dark footholds and chains of oppression that need to be rebuked and broken. And if gets deliverance but chooses to continue in bitterness and sinful choices, will he become even worse?
That’s a lot I know. But I do want to say thank you thank you thank you for your testimony…it gives me so much hope. I keep reading so much that makes me feel pretty hopeless that my husband will get anything but worse. His paranoid delusions are pretty hard on our family, and I want to protect our children’s minds and hearts but at the same time stand by him…Thank you for encouraging testimony, may Jesus continue to shine through you and your family.
Hi Adrienne, thank you for sharing. If a person will really seek God and not let go then no matter what happens then Jesus will bring them through victoriously. Sometimes someone becomes converted but don't realise that to be a follower of christ is a continuous walk of seeking and submitting to the Lord. The Lord knows what we need and is able. Maybe your husband needs fellowship/discipleship, keep praying that the Lord would show him what it truly means to be His follower. May the Lord bless you and all of your family. May He bring freedom and peace in Jesus mighty name.

These entities DO create this kind of addictive behaviour in people. It can be very difficult for the person to realise that these thoughts and ideas are not their own.
But it can begin to help when they start to realise THEY are being influenced negatively. But it is a slow process.
What you can do is to create inner peace for yourself. Model peace. Model love.
Make your home a place of peace love and joy.
Don’t watch anything negative or fearful. Keep drama out of your life.
These things feed on fear and negativity. They try to create conflicts, for that reason.
Seek and find your own inner peace. This will also help your husband.
Also rest can really help. It can get worse when tired.
So try to get plenty of sleep and rest, and model that so it inspires your husband. As he will see you feeling better from having more sleep and rest.

I believe that when it comes to what is known as mental illness, that the Lord wills that we come into freedom and this necessitates us truly trusting in His authority over all things. If we trust Him fully and seek Him then we will see progress. I'm free because I trusted and God came through like His word says He would. Now God loves us all the same, and is able to to the impossible, and is willing to do so. We must trust and not let go which is hard and sometimes painful and we may fail and have to get up again. We need to be quick to see where we aren't trusting Him and quick to repent of it. There isn't a formula for this kind of thing as God doesn't do formula's, but He will definitely do it if we seek Him for it and learn to rest in His love. However I have been experiencing condemning visions for a long time and I have been doing what I can to live for Christ since 2013 but even then have made some mistakes. I trust God the best I can and I am not involved in any willful conscious sin that I am aware of but I do not feel Gods favor or acceptance or approval towards me even though I believe in Jesus and do my best to follow him while being honest with him. I know he is good and kind. I trust him the best I know how however I had an abusive upbringing and an abusive marriage and have seen people praying against me in the spirit. I worship God and read his word or listen to the Bible pretty much daily though I might miss some days. I had a vision that the healing isn’t going to come through prescription drugs but that Jesus is my healer so I decided to seek out where Jesus was healing this and ask for prayer. I can definitely relate to some of this even though I’m not diagnosed with schizophrenia, I do have a long history of PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, OCD and possibly undiagnosed bipolar disorder and have been in therapy and tried countless medications and have contemplated suicide a lot but since I’ve gotten into Christianity more and prayed more a lot of the struggles and especially the intrusive thoughts that some of them aren’t very nice and go against what I am as a person and a lot of it has started to be a lot less and intense. It hasn’t disappeared but it’s getting better and more clearer. I think a lot of what GOd and Jesus did for healing people and doing good for others shifts your focus on good things in life

I honestly believe that God has given us a spirit of power, love and sound mind, as the scripture says. The most important thing is to know that Jesus will faithfully bring you through. You must believe that He wants to bring you healing and that it is His purpose to do it. It takes faith but believing in the God who can is so important. Have faith in Him that He will lead you into all truth by His Holy Spirit. Be careful with deliverance ministries as many do more harm than good. When I became a Christian and still struggled with mental health it was choosing to trust God instead of giving into the lies of the enemy that mattered. God already has a plan for you, trust Him to do it and let Him lead you.
