Of course they're talented, but what makes them so good as a unit is that each embraces their rolls & is committed to them. It allows their chemistry to flourish. The line " Add your light to the sum of light" comes to mind. Lastly Tim is the eye in the sky who can stand back & survey what unfolds determining who fits where with his keen ears, adding his own talents to fill the gaps. Their always a treat for me because after all this time together You can see they haven't lost their joy, which is the straw that stirs the drink. Great Q & A guys !

I think I heard Maggie say along the lines of maybe if we “set up something a year in advance people would come to us.” I would heartily agree with that! A lot of folks would fly, drive, run, walk to come to you to see all of you perform, for sure.

I’d have no problem driving several hours to see them. I’ve played guitar for 50 years and in bands since I was 15. Your band’s vocals are fantastic. That’s usually where a band has difficulty. Cheers guys and gals! 🤘

Good point, SicilyJo. Tim spoke about maybe doing a live stream from a sound stage in Atlanta. Well, maybe it could be in a (say) 2,000 seat venue. I'd definitely fly out from California to GA to see and hear these incredible talents. So F&F, please let all of us fans know! Keep it up, we love your music.

Stumbled across F&F almost 8 years ago looking for a cover of Todd Rundgren's "We Gotta Get You a Woman" and what I found was F&F's version - live - which I think is better than Todd's studio version. Long story short, I've been following F&F ever since. So much talent. I melt listening to Maggie & Sammie on "You Can't Hurry Love"... but when Chase belts out "and tell all the stars above" on "Dedicated to the One I Love" I get goose bumps. The Fossils are all polished musicians... the Foxes, phenomenal.

I am a fellow UA-cam creator about to break 50,000 subs (teaching drywall skills) and LOVE your channel and music. I've listened to you for over an hour today alone.
My dad was a good musician and played mandolin and his Martin D28. He had 4 brothers who all played and they even won a band competition in front of thousands once when he was only about 17 with his brothers. We used to have family reunions in the mountains and there would be live Bluegrass music under a Shade tree most of the day and I could sit and listen to that all day long.
i’ve always been more into music than most people, but can’t seem to play an instrument worth a hoot but I do understand more about the technical aspects of mixing and such than most and I have to commend you all on the incredible arrangements and mixing that results in such beautiful music.
And your harmonies are the best I've ever heard. You'd think you're all family. I especially love the harmonies on Harvest Moon, don’t worry baby, and dedicated to the one I love. I’ve listened to some of them 10 times already.
I hope you will release more songs as downloads as I would love to purchase them.

HELP!!!!! I can't stop watching your videos!! I'm a 72 year old lifetime musician, started my first R&R band in eight grade. That was 1961. Got into folk for a couple of years in high school, had a cool folk quartet that was great until The Beatles turned the world on its head and I went back to my trusty Supro guitar, followed by many more later over the years. Have been entertaining ever since, never got rich, played a ton of clubs in the 70's barely making a living, a few concert openings back in the 69's for the Doors, The Byrds, The Turtles... All in Southern Cal. Raised a family of 4 girls and I live in Texas now, a semi retired Registered Nurse (Psych and Substance Abuse) and pretty much a One Man Band entertainer nowadays. specializing in entertaining a lot of "Golden Agers".
OK that's out of the way and who cares right? Just wanted to establish that I Love music and it is part of my life every day!!
When I stumbled onto you guys last year, it was like what? Who is this? My gosh these videos were like 9 or 10 years. Where are they now? How did I miss them?
Fast forward to this November, seeing them come up in my feed more and more. And then I notice some newer videos, like 2019!! I was now hooked.... Look, I am an addiction specialist, that was my specialty in Nursing, I help people get off of drugs and alcohol that are struggling with there addictions.
I realize I have become rather obsessed, and need to have me F&F "fix" several times a day! I can't seem to get enough of Ya'll!
The Foxes, Maggie, Sammie and Chase!! Talent, Beauty and Subtle Charisma that sneaks up on you and BAM! You are hopelessly addicted! Then there's Tiim, dude you are one talented singer both lead and blender extraordinary. Scott, wonderful tasty bass playing as well as all the other instruments and vocals, Johnny, what a solid timekeeper (and occasional Bass player) , Toby, so appreciative and a bit jealous of your guitar ability and last but not least Darwin, fossil worthy guitar and vocals.. Together you guys are becoming an Internet phenomena. I started sharing a few of your videos on my facebook feed and many of my friends are now catching the F&F Obsession! I love sharing and hearing what they say after they watch and hear your videos!!
So I don't know if you guys will ever read this note, it is just one of hundreds, probably thousands of us who just appreciate the hell out of this wonderful band of entertainers.. But thank you and I am really happy that you all made this video to help us older fans get a grip on who you really are.
PS I just noticed that Sammie and Maggie have professional Linkedin Accounts and you guys are not just singers with great voices and beautiful looks! You are obviousely smart and well grounded in your lives. Thanks once again!! I will be watching and listening. Marty Prue, Highland Village, Texas "The Timeless Entertainer"

Remarkable group: they are not performing …they are living the music …it naturally exudes from them …I suspect they can’t help it.
I stumble on F&F just 5 days ago and I’m not embarrassed to say that I’ve listened to them 75-100 times [and I was out of internet range 2 of those days]. Their communication of music and personal expression immediately stopped my days to partake …the 64 year old fossil I am. I was particularly humbled by Maggie’s voice/delivery in ‘Can’t Hurry Love’ …such a rich tone and command she has. Thanks Tim / y’all. Our Heavenly Father’s blessings and guidance as you consider sharing more.

I just recently, thanks to UA-cam algorithms, became aware of your recordings and am now a HUGE fan! Thank you SO much for the outstanding quality of every video I have watched! It's a great tribute to your wonderful commitment to, and love of, the songs you have so masterfully covered! Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is certainly one of my all-time favorites - and you NAILED it, as Graham Nash himself has acknowledged! I would love to attend a live performance if you ever tour the Northeast. Thank you again, and please keep it going as long as you possibly can!

I came across your UA-cam videos a few years ago and fell in love with what you guy's do. Kinda reminded me of a band that a friend and I put together over 44 years ago, we were all country boy's raised on ranches in Wyoming except for one who was a transplant to our community. The community as a child we had barn dance's and church dance's with a family of relatives of musicians. My dad played banjos and harmonica, they had a fiddle player, guitar, steel guitar, piano player and someone on the old whisky jug and mouth harp. I had 4 sister that a sang together and did a lot of weddings, dance's, church performancs and funerals. So music was a big part of my life. A big surprise was our band was not into the music we were raised on, we loved and played what is now classic rock, the songs of the late 70's and 80 to 81. We were all so busy with working on the family ranches and school sports then after graduation most of us went different ways, some went on church mission's such as myself. Some of us still play some but not in bands, I raised my kids in music with one son playing the guitar, piano, and sings, another son took my spot as a drummer, another son who sings and 2 daughters that are amazing singer's as well.
Thanks guys for the memories you brought back.

The best part of your band, Tim, is how humble and down to earth everyone is in the band. You can just see how everyone enjoys playing and being in the band. Absolutely right what you said, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Really enjoyed listening to this Q&A because it is so genuine ! Hope you will keep coming out with new songs and hopefully a concert, live or virtual. You are the best there is.

For me, I decided that you guys were the best a year ago, with your talent, style and class, terrifically unique. My fear and sadness though was that you would somehow break up or end the group. So seeing this video meant a lot, that you're all still in there creating together. Truly your music and songs are, in my opinion, the best, and mostly better than the original version. Thanks for the aesthetics that you guys as a collective group, put out there. You deserve all the fame and fortune that can come your way. I hope you still find a way to achieve that.

Thank you F&F for always bringing us quality music and performances. As a past musician of a band with 5 part harmonies, you guys are SPOT ON. As a band member I can still remember the feeling when we hit all 5 pieces of harmony on song arrangements. There’s no better feeling. You guys make it seem so effortless. Even after not playing for 10+ years, it makes me want to gather our band back together and try it all over again. Unfortunately we lost one of our key members to colon cancer last year. Allen Chester….the late great guitar luthier to southern rock bands like 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Lynard Skynard. He was one heart and soul of our band.
Life is so so short. Embrace the talents y’all have and keep singing and playing beautiful music as long as y’all can. It’s always a pleasure watching and listening to your music with a good set of headphones. Look forward to your future postings.

I will pray for some rich person to sponsor you with enough to accomplish OUR dreams of seeing F&F put out a bevy of live concert vids! Addiction is a bad thing, especially at my age. I already did the adoring fan trip back at Woodstock following CSNY! Thought those days died a long time ago. I have listened to F&F everyday for at least an hour for a year now since I stumbled across you online. Besides the 3 women who are obviously superstars I just wanna acknowledge Tim and the band for EXCEPTIONAL work with all the songs. As a fossil and guitar player and singer myself I have to say, what you guys do just makes me smile all over. Love the harmonies (I'm officially jealous) and the musicality of everyone. One of my favorite songs to sing is Harvest moon and you're cover just blows me away. Love the arrangement and the way Maggie made it her own. There is no way I would ever pick a favorite singer from the group because really I think it changes every song but I have to say whenever Chase sings a Mamas and Papas Cass Elliot part my heart just smiles. It makes my whole day.
Of course I'm a little partial to the older stuff but you ladys are bringing me into the 21st century a little. That's what music is suppose to do, keep people discovering new things. And of course I love when the guys do America and other 60s and 70s bands. Thanks for everything and keep making music because it inspires. Oh, by the way, I like Billie Ellish too!😄

I hadn't ever heard your version of "We Gotta Get You A Woman", but after you mentioned it in this Q&A I made a point to find it. WOW! Tim, your vocal on that was superb! And the harmonies were rock solid, as usual, and the accompaniment, too, of course. I was impressed with F&F before... and even more so after hearing that one! If I ever hit the lottery and decide to throw a party, I think I'll fly you all out to my neck of the woods to sing that one for all my friends!

Thanks, Dan. Part of it is because Tim and I grew up together, High School, Music, garage Bands, the whole bit. And, we've always just loved the Craft. Timing is everything. Then Tim and all his various Bands, then Toby, the Mustangs, Johnny, Scott, and other wonderful friends and musicians. Very organic. Then Family, Sammie, her friends, just amazing discoveries of Talent. Growing up in the 60's, 70's ....up until now- all the amazing music that was everywhere in our formative years- it's just in us, our DNA, and now we get to put it all back out, give it back. It's VERY natural for us to do it this way. Always has been, but who could have predicted something like this. VERY COOL...and SATISFYING/GRATIFYING!

I first heard of Foxes and Fossils about 2 years ago when I watched your cover of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". I cannot recall why I clicked on it. Finding a band on UA-cam doing such a challenging song well is rather unlikely. I am guessing that the band name gave the extra little push I needed. I am grateful that something piqued my curiosity and for whatever UA-cam algorithms brought the video to me. I was treated to an exceptional performance. In the following days and weeks I listened to almost all of the F&F and The Mustangs recordings. I subscribed to the channel and occasionally returned to listen to favorites and see if there was anything new. Until yesterday I thought there would be no more. I am pleased that there is and hope you continue. Approximately 25 million views? I have no doubt that something very big is happening and if you choose to continue and work to keep your fan base growing there soon will be few places and few days that you aren't recognized.

Oh Yes! Thanks for doing this little discussion. Like you Tim, I always loved the Acoustic/rock songwriter-style music as well - Jackson Browne, CSN, Fogelberg, Eagles, Cat Stevens, and of course I was weaned on the Beatles.....but anyway, I first ran across F & F a couple of years ago and began to find 'every' song you guys have done on UA-cam as best I could. It's fabulous - keep it going! I remember hearing the interviews of CSN and how they first realized that their harmonies were amazing AND unique......well, like you said, Sammie and Maggie with you guys is a special, special blend - absolutely love hearing you. Love your sound! Your rendition of Todd Rundgren's "We Gotta Get You a Woman", instantly took me back to what began as a random Friday night several years ago, when 4 good friends and myself, just up and decided to fly to Chicago from St. Louis to break-up the monotony. We ended up at a quaint little bar with all hardwood floors on Rush Street, otherwise known as "The Lodge" dancing our hearts out much of the night to the best sounding Jukebox of all Todd Rundgren's songs from the 70's with all 75 or so patron's..as it became like "the wave" if you walked into this bar on that night, you were going to be dancing. Truly, a magical time, that we could never recreate nor try to.. again. Oh and one last thing..have you done "Big Yellow Taxi"? I think you guys would kill that!

The level of quality of performance is the along the lines of Lexington Lab band, Leonid and Friends and what is amazing is that you do it as a small group....which is very hard to pull off well. It is what I call the ABBA formula: great vocalists coupled with great musicians with a perfectionist sound engineer and choosing music that fits with your group's individual talents. And man does it work beautifully after the sound mixing. I love those women voices and how they blend together and how each lady can hold their own when needed. You have a good thing there Tim.
