VF is the only fighting game where I get a rush side-stepping...and it feels like an actual fleshed-out mechanic. Still feels like the best 3D fighter...even after all these years.
Yeah, glad I managed to archive it at 1080p60 and, IMO, there's no reason why archived VF footage should be anything less than 720p60! For some reason, the gamenewton channel's upload is only 360p!
You don't see that many Virtua Fighter tournaments. It's always Street Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Marvel vs Capcom, King of Fighters and vice versa.
There's a surprising number of tournaments for VF always happening, they just don't get the same level of exposure as other titles unfortunately. Check out this round-up of events slated for 2019 as an example: virtuafighter.com/threads/virtua-fighter-tournament-round-up-2019.21193/ Also, I do what I can to post highlight videos of monthly tournaments in Japan on my channel if you're interested.
I think it's better than, having watched some Evo footage just before this, the "podcast" style of anecdotes and theorizing mid-match. More interesting to have commentar on what's going on than mid-match seminars on game mechanics.
@@ArpeggioPegasus Not sure OP's assessment is true. It is impressive VF still has a a huge turnout at tournaments in Japan ( Beat-Tribe is actually the biggest VF tournament in the world) but Tekken had a similar event - the Mastercup. This year's Mastercup had up to 264 teams (1320 entrants).
I’ve been to japan in 2008 or 2009, while Tekken 6 and VF5 were pretty recent games, and while most arcades had 2-4 Tekken machines, VF heavily outnumbered it. Club Sega Akihabara had literally a whole floor of VF machines and it was packed every time I went inside.

No isekai, no super nature, no magic. That's VF for you
Still my favorite as well, VF is still the king of 3-D fighters in my eyes.
1:19:55 The real power
1:26:53 How is no one talking about this? That comeback is legendary
it's VoooV, it's possible to find his[or this] team channel on UA-cam. And they playing much more characters then only that
Man, these dudes get hype. Lots of energy at this event.
Omg, these matches are not for the faint of heart!!!! YOU Sarah is just Amazing
As summah75 said, YOU Sarah's play was just mindblowing. 1:13:47 starts the matches of the game
Thank you! The video quality is so much better than most of the Japan tournaments.

I like Jean Kujo's aggressive Karate.

yo this announcer is yipes level hype
Anyone else bugged by the fact that the camera is on the WRONG SIDE?! Haha :D Amazing gameplay.
The scene for this in Japan seems bigger than Tekken.
That's because Tekken is especially popular in South Korea.

I think it's much better than Tekken as far as animation and controls.

Love these players who are not button mashers
i see A lot of raven moves from tekken are originally from kage
I see that Kumicho plays Final Fantasy 14. And is a gentleman at that.
Amazing matches. Is this tournament happening this year/2020?
1:26:54 Ok, you've had your fun. My turn.
NAILED
And no rage mode needed.
it's possible to find him on UA-cam
Does anyone know on what gaming platform are the VF5 FS tournaments are recently played, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX one?
Pretty sure it's on arcade in Japan

Every time this announcer yells YAHHH at the end of a match he sounds like the female Salvador from RE4.
