You could tell people still listened to radio back then, because the announcers play by play was immaculate
I remember into the 2000s, I would turn down my TV and only listen to by home town play by play announcer. After 2010 or so, I don't do that. The current era of play by play dudes can't match those old school guys that were working since the 1960s or 70s.
They still do today.
Jordan 61pts and he didn't attempt any 3 pointers. GOATEST
And? He was a ghastly 18% three point shooter. Why should he try something he was AWFUL at?
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443I don’t think that was his point. He could have been shooting 40% at the time but the fact that a guard scored that many without attempting one is pretty good. Now, we see players rely heavily on that shot to have those high scoring games.
@@jtremaine23 Yeah, because shooting is a SKILL. To CELEBRATE the lack of a skill is standing logic on its head The very next year, Jordan shot 12% from 3. And he couldn't dribble left-handed at all. Wanna celebrate that, too? He was just the Giannis of his time, an unskilled player bullying smaller, slower players.
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 Not sure what happened to my response earlier but I said I'm pretty sure he didn't just score 61pts on layups and dunks. Shooting includes mid range and free throws too. And you're just bringing up the left hand because other people have recently (which is false) but get your own stuff lol. Did you celebrate when he hit 6 3's in the Finals or were you still one-sided?
@@jtremaine23 I didn't celebrate because I was a Blazer fan living in Portland at the time. LOL. I was commenting on the ABSURDITY of celebrating a guard who could not shoot threes for not being able to shoot threes.
Young MJ was like a human spring. No player in NBA history with that kind of bounce and athleticism.
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE G.O.A.T.!!!
Russel Westbrook.
@@hendriekyopin8590Westbrook is nice no doubt, but Westbrooks Vert was only 35-36 inches if I recall his combine numbers. Jordans was something silly like 48 inches. It was the record until someone recently broke it; Shadeon Sharpe I think. To the OPs point, Jordan’s athletic ability was unmatched. Almost not even fair to be playing in the 80s and 90s with that kind of advantage. Lol
@@hendriekyopin8590 Westbrook is one of the most athletic players of all time. He's probably the fastest in the 40 if I remember correctly. But watching 84-88 MJ was like watching an alien... The man was like a human racquetball. And watching him on video or on TV is no real gauge. If you had seen him live, Well it was like a religious experience for me watching such a large man flying!
@@Daveyboy_GolfRyep! Even though Jordan was far greater watching Wade’s speed in his prime on TV was NOTHING compared to seeing in person. That dude was Flash for real.
MJs ability to cover ground was like nothing we’d seen before
MJ with hair was the most athletic version of the GOAT.
This man was filthy on that basketball court 🤮🔥🔥🔥🐐
Man,MJ was so-QUICK-off his drives, hard for defenders to stay in front of him.MJ was pretty fundamentally sound,no doubt he learned this in college.
Nothing like young Mike!Nothing!
Imagine what it was like to see a guy drop 61… on majority mid range shots and mid post shots?!?!
Not many threes (did he shoot any) and with some special wow Jordan plays.
But he scored majority of those points with great fundamental footwork, no wasted motions or dribbles.
Just like a great Jazz improvisation, or a great freestyle.
Jordan encapsulated it all.
Thanks MJ for establishing the standard! Or excellence!
Aw stop it players were shooting mid range before he was even born
@@anthonytaylor7928wow troll are you gonna troll on every positive Jordan post ?somebody is a lebron apologist… sorry bro Jordan best … if you can’t see that go to the dr
@@billsmith9737 what does my comment has to do with LeBron?? Im 60 years old and u must be young and ignorant with that dumb comment I'm huge fan of both and when I was coming up and starting and played bball we did not have a three pt line and we didn't use the term mid range or step back or urostep we just shot and took what the defense gave us so u see I've seen a lot of great scoring before MJ was even thought of was my point dummy
Its kinda ironic that he pulled this on the Pistons, and previous year he set the playoff record (which stands to this day btw.) with 63 against Boston. The 2 teams that kept Jordan and the Bulls from winning rings in the '80s. Talking about making a statement.
And the next year, he put up 59pts against the Pistons....and that's when the "Jordan Rules" were created. He never faced the Bad Boys in the playoffs without those rules.
Jordan with hair is something else
People don't seem to understand...this is what MJ used to do to the Pistons before things changed. The next year, he put up 59pts and that's when Chuck Daly said enough is enough---the Jordan Rules were created.
Jordan with hair was so athletic jeez
I wonder how many players in that era could say that they dropped 50+ on those Pistons squads
Koke cobe dripped 30 and Wade dropped 40 on em.
Dominique Dropped 50 On The Pistons In 1986 Playoffs Game 2.
@@thev3432😂😂😂😂😂 not those Pistons fella.
Those weren't the bad boy pistons yet. They had Kelly tripuka. 86-87 was the beginning of the pistons@@marlontroy2064

FACTS
I was at this game 6 rows from the Court and all I could hear was Jordan, Jordan it was beautiful to watch 😊
Nobody plays like this dude. Bill Russell,Wilt Chamberlain,Kareem, you can include all of them. No one has got anything remotely close to his game to this day.
His sneakers keep flying off the shelves in record numbers and fashion still to this day.
The greatest ever to play the game, period!
Hair Jordan has the most complete bag in the history of basketball

If that was LeFraud, he would have taken all the praise and called his teammates plumbers! SMH
It's kind of funny how on a jordan video u have to find a way to mention lebron.
@@sportstalkonly1442 Because LeFraud lies to himself and the public, to say he’s better than MJ! No damn way!
@@JudahTribe-lt3ur lmao no way he's better than jordan, but u brought him up on a jordan video when nobody said anything about him. It's clear you think Lebron is better and insecure about it.
@@sportstalkonly1442 You may want to stop smoking Crack if you think I believe LeClown is better than MJ. I’ve been watching MJ since ‘82. So LeCLown is no where near MJ’s level.
@JudahTribe-lt3ur lmao I didn't say he was better. I said the fact that u brought him up on a video that is nothing about him, says that u are insecure about lebron and that you, yourself believe lebron is a better basketball player than jordan. If u didn't you wouldn't have even mentioned lebron
When you see who was on that team it is amazing that they even made the playoffs.
When basketball was a true sport and a real game
i will always think its weird that this dude was cut from his high school team and 3 years later he becomes the best player on the planet!?... not one athlete did that ever, in any sport!
Wish they never demolished the Silverdome, that stadium was electric and the LOUDEST i've ever been in. Went to a boxing card at the Silverdome during it's last yrs and got to stand in the same spot where Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III.
Aerial anarchy. Even Baby Jesus was must see TV like double-nickel at MSG on TNT in HD. #GOAT
Show me a game where Kobe bron or Edwards had this artistry at 21
Doesn't exist
Well Kobe at the 98 all star game was pretty close and bump gk cuz he pulled him Kobe was 20
NO ONE’s had/has Jordan’s artistry PERIOD!
Kobe had the ability to entertain and earn every Red coin the NBA was willing to pay
@@kevincolderjr5058 Kobe is ok but he lacked the first quick step of Michael Jordan, the hanging in the air, the skill, athleticism, etc. MJ's rookie season is almost as good, and in some ways better that Kobe's best season
The GOAT!! ❤
3:41 he’s just toying with them at that point
Bro I forgot who said this but they said jordan was just as fast as Dion sanders ...ijs
Tonight was a team effort. Let that sink in. I watched this man from his freshman year in college until his last game and have never seen him flop.
Team effort my ass when you have to put them into overtime and drop 61 to win the game by five points it does need somebody to pass him the freaking ball it seems
Jordan was out there taken their azz to the basket and nockin down shots from everywhere!”😂

That's when they knew....this isn't going to work....how much y'all want it....and we going to have to take the existing rules to the breaking point ...as they learned from Celtics at end of that season
This is a great video of a historic night by MJ. Well done!!
I bet you don't hear lying Isiah Thomas talk about this work Jordan put on their asses these days ... do you ? Of course not . And notice how Jordan credited his team & treated them to dinner ? This is after scoring 61 points on the " Badboy " Pistons . You know , the team fanboys like to say shut Jordan down .
Uh I think it was other way around dude
And that quote that he said to the reporter “you saw him out there that’s not just talent that’s low for the game!”
The Pistons actually played without being bullies & MJ lit they ASS UP!!!
Phenomenal.🍺
8:23 Jordan takes the team out to dinner on his 61 point night 😮
Jordan took his teammates out for dinner every time he scored 45 or above
The Bulls getting rid of Charles Oakley was a big reason the Pistons would deploy rough style basketball on MJ. Oak was a protector the muscle so to speak.
MJ was a great team player, great leader
Hair Jordan is the unstoppable athlete, Air Jordan is the skywalking athlete, rare Jordan is the master of 3 skill sets.
Thomas wakes up in cold sweats to this day having nightmares about Michael Jordan
Please, change the video title. It's ISIAH Thomas, not Isaiah👍👍👍
send this to Gills Arena
Arenas just talking for clicks. Anybody who ever played basketball know M.j. is the greatest. Basketball players know it first
This is why the Jordan rules was created and executed.
AD was a beast.!!
This game was before Detriot established the "Jordan Rules". Bill Laimbeer was actually playing clean in this one.
People like to compare Jordan to this one and that one and have a goat debate in actuality It’s not even close. He is leap and bounds of above everyone that has ever played this game. Have never seen somebody with that kind of grace and bounce make it look easy.
Legendary
Detroit will never see another game like that. Hell the NBA will never again be witness to the greatness that this era was. Today's NBA is weak and watered down with selfish cry babies and woke ideologies
The flair of the Air Jordan with hair was unfair. But the bald MJ was a killer like OJ in a Brentwood driveway. And if it wasn't for them Jordan rules, he would have scored 100 ala Wilt.
OJ is innocent lol stop
@@TommyCorleone Yeah and Con Queen with MJ dream and vaginal schemes of super-teams is the GOAT.
No one can come close to what Wilt did, and MJ's best outing is only 69 in double OT
61 points against the Bad Boys! That's greatness.
Dude just show up to work every night!
This is why people won't compare to this guy for decades to come. Dudes come in in a more offensive favored Era and still cant drop buckets like MJ did. Putting up 61 pts and averaging 37.1 ppg for a season with just a quick first step and a solid post game. Freakin nuts
🐐
Look who was guarding him 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
When Isaiah did not hate jordan
The end of the game was the best for me. Isaiah Thomas and Michael Jordan acknowledged one another. Hey you two have a meet and greet. Show the younger generation how to be men. Forget the past embrace and reconcile, all this dislike for one another sends a negative message to all who observe your actions. Mainly the younger generation that’s why beefs never get settled and situations turn violent. Reconciliation between you two won’t stop all untoward outcomes between individuals but it will demonstrate to others conflict resolution. Be men shake hands and apologize to one another
Imagine your rookie year scoring 61 points on the Bad Boy Pistons. Don't compare this man to any player
John Salley must of forgot this night. Guess this was the start of "The Jordan Rules "
Isiah. It's on his freaking jersey this game...
I remember you were ready to call it quits about 4 years ago, I miss the old J***** intro song with Rodman; I knew what time it was, bring that song back. Going back to those old vids now.
Your catalog missing bruh?

GOAT debate my ass!
Zeek is singing a different tune today about Jordan.
The man who lives vertically is young here.
Isiah ain't nothing compared to the living legend. Truthfully.
Nothing my ass. The man took a team of blue collars discredited by everybody to two rings in the most competitive era there has been. And it could have easily been 4. Guy put 25 in a quarter with a fucking broken leg on the Showtime Lakers, arguably the GOAT roster, in the finals. Do your homework, homie. Ball is much more than MJ, as amazing a player he was.
MJ with hair looks a lot like Shaka Zulu
This is the reason why Detroit started using those "Jordan Rules" because MJ would destroy them regularly. Once the Bulls got players talented enough to compete with Detroit, they knew their time was coming, so they turned to dirty play.
Destroy them regularly? In which Planet?
@@frandavilacardenes That you even question that MJ was dominate playing (not Bulls win - 2 different things) the Pistons, shows you know jack shit about that period of basketball.
Thomas and Laimbeer both have career winning records against the destroying fella. Read well. CAREER WINNING RECORDS. That means that your hero lost more games than he won "destroying" the Bad Boys.
Just like on his "God in basketball shoes" night. He got swept by Boston despite the propaganda you all live in.
The fact that you call MJ a "destroyer" against a team who consistently beat his ass in that era, proves that you are nothing but another boring fanboy.
@@frandavilacardenesYour on a video watching him score 60Pts on the bad boy Pistons and your still hating talking about what loaded team did vs 1 guy carrying a team
kang sh!t 👑
Where’s Scottie? Lol a rookie. Jordan was a legend before Scottie was remotely relevant. Mike showed that young gangly kid how to be great. He owes Mike EVERYTHING>
this could have been the reason why the pistons applied the jordan rules. isiah doesnt want to be overshadowed even in their homecourt. what a desperate and unsportsmanlike gesture from isiah and the bad boys. imagine this - hurting a player brutally to win games. what a shame!!!
That’s why MJ hired a personal trainer because he couldn’t beat the Pistons unless he became physically stronger. That’s how greatness overcomes adversity.
But that right there, I believe thats when I became the greatest player of all time. Lebum😂
Kobe who lebron who
I saw Isiah shaking hands. Yet in 91 he claimed to not know teams shook hands after a game.
Isaiah Thomas isn't Jordans rival.. Hell, Isaiah Thomas wasn't even born yet when this game was played.
U know they mean the other one
@@anthonytaylor7928 "the other one" , as if the new one was not a cheap copy of something that has been done before...Isiah Thomas , aka Zeke , is the original mf pure PG goat.
If Doug Collin’s would have remained the Bulls coach LeBron and everybody else would still be chasing the scoring record the triangle offense was designed to slow Mike down and get his teammates involved they would literally stand looking watching the show people forget
They also wouldn't have won any championships if Collins remained the coach.
Jordan Was Cool 😎 With Isaih Back Then Before Isaih Beat Him Head To Head 3 Years Straight In The Playoffs 88,89,90 Afterwards Jordan Never Liked Isaih No More.
