Not a fan of the the plastic extension of the A-post because the windshield is canted so far forward, but I am sure it makes for a much more spacious subcompact. Also not a fan of the floating roof, but it definitely has become a Nissan brand identity characteristic. Will never be interested in any vehicle with a CVT transmission. It is definitely an improvement over the previous Versa, especially inside, but my pick for subcompact in this class is without a doubt the Toyota Yaris, mostly because it is a Mazda design. It originally was called the Scion IA. Now that Scion is no longer though, Toyota adopted it as the Yaris.
Just spend the extra money and get a Civic or Corolla. You get three time the car for what, like an extra thousand? I honestly wonder who is buying these Versas...
Just get a used low mile focus ST or a Good used Chevy IMPALA . You will get a better Car for your money. Sure other cars might be good too but a ford or chevy drops in value quickly used. You can get a really good deal on a used hybrid too chevy volts and fusion hybrids are really good cars and used are a good value
I must be old fashioned, favoring function over style. What ever happened to bumpers that effectively served to absorb bumps with zero structural and even cosmetic damage? Oh, and rubber side moldings that prevented door dings... Versa....versatile? Not as much as a sedan...
@@RaitisRides Now that I have your attention, great jobs on your videos! You've quickly become my #1 for car news. Also I think if you and Doug Demuro made a video together it would be both amazing to see and an endlessly hilarious experience!
Booyah! I still don't trust the reliability, etc. factor of Nissans, including the nice new black Altima I saw the other day, but... I have to give props to this refreshed rendition of this car, although not as Versa-tile without the Hatchback as an option. Very nice restyling, and touches, and attention to detail for the SR version. For me, sport trim versions of any vehicle is the only way to go for myself, if available, and many of the brands have been strategically outfitting their offerings with the right 'performance', styling, design aesthetics and equipment for their respective price points, making it functional, and keeping the price down by making practical choices such as manual adjust seats, single zone A/C, but still looking nice, with decent infotainment and tech. Exterior and interior trim and styling is spot on for this SR model, including the flat bottom steering wheel. Nice orange stitching accents for the SR motif, and props for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB, and auxiliary audio input jack, and connectivity with the usb for the back seat as standard for the trim level, and not an added cost accessory. Zonk for the pointless driver's seat armrest. IMHO, if there was going to be one armrest, it should have been on the passenger seat. Other appointments and deletions expected for this vehicle category and price point, but very great value for a nicely equipped SR trim under $20K. Apparently good handling, and fuel economy. Sensible to not have paddle shifters. Engine should have at least 10 more horsepower for a 1.6L, but adequate, and expected for this car. Overall a very well done setup for a sporty subcompact Nissan at this price, but the major issue is, if you get a Nissan, go for the 6 speed manual if available, especially as opposed to a CVT. I am not sure how good the manual is for reliability and durability, but you will probably avoid the #1 potential major problem you may have by not getting the CVT. If there are no other major system defects in design or reliability with this car, the rest of the potential problems may be minor, and relatively inexpensive fixes, maybe few, if maintained and driven without abuse. I can see this selling very well.
Honda Civic LX sedan in manual. More power, better looking and has a more reliable engine. And only $300 more. And I'm not 100% on this, but I bet the Honda has a real armrest. The Nissan looks OK. Better than I thought it would, but the CVT and no armrest for the passenger is a no go for me. Honda for the win of best under $20k.
@@RaitisRides I'd buy a manual over an automatic any day. I have an 07 manual versa & love it. The driving experience, the fun, the one on one. The whole mechanics of it is really fascinating.
This car makes absolutely No sense at 20 grand. I'm a solid Hyundai/kia guy and was trying to get my wife to get one or the other. She wanted to look at the Altima first. Kia was selling a 2019 Cadenza for just under 32 thousand and that's the one I wanted her to get. She wanted all the bells and whistles so that was the perfect choice for only 32 grand. But we went in to the Nissan dealership and told them what we wanted to see. They took us to the SL trims which I looked up on my phone right away. I was already saying no as the car had a msrp of 33,000 . So we started to talk and the sales man said I can get you in this car for 25,000. I said if you get us in the SL AWD Altima for 25 thousand we'll take it. We left with a brand new 2019 Altima SL AWD for 25,687, before the trade in of her old car. Nissan is trying to sell the Altima, so if we can get a SL for just above 25, then you can get a lower trim for around the same price as that lower trimmed Versa

I got a 2020 nissan versa sv in monarch orange and i love it. i'm a toyota girl but thats just the car i ended up leaving the lot with lol i think i dropped the gun too fast and didnt bother to see what else other cars i could potentially buy 😂 but its all good, i'm GRATEFUL. GOD IS GOOOOOOOD!!!!! I have videos of my car on my channel as well
As for the interior, I like the brown inserts.
AGREED!
Very excited about the new Sentra any news when it will be released, the trims and the price
From what I understand it will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show.
Looks to be improved. Lost me at CVT. Maybe they improved. Maybe stick shift if available 👍
Did they finally give this car power windows, locks or anything?
Was that versa spitting flame? Sleeper.
LMAO!
AUX jack makes it a Winner!!
Yes sir!
Not my dream car, but def the car I'm buying cause it's affordable. But best believe I'm getting top trim and all the options...
I totally agree with your points!
Just spend the extra money and get a Civic or Corolla. You get three time the car for what, like an extra thousand? I honestly wonder who is buying these Versas...
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Hala Heleu just bought a 2012 civic yesterday
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Congrats!
I must be old fashioned, favoring function over style. What ever happened to bumpers that effectively served to absorb bumps with zero structural and even cosmetic damage?
Oh, and rubber side moldings that prevented door dings...
Versa....versatile? Not as much as a sedan...
GREAT VIDEO! But, I don’t want any Nissan. Nissan is owned by Renault and Quality is very bad.
A modern nissan altima optioned out is better than u expect
Actually Renaults are pretty reliable in France. Learn to think for yourself and stop watching so much scotty Kilmer
06XTOR lol

06XTOR you said it yourself France. We are not in France
Very good Review and your Logical. Its not a BMW!!
"That's an engine"
*Gasps*
LMAO!
I love the way that you put everything!
Sometimes, you know, growing up sucks.

It's true! LOL
is this having Multi link suspension or beam Bar ????
beam
most likely it is torsion beam , still need to do my homework , because you said manual version was 6 speed , which indeed was 5 speed ....
He's so hung up on looking good. No hybrid no nothing.
Thanks for sharing your feedback Linda!
Just like a Nissan buttons for touch screen broken before it even leaves the lot... lol
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Probably feels every bump on the road worse than the hatchback.
Not at all actually.
I totally agree with you!
That's the problem. Nissan pricing this car way to much. Why buy versa when Sentra is better option
Make a video of 2014 versa hashback pls
I will track that down together for you.
Nice i prefer the hand brake
Major player in this segment
I totally agree!
Does the base model have crank windows?
No it does not.
Just get the Honda Fit with a manual
That is a good way to go but you and I both know less people are buying manuals or can can even drive one.
@@RaitisRides I'd buy a manual over an automatic any day. I have an 07 manual versa & love it. The driving experience, the fun, the one on one. The whole mechanics of it is really fascinating.
I have the 1st gen & I have 122hp &127 torque, that’s just a down grade cmon...(does look cool tho)
They did improve the look.
Thanks Johhny for sharing your great thoughts and input!
A date car, thanks buddy. At least I know where to put my Binaca and breath mints. Great review as always👍
This dude is paid by Nissan to say that stuff
the manual version : 5 speed or 6 ????
6-speed
I did my home work , it is 5 speed .....
