Doctor Eye Health not “official” Migraine glasses but rose colored. I find this shade extremely hard to find, this in between red/orange/pink.. like rose gold. I would love to try these glasses, it would really help especially for sunny summer ☀️
I don't get migraines, but I do get cluster headaches that last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Oddly enough, what causes the most light sensitivity for me is when my allergies are really bad. I'll have to ask my eye doctor about these.
I watched this video about 2 months ago and decided to order the Axon Optic glasses. I ordered the transitional so that I could wear them in the stores and while outside in the sun. Not only do I suffer from chronic migraines but also have photo sensitivity. PLEASE do not hesitate to order these glasses!!!!! For the first time in forever I have gone one month without a migraine or any auras. I’m going to order a pair of transitional reading glasses next. Thank you SO much for this video. It has changed my life!!!!!! Beverly

Thank you for this video! Ive been suffering from migraines for a while now and the light sensitivity is so awful! I will definitely adventure into this option to help! Really appreciate the video😁
I get migraines very frequently due the light sensitivity , these glasses are doing wonders for me ,they just work 100% , i have two pairs one for work and one at home ,I am going to buy one more pair during the thanksgiving as backup .

I would never have thought of the rose-coloured glasses, Dr Allen, but I’d try anything that helped me with the photo sensitivity I endure day in day out. I have epilepsy due to a nasal fall as a child, but Drs also say the pupil of my right eye is very dilated. Whatever it is and however I came by it, I’d definitely try the glasses in your video as at present I have to turn down all lighting indoors and especially on my mobile, laptop etc. Going out in the sun is a pain when it’s sunny, and taking the clip-on sunglasses off I’m really startled, the same when waking up! I’ll most certainly get one or both sets of glasses, by the way, yours look great on you! Many thanks for a brilliant and eye-opening video Dr Allen, you’ve helped me so very much indeed

I have severe migraines of several types. I've had the sunglasses for years. LOVE THEM! They work best for me indoors. Outdoors I wear a darker pair over them and it works well for me. I would probably prefer the darker lens as contacts so I can wear just one pair of sunglasses outside.
My current glasses have medium brown tinted lenses that help with my light sensitivity. The tint is somewhere between the barely noticeable fashion tints and sunglasses, they're darker than the former but lighter than the latter. I wear them practically all the time, inside and outside. Before the tinted glasses, I used to immure myself in dark rooms as much as possible.
Thanks Bob. I actually tried to get into the AirForce (I have a family tradition) but due to a knee injury in Highschool they would not take me. My residency at the VA, in a way, allowed me to carry on my family's service history.
I have visual snow syndrome with migraines and do wear tinted lenses all the time. If available, my recommendation is to go to a Optometry School and get the testing at their Binocular Vision Clinic. The reason being they should have quite a bit of sample tinted lenses to choose from. My tint is non-standard Violet 73% not FL-41 and have two pairs for my distance/progressive lenses and my computer/reading lenses.
@@suzannemartin6817 - I actually get dizzy and have migraines. Just neurologically and unfortunately there is more, I have visual snow syndrome with migraines, dizzyness/vertigo, and atypical facial pain. Thankfully the atypical facial pain was significantly reduced with removing a dead molar tooth I had for 6 months that the dentist misdiagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia and had tons of earwax in my left ear removed as well.
Dude this sucks.. just had a migraine yesterday. I get them once in a while. My vision gets blurry and I feel like I'm seeing double.its sucks!.. I wish I knew what was triggering it.
gemini2633 Try taking a magnesium tablet every morning. I started taking it every morning at the start of the year and I haven’t gotten a migraine since. I still unfortunately experience photophobia but at least I’m not experiencing migraines at the same time.
I can't stand retail lighting, especially at big box stores with exposed flourescents. There are whole chains I just boycott, especially hardware stores with those lighting fixture aisles running 80 kitchen lights and fans at once. The makeup aisles at most drugstores are so overlit with LED displays I can't go down them. I don't know why chains insist on over lighting. It can't be pleasant for employees either.
I work in a grocery store and I’m considering getting glasses like these because my eyes are so sensitive to light! I live in Florida, the sunshine state so it’s a lot. But I don’t know how I’d feel if I wore these glasses around work 😅
Knife going through your temple, or someone hammered your side of head with a hammer! Over 40 years, tried a million things. Its been hell. I live in Canada, and they don't get things as fast as the U.S. Looking for proper sunglasses for the no aura migraine in Canada. I googled in Canada Doctor Eye Health, thanks for the info, you look good in both, darker a bit better.
@@kathykrause8528 I got some fl41 prescription glasses and they sent them to the states and had them tinted as it was not available in Canada I live in BC ,cost 100 but I think it was worth it than had my reading glasses done too . Just a tip EH !🇨🇦
I just noticed that I’ve been having bad photophobia for most of my life and wasn’t aware of it. Everyday, especially during workdays, I would have migraines after work and felt fatigued. I bought a pair of glasses from pixel eyewear originally for dry eyes due to eye strain. But then noticed the glasses also helped with my daily migraines. I guess I’m one of those severe light sensitive patients. I can’t wait to try these glasses soon.
You know I have a similar story. I have been light sensitive since I was young but never wore sunglasses or anything, I would just close one eye and walk around like a pirate. I have heard of Pixel Eyewear too. Looking into that brand a little more. Which ones do you have?
@@DoctorEyeHealth I have the buteo and the merca. I decided to purchase a 2nd pair to leave one at work. The funny thing I would also squint with one eye as well even during cloudy days. I appreciate your advice from all your videos. I have MGD, light sensitivity, and several allergies. From watching your videos and listening to my doctor, I'm now feeling great than ever before.
I wish I'd known about these glasses when my daughter and I were suffering from dreadful light sensitivity from each of our concussions! I will recommend these to fellow sufferers!
My optician has always ignored my eye concerns since youth. My vision has changed many times but never my prescription. I’ve had optical migraines for years so painful that nothing helped and I would eventually cry myself to sleep. My migraines seem to be triggered by light sensitivity and low sugar. My vision goes blurry, my body shakes and I struggle speaking. I’ve gone through this for years with no answers from greedy Drs. I’ve even had a MRI and they found “nothing”.
Urgh, sound similar to me. I get horrible migraines and my body shakes too. I get cold sweats and if I move I’ll sometimes vomit. Just an awful experience.
That sounds like a panic attack triggered from that experience , I started having migraines after depression and anxiety disorder and that's what happens to me
@@ryzur4667 Mines seemed to be diet related maybe a effect of Hypoglycemia because now that I’m vegan and most of my sugars if not all are naturally based and more frequent I haven’t had any issues apart from now being in the heat my eyes go blurry.
Great vid👍 I have photophobia from TBI and had my glasses tinted w fl41 and i think they about help 15 - 20,% Which is not bad .I would recommend to those who suffer from light sensitivity it not easy 😎 I have a pair of proscription glasses that have clip on sunglasses and the tow work not too bad And thanks again for the info 👍 and video
These are awesome! I never knew they existed.Had a horrible scare one time while driving: I noticed tiny weird squiggles kind of like a line of dead pixels in a damaged led tv screen, in the corner of my eye. The line vibrated and then began to diffuse across the vision, which was then followed by loss of speech. Went to neurosurgeon next day and had a whole slew of tests only to be diagnosed with migraine with aura. I noticed that there are a couple of triggers for me: Aspartame Sun light Food poisoning New shirts that I was too lazy to wash ( chemicals in the clothes during shipping and processing can leach out and be absorbed through the skin) Avoiding the others are easy and now I can add the glasses to my arsenal since wearing sun glasses indoors will often get you stares with people assuming you were high last night, or had botox, or trying to be Anna Wintour lol.
I need some of these for indoors!! Suffered from chronic migraines for years, though most indoor lighting is fine unless I am suffering from a prior migraine, usually just have to worry about extended time outdoors if I forget my sunglasses.

I’ve been chronically for 18 years and many of those years have been spent in dark rooms. I had chronic migraine dictate my life. My parents’ house has these tall and wide windows that come to a point and finding curtains wasn’t easy, so I stayed locked away in my room, decked out with blackout curtains taped to the walls, for weeks on end. I’d come out after dark (so, not until about 9pm in the summer) and after the lights were turned off, go to the bottom of the stairs so my Mom handed me a food tray. We’d whisper about what had happened that day, so I could keep up with how everyone was. I’d then walk back to my cave. Every time I had a headache, this happened. The longest in a row was 23 days, but it was often more than a week at a time. Botox injections helped a lot, but the last month or so, the coverage was really iffy. It wasn’t strong enough to keep the migraines at bay, but my neurologist couldn’t risk administering the new injections yet. I got about 20 injections at a time and would be crying by the end. Something about a shot in the face and not being able to move or flinch away or react to the pain was really... traumatic and horrifying. Since I have chronic pain, even uncomfortable things are often perceived as pain, and things that normally hurt people get cranked up a level. 20 shots within five minutes always felt like this... barrage I couldn’t stop. I needed the treatment, but it was horrible to get. Now, as a result of being in the dark so frequently, I have photophobia. I’m not sure where it is on the spectrum of problematic to severe, but even on rainy days that are very overcast, in the middle of winter, the light gives me a headache within 10-15 minutes. My apartment is fit out with floor lamps, because their soft light is far more bearable than overhead lighting. My night vision is great and I can read in light most people can’t even function in well enough to get dressed! But light is really hard to deal with. And it isn’t as simple as “open the drapes or go for walks and get used to it.” I have to go about it gradually enough to set off the migraines. It’s a gamble every time I try to become accustomed to light. Blue light glasses are helping me to continue my job as an editor, in addition to having the screens at minimum brightness. By having a flipped sleeping schedule, I can generally avoid being up during daylight hours. I can go to the store at night, go to a 24 hour gym. If I have doctor’s appts either at 8am or 4pm (in winter), I can avoid the brighter parts of the day. But... it’s not normal. I can never forget how odd it is, because it causes issues trying to meet up with friends and family. It’s a weird bombshell when you’re trying to date. There’s a good reason I became photophobic, and what the ophthalmologists I’ve seen appear to not give proper weight to is that those problems are still extant. I’ve never gotten good advice on how to walk back the photophobia. I guess it’s odd enough that they haven’t dealt with it before. I am generally told to ask my neurologist. But he tells me to ask the ophthalmologist. The downside of specialization is that people can get caught in the cracks if they aren’t a straightforward case. And so, years go by, and it’s still a huge problem. I can’t function well in society when I have to hide during the day, pray that it’ll be cloudy on days I have appointments. Every time I go out on a sunny day, I’ll return with a migraine, and that’s when the waiting begins. Maybe it’ll be two days. Maybe it’ll be two weeks. Only time will tell. My new glasses block blue light and it’s been helpful in allowing me the ability to work (as an editor) without constantly needing a break from screens, but I do need something to help my general sensitivity. I don’t know if I’ll be able to reverse years of threshold tampering, or if the sensitization can be undone, but it’s a goal well worth the attempt.
I'm so sorry! What helped me (in addition to wearing rose glasses wn needed that are not special ones btw sometimes while screen viewing in addition to having all screens set not very bright with the golden night time settings where possible) was gradually going with thinner black out type curtains (that let a little light in versus the thicker ones but these were over blinds that did not keep all the light out but a lot of light out too). Please try to get material to cover those windows in the other room so you are not triggered too much at once by too bright of a light and then at a less bright time of day try letting a little light in through blinds to not physically or physiologically overwhelm you! Do things in slow layers like perhaps 1. peel curtains over blinds back some in a slightly darker time of day, then maybe open the blinds slightly later. This photophobia can be reversed some but it IS physical and something you have to carefully build up to that may never get better completely but can improve quite a bit! People that haven't experienced this (for years in a row, like us) don't always understand. I am praying for complete healing for your situation! I also pray for sympathy, empathy and actions to follow that from your roommates, family, friends and co-workers. You also may want to try medical grade (if available in your state) cbd/thc oil). That has helped my migraines occasionally after the onset and has helped to prevent them wn starting to feel fatigued from daily responsibilities/being over stimulated. Try to slowly in baby steps expose your eyes more (but not without sunglasses outside unless in a very shaded area wn there is not extreme brightness around)! Love to you!
@@sarahmoorman6936 Thanks so much Sarah! I’m happy to report that after two years of a kind of… exposure therapy like you were discussing, I’m able to go to movies again (If I wear my noise cancellation headphones and lightly tinted glasses) and have gone from needing blackout curtains to just blinds (though I use them at night because I’m so used to sleeping in pitch blackness). I don’t get migraines on cloudy days anymore, and can even withstand partially cloudy days without sunglasses for up to 15 minutes! I can handle full sunlight with dark wrap around shades, so I was able to go kayaking with my then fiancé (we got married in Scotland two weeks ago today!!!) for the first time! I still have migraines and bad days, but it’s not controlling my life like it was. I’m continuing to work on all aspects of my health (my chronic pain was pretty severe; I was essentially bed bound due to my back until I had surgery last November). I hope to be healthy enough to carry a pregnancy within the next three years, and my goal is to be able to take my kid to the park, like any other parent, without having to temper that impulse due to the amount of light. I think, at least with the photophobia, I’m well on my way! Of course now I’ve found out that I have Polymorphus Light Eruption, a kind of sun allergy, and I break out in a very itchy raised rash when exposed to the sun. I didn’t have this issue before I became ill at age 12, so maybe over the years it can fade as well. As for now, It’s so severe that the first few times it breaks out in the year, I can’t sleep because I’m so itchy! Thank you for your advice and kindness; I hope that you and everyone dealing with this problem will find their own road to recovery, rocky though it may be. 🌷
@@AmaraJordanMusic I am so relieved to hear that and I'm sure many other readers will feel hope and encouragement from what you wrote! I am so happy to hear about all of that good news and your goals/aspirations of expanding your family all the more! :) I live in Fl so I start to dread the summers a couple of months in advance and have already considered the wrap around sunglasses you mentioned for the especially bright days (even for when walking to a car in early day - although I don't drive since I don't have a car so thankfully driving through bright light is not an issue and I usually keep sunglasses on while riding in a car). My photophobia, (although not quite as severe as yours) was definitely significantly effecting me (and still does) but is quite a bit better than it was! I also use sunhats to avoid over head light on bright days and this helps in addition to sunglasses! Two testimonies here of people who are better! Yay!!! I pray it continues to improve for you (and me) and for everyone with this problem! There is hope! :)
@@sarahmoorman6936 I’m glad you’re also improving! It just goes to show that where you are is not necessarily where you’re destined to stay. I was stuck for 8-10 years, so it felt like that was it, that was my life, forever. But sometimes things start to go your way! In the meantime, accommodation to increase quality of life can help it be more bearable. I also dread the summer. On top of the photophobia and the sun allergy, I don’t regulate heat properly, so I’m always miserable outside. I’m in Tennessee, so it’s not *quite* so bad as FL, but the humidity here makes the heat thing worse, as it’s harder to sweat and expend that extra heat. Needless to say, my husband and I are wanting to move north. Illinois, Michigan, or Vermont, here we come!!! 😁 I appreciate your kindness. 😊 I hope you keep thriving!
Usually, wearing rose colored glasses is a metifor for utopian optimism, but wearing literal rose tinted glasses can indeed make things more pleasant for light sensitivity!
They really need to make a pair shaped more like Oakley where the lenses actually wrap around the side of the eye protecting & preserving vision from the side as well! (That side mirror when driving and ignorant people not turning off their high-beams come up behind me & it really hurts!) I know a lot of technicians that would buy them up if they'd just make them in this more accommodating style.
I suffer from severe (aura) migraines and photophobia and have had migraine glasses since February 2018. They've helped me a lot over the years but during the past six months I feel like my photophobia has gotten way out of control and not even the glasses are any help. I had to quit my last job because of my light sensitivity and now I'm having super hard time finding a suitable job/work environment where I can keep my eyes open without piercing pain and throwing up. Fun. But I definitely recommend the glasses! I love mine! Makes me (apparently) look like Tony Stark's daughter. 🙈
I guess wearing tinted glasses inside is a lot like wearing prescription glasses in general in that you come to rely on them so much that the feeling of blurriness or light intensity is much more pronounced when you're not wearing them.
Life through Rose Colored Glasses (if your familiar with that phrase - means “a good life”)...... looks good on you, transitions works for me even in regular glasses.
SO glad I grew out of my 'childhood' migraines... whew. They ALWAYS made me cry - :-/ Regarding the tint of the 'inside' lenses, the color reminds me of when the first commercially available lenses that darkened with sunlight and reverted back to lighter; this was back in the '60s or so, before you were even THOUGHT of yet - hee hee. Any who, when inside, out of the sun, there was still a slight tint to the lenses, but again no where near as much as these lenses. And YES, Doc; looks way cool on you. ;-)
Thank you so much! I kinda like the tint. The outdoor lenses are by far my favorite. Do you ever wear Transition lenses? (the ones that change back and forth)
I literally had an Occular Migrane for the first time of my life the other week. Had a tiny spot in the right eye that was completely blurred. It only lasted maybe 5 minutes but definitely shocked me. The next day I would have heat wave looking things with black and red lightning bolts in my peripheral vision. I've never suffered or even had migraine headaches in my life and before and after the episode never got a headache. It's pretty funny because my dad who's been an optometrist for 45 years was out of town and had his phone off so the one time in my life I had something weird going on with my eyes I couldn't ask him about it and listen to him talk about eyes for the next 92 minutes.
Just ordered some Zenni sunglasses with their FL-41 lenses- have had bouts of photophobia regularly (tears pouring, can't keep my eyes open in the sun, some swelling, and sneezing nearly every time I go into bright sunlight) and recently started having migraines along with. Look forward to trying them. I feel like having large lenses is important for me and likely other folks. I was in the Caribbean earlier this week and my prescription transition lenses didn't save me (regular rectangular glasses) - ended up with the worst migraine I've ever had- ended up wearing my wife's bedazzled pink oversized sunglasses instead every time I had issues, and even those were just marginally better. One bout on the island I was driving and had to hold one eye open while driving as my eyes felt like they were swelling shut.
What do you think about Avulux glasses? They are also maid to reduce photophobia and migraine. I highly hesitated between the two. I have light sensitivity due to autism (my green eyes dosent help). I don't really understand the diffrence between Avulux and Axon glasses.
I'm pretty light sensitive and unfortunately the indoor axon lenses are just not enough for me! I wore them for the first week at school, where my light sensitivity is the worst because of the fluorescent lights, and they barely helped. My eyes felt less gritty and strained, but I still got a migraine every day. They offer an in between indoor and outdoor lens, which I'm going to order. I like the indoor ones when I'm working on digital art and need to see color, but for everyday use I think the in betweens are for me.

I just wrote @Doctor Eye Health , a whole book what's going on with me eyes 👀.. I'm thinking , I best find another Optometrist to see withen 6 months from now .. As caterax was not in my right eye in 2019 , now it's in my right eye March 2021 , along with scaring 😐
Just got diagnosed with Irlen syndrome and also have severe migraines so I've recently gotten similar glasses, haven't had a migraine so far (could be too early to tell) but I can say it's definitely reduced the eye strain and made fluorescent lights so much easier to deal with so far :)
I think FL-41 glasses block out the specific blue-green wavelengths in ALL light that are responsible for triggering migraine, whereas blue blockers just block general blue light that you would get from screens.

I'm considering picking up something like this, I've had really bad photophobia since my burnout and it's one of the symptomes that haven't gotten better, even after a year.
Used to get most severe migraine in summers. Happened when sunshine would bounce off a metal part on a car in front of me when driving. Felt for a second that a long knife had went thru one eye. Knew that within a few minutes if I didn't get one of the migraine meds I took in 80s I only had less then half hour to turn around and get home with a excruciating migraine. So bad I would usually vomit. Gone now after menopause. Used to get 1 to 4 a month from 25 on.
nope i just order the zenni glasses for 50$ a pop good quality and love their lenses. i have the gradient pink and another pair with rose. enjoy the rose better. and zenni is good quality and the best lenses the best coatings i mean!! i just love zenni
I have TBI and yeah. Eventually tried these, I hate that they are pink but they work. Maaaaaaan it would be my luck too that the pink ones are the ones that work. Anyways I love em because my headaches aren't as bad. Maybe at 10-30% of what they normally are and you don't understand, I hate that they are pink but the level of pain relief is at the point where it's worth it and I won't be without them. 😢 I would suggest anyone suffering migraines from photophobia to give it a try. Like wear a non prescription pair for 30 min. I went in fully doubting it would work and because they were pink I didn't want it to. Anyways, my wife really likes them and I have a darker pair for outdoors.
I think the color is great, looks great and I would love to try them for my migraines and light sensitivity tbi. I’m going to look into this. Polycarbonate lenses actually cause migraines in me so I’ll have to look to see if there’s another option.
It’s a specific light filter aka tint. It’s the generic scientific name for the tint you’d use to order that light wavelength blocking color anywhere you go.
So for computer use is it better to get these or blue light blockers if you have photophobia, mines is mainly triggered by computer lights but I do get some photophobia from other lights.
I have hemipeligic migraines with persistent aura, basically the migraines can be indistinguishable from strokes and from the severity of when i had them as a kid I have a persistant "dead pixel" looking thing in the middle of my vision as well as visual snow, photosensitivity and more. Very interestingly, after taking testosterone I have experienced a near cessation to my worst migraines and have not gotten one that sent me to the hospital in years (I may no longer meet criteria soon!)
I get Migraine ocasionally and I've got Migraine Aura without the headache twice over the past two years. It looked like oily water covering the center of my vision for just over a half hour to 40 minutes. I do get headaches a lot too. I get a headache at least once a week and maybe a few days in a row.
Well if someone has zero need for power in their lenses, then tinted lenses without power May still be a benefit. However, for people prone to headaches or eyestrain then even a minor lens Rx can help (at least that is the current practice)
Can you have ocular migraines along side with photophobia? I do get ocular migraines actually have had one today now suffering with awful headache, but I am sensitive to lights and not sure if this what sets off my ocular migraines? Do they shop to the UK? Thanks
Hello Joseph, it would be nice to see from you the reviews of various glasses with FL-41 lenses from different manufacturers and compare them, just like blue-light block glasses review on your channel.
Doctor Eye Health I had a low vision counselor a few years ago and one of the things we tried were various colors and tints of lenses, pink, yellow, red, blue, etc. didn’t work, only the polarized lenses did anything. Problem is they are dark so only work outside or bright rooms. I wear them in Walmart. I’d like to try these, however, I’m broke and I don’t think the VA will go for it they are expensive.
I know you're not my doctor and you probably can't give medical advice to strangers on the internet, but my eyes are pretty light sensitive in my opinion. I have an astigmatism in both my eyes and on sunny days my eyes actually hurt when I'm outside unless I'm wearing sunglasses, at night the light from cars physically hurt my eyes so I'll drive with sunglasses on to reduce the halos that the oncoming traffic produce. When people shine a light in my face I literally can't see and my eyes start hurting immediately. Are these the kind of glasses that would work to help prevent that? Well all except for the flashlight thing...
Hi I have a question, whats the difference between tinted glasses and FL-41 glasses? It's a lot of money and I have light sensitivity rather than migraines. I cant be outside for long as I get overwhelmed and the more sun the worse it gets. I can't drive at night because of the lights and how they make the world all over the place. I get stress headaches but migraines only rarely, more fatigue/emotional stress/panic attacks. So for me it's more of a sensory issue. I am wondering if I have to fork out the 400+ for these with a prescription or I can try some tinted glasses first that are a little less expensive... I can't find anything that compares FL-41 to Rose tints. Thanks for your answer if you have time :-)
I somethimes get visual migraines without headache, and i see bright flashes in my vision when looking at bright spots like white walls, white websites etc. can those glasses help with that ? i mean preventing getting those flashes ?
I get dizzy when i'm walking in the mall, supermarkets, bright sunny day outdoor, in the kitchen that has a bright lights. Can this type of glasses help me with my dizzyness problem?
Thank You For Sharing I Have A Question I Suffer From Horrible Dry Eyes And Allergies I Went Out Yesterday To Cut My Lawn Upon Returning Into The House My Eyes We’re Worse So My Question When Is It A Good Time To Go Out When You Have Allergies
You need to see a doctor about further allergy testing and better ways to control/treat these allergies, because to be honest, with allergies that severe, you may never have a good time to go outdoors, and it's already negatively impacting your life. You may also inquire about allergy immunizations, which are shots that you get every so often that can cure you of certain allergies.

I am looking for dark sunglasses that help with light sensitivity to wear outdoors. I do not want to wear the pink lenses. Are there darker sunglasses without the pink lens? I can't seem to find them anywhere!
I went to the optometrist & was specifically tested for this, my eyes always hurt & they tested for all colour spectrums, blue is great if fluorescent lights hurt you, but definitely get tested if you can afford it because one colour does not fit all & they can tailor a specific shade for you.

Eye Health QOTD : Have you tried Migraine Glasses? What do you think of the rose/ pink tint?
Doctor Eye Health not “official” Migraine glasses but rose colored. I find this shade extremely hard to find, this in between red/orange/pink.. like rose gold. I would love to try these glasses, it would really help especially for sunny summer ☀️
i want to try those SO bad
I don't get migraines, but I do get cluster headaches that last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Oddly enough, what causes the most light sensitivity for me is when my allergies are really bad. I'll have to ask my eye doctor about these.
If they help, I wouldn’t care about the color at all lol

I would never have thought of the rose-coloured glasses, Dr Allen, but I’d try anything that helped me with the photo sensitivity I endure day in day out. I have epilepsy due to a nasal fall as a child, but Drs also say the pupil of my right eye is very dilated. Whatever it is and however I came by it, I’d definitely try the glasses in your video as at present I have to turn down all lighting indoors and especially on my mobile, laptop etc. Going out in the sun is a pain when it’s sunny, and taking the clip-on sunglasses off I’m really startled, the same when waking up!
And this remote learning mess is just making me more light sensitive.
I literally go blind when I go outside.

i do too the first thing i do is put on my sunglasses and even with them mainly in summer i put my hand on top of my eyes and look for some shade!!

I will try to be outside and have windows wide open to see if I adapt.

I have visual snow syndrome with migraines and do wear tinted lenses all the time. If available, my recommendation is to go to a Optometry School and get the testing at their Binocular Vision Clinic.

I noticed that there are a couple of triggers for me:
Aspartame
Sun light
Food poisoning
New shirts that I was too lazy to wash ( chemicals in the clothes during shipping and processing can leach out and be absorbed through the skin)
Avoiding the others are easy and now I can add the glasses to my arsenal since wearing sun glasses indoors will often get you stares with people assuming you were high last night, or had botox, or trying to be Anna Wintour lol.
Wow I honestly never thought about the new shirt bit. Thanks for the insight!

Which glass is better? Indoor or outdoor please help me
I’ve been chronically for 18 years and many of those years have been spent in dark rooms.
Have you tried it? Did it work?

Have you checked out Theraspecs? They have some similar to what you describe! What are some of your favorite games? I love video games lol

I suffer from severe (aura) migraines and photophobia and have had migraine glasses since February 2018.
I also get occular migraines. Even though they are harmless i always get so and when it happens. What causes the occular migraines?
When wearing these glasses and you have Photophobia will you still need to squint or close your eyes?

Where could I purchase these glasses and how much are they❓
love to see the research driven migralens reviewed and compared to FL-41 as they block different wavelengths.
I'm 3 months on and they are life changing
Which one do you have, do they real work?
I had photopobia 8 months ago Let me tell you how I fixed it Eat lutein and zeaxanthin foods daily Eat 4 boiled eggs daily Egg yolks are very important Eat green peas Boiled daily. Eat sweet corn kale brokoli tomato beans Include me It is my experience If you follow this it will be ok in 4 months

Omg i need this, this is my salvation
I'm considering picking up something like this, I've had really bad photophobia since my burnout and it's one of the symptomes that haven't gotten better, even after a year.
whats better for migraines, the red glasses or the green
Used to get most severe migraine in summers. Happened when sunshine would bounce off a metal part on a car in front of me when driving. Felt for a second that a long knife had went thru one eye. Knew that within a few minutes if I didn't get one of the migraine meds I took in 80s I only had less then half hour to turn around and get home with a excruciating migraine. So bad I would usually vomit. Gone now after menopause. Used to get 1 to 4 a month from 25 on.
the glasses look very good on you, Dear doctor!
nope i just order the zenni glasses for 50$ a pop good quality and love their lenses. i have the gradient pink and another pair with rose. enjoy the rose better. and zenni is good quality and the best lenses the best coatings i mean!! i just love zenni
Which glass is better? Indoor or outdoor, please help me.
I like the outdoor Transition ones the best.
Plain green tints work better

Would you do a comparison between these and the Theraspecs? Please
Do they make these for astigmatism as well and do I have to order from the website or are they available at most eye care centers?
I think the color is great, looks great and I would love to try them for my migraines and light sensitivity tbi. I’m going to look into this. Polycarbonate lenses actually cause migraines in me so I’ll have to look to see if there’s another option.
I suffer of Visual Snow , would be good for me this kind of glasses?
or should I take a Cerium Curve Test?
I need these. I hate having migraine, it’s so annoying.
I find they do help my light sensitivity to the bright indoor lights.
I have horrid photophobia from my uveitis. I get Botox injections for migraines, which has helped those a lot.
Woah. Botox injections are becoming more and more common for migraine headache management. Glad its helping!
Doctor Eye Health I’ve been getting Botox for 4 years now. It’s been a life saver. I’d had severe, almost daily migraines before.
Great to hear
Thanks for this video. Questions: must it be FL-41 or any light tint (like John Lennon's light blue tint). Is FL-41 a color code? Thanks in advance.
👍I once had a migraine 2 days in a row, same time and same place. Still not sure what caused it.
Hi Dr.E.H. im get dizzy with blur vision, does it mean i need glasses?
Hi doctor, does FL-41 require a prescription? Or does it fit to all? Ty
Technically, no - FL41 does not require a prescription if used in plano lenses.
@@DoctorEyeHealth ty so much
Are these good for wearing at night when driving cars when they put their high beams on?
Does that eyeglass lens improve contrast? I don’t get migraines but do experience severe loss of contrast, which is effectively blinding.
I work night shifts inside a warehouse with bright lights should I get glasses what do you recommend?
Can you please explain the red coating ? I’ve seen anti reflective that look green /pink , never that red ? What is it’s purpose ?
I believe it’s more of the lens that is red/pink. But anti reflective can be made red. It depends on the minerals used in the manufacturing process
Thank you! Sometimes I get "ocular migraine".
Happy your enjoying the content!
Same first time I got one I thought I was having a stroke 😳
hello Doctor. can I ask a question?
is non-prescription glasses useless to photophobia people? will nothing happen?
thankyou.
Well if someone has zero need for power in their lenses, then tinted lenses without power May still be a benefit. However, for people prone to headaches or eyestrain then even a minor lens Rx can help (at least that is the current practice)
thankyou sooo much!
I have all of what you described and I’d like to know more about these glasses, however, pink? Is this the only option?
Yeah... thats the magic of the pink tint i guess. Tony Stark wears pink glasses though
@@DoctorEyeHealth I guess gray or brown works best for some people.
@@justplinkin4809 Though, one size definitely does NOT fit all!
Looks good 👍😊 thank you I never knew that there were migraine glasses

I Have A Question I Suffer From
Horrible Dry Eyes And Allergies
I Went Out Yesterday To Cut My Lawn
Upon Returning Into The House My Eyes
We’re Worse So My Question When Is It A
Good Time To Go Out When You Have Allergies
You need to see a doctor about further allergy testing and better ways to control/treat these allergies, because to be honest, with allergies that severe, you may never have a good time to go outdoors, and it's already negatively impacting your life. You may also inquire about allergy immunizations, which are shots that you get every so often that can cure you of certain allergies.
Leroset Thank

I am looking for dark sunglasses that help with light sensitivity to wear outdoors. I do not want to wear the pink lenses. Are there darker sunglasses without the pink lens? I can't seem to find them anywhere!
Those outdoor ones look similar to Maui Jim Sunrise lens, only the Maui Jim lens is much much better.
Never tried that one, will look into it
I’ve always wanted to try these!
You should!
I went to the optometrist & was specifically tested for this, my eyes always hurt & they tested for all colour spectrums, blue is great if fluorescent lights hurt you, but definitely get tested if you can afford it because one colour does not fit all & they can tailor a specific shade for you.

those look terrific
hi again I want to let u know their sight-axon optics are against driving with these glasses-but in the previous generation that was pinkish-u sad you will make them your driving and night glasses-perhaps u can talk about the changes they made and they do not sell sunglass or photochromatic any more
does this brand/or any other brand you recommend carry "clip ons" to put over my single vision glasses? I have posterior subcapular cataracts--will this help with it or do you have something you recommend (preferably over my single vision glasses)
