    Sir,
    What is the differences between idiom and phrase

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  2 роки тому

      Idiom does not convey any direct meaning. There is always a hidden meaning.
      Example: Beating about the bush. It has not nothing to with bush or beating. It means that the person speaking does not come to the point directly.
      Phrase is just a group of words which is used for natural and fluent English.

    Could you please conduct these?
    If we use these types of usage we have to follow some certain principles.
    1)Though -yet
    2)No sooner -than
    3)Not only -but also
    4)Hardly-when
    5)Lest-Should
    6)Such -as
    7)Scarcely -when

    Sir whats the difference between Idioms and phrases

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  5 років тому +1

      Idiom: If you translate word by word, it won't make any sense. But collectively they have a particular meaning known and easily understood by native speakers. Phrase is a just group of words.

    Could you please explain that the different between 'is to be PP' and 'has to be PP' sentences

  • @singsarav
    @singsarav 5 років тому +1

    Sir
    I find it it is very slow and too much fundamental. So I get less interest to watch. I will be happy to watch if it is advanced and bit more creative ( I mean it should not be boring). Btw your video graphics are impressive.

    How to make Gonna wanna sentence sir

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  5 років тому +1

      Don't ever use these in writing. These are used in spoken form only when you become extremely fluent in English. Please don't even consider using them.

    Sir,
    How do I find the idioms in a sentence while reading?

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  5 років тому

      Idiom when translated word by word doesn't make sense. Together they meaningful and relevant. When you come across such phrase or words, they are idioms.

      First of all please stop writing Tamil with English letters like how you have done now. Read a lot and listen to English a lot. Write and speak English even if you commit mistakes.

      I was in the same position like you in my college.. Don't get fear brother.. Just be friend with a good speaking guy, and most importantly you have to work hard. Have a dictionary and try to get the meaning of whatever you read everyday...
