      @@OKAI6 what I really liked was the discipline, followed with the lesson and the addition of redemption. That's complete parenting. I usually just got the discipline with no lessons or redemption. This dude taught the entire lesson and process!!!

I love that you didn't even have to tell your son to let her hug... he was already prepared, at the sound of pattering footsteps.. throwing his electronics and ready with a welcoming smile and a warm squeeze from buh buh!     I love the dad’s stern, yet calm and loving, voice he used when correcting his daughter and asking her to acknowledge that hitting her brother was “mean.” She also didn’t make excuses or place blame for hitting him. She totally humbled herself. The brother was so eager to accept her apology with open arms! I’m sure he can empathize with her punishment.

      She knows she did wrong.
      But, hitting can be an attention seeking trait, when children especially that young, can’t express that she want to play or stop looking at tour iPad , look at me , kind of thing.
      These poor children today , their whole lives are either in the phone or on the phone.
      What a mess this generation has caused

    I grew up with my younger brother, and even if he hit me, I had to live with it, because I'm older. Because my "brains are bigger than his." I should act like it. It was hard, and I had problems with that. Objecting made it far worse. That's how it was in our household. Thank you for this!

      Sadly, that is the way it is for a lot of us, and it leads us to start stuffing our own emotions and sense of justice. Terrible way to go out into the world. Worse, our father was very childish and mean, and we were not allowed to object to that either. Bullying.

      My nephew ( today's young parents ) won't spank his little boys for bad behavior , he screams at them thinking they are learning ? I'm 67 and got spanked never did it again , his kids are right back doing the same shit with-in minutes !

      ​@@MrJoe-qh2vbAll my cousins were spanked and they were the most missbehaved in my family, their kids are the exact same, spanked and yelled and they go and yell back no problem, my parents did neither and we almost never got in trouble as kids, y'all are just mindlessly passing down bad discipline techniques and not understanding why they don't always work (yes, spanking can work...When it's paired with actual discipline, nor because of the spanking itself, that just scares the kid and lets the parent let out their frustration)
