Temu is dangerously addictive! I've made 4 large miniature hauls. I took have had a few issues with the sizing of miniatures. I've ended up with full size items as well. Rest assured, you are not the only one who had issues with scaling sizes😂
This was fun to watch. Absolutely hilarious that you received stuff that was too big. Most people are always complaining that things are smaller than expected.
Their returns are really easy and good. And they do have the hanging garlic and peppers in miniature too. Lol. I would have done the same. I would return the damaged items and hanging veggies :)
I got the biggest chuckle over the vegetables being too large. I certainly understand, lol. I wanted peaches for a fruit basket in my Dollhouse and got some slightly larger than 1:6 Scale. I was avoiding making some, now, I will have too. Temu has become an obsession for miniature purchases. Ask me how much I have spent and I will tell you, "too much." I have wanted a kettle and after seeing yours it is perfect. Thank you for that! Have a wonderful day and thank you again for the laugh!
You know who would love those big vegetables would be your local high school play department. Anytime they have to set up a kitchen there's no budget for those things but they would look great. 👍
For the shell box…there are hot glue sticks that have a real glue in them, or you could use grout, I mosaic tiled a plinth once….you have to lay the wet side up till it dries, then shift to next “wall” and so on. (You can add clear sparkle to the grout for a little more whimsy)
I have done lots of seashell crafts. Hot glue works on most surfaces, but I have also used E6000. E6000 will be more permanent. Enjoy your channel. I am a crafter/diyer, and I love miniatures! ❤
I have made a lot of food items in clay and they turned out so nice. I made a miniature bakery and I won a Blue Ribbon at the Ohio State Fair. I have 3 dollhouses and love all of them. I love miniatures. I also made a miniature store.
That sounds like so much fun, I would really like to start making miniatures as well. :) Entering them in a fair also sounds like fun, I have entered baked goods in our county fair and its always so exciting to win a ribbon. Miniature stores are so fun to look at! :)
You can use the fabric squares and fold them around a narrow piece of cardboard or popsicle stick to use for the bolts of fabric. I picture Olsens Mercantile from Little house on the Praire. Your store may be a bit more modern but I think it might still work well.😊
I built a corner fire place will living in Florida for my granddaughter. I redecorated a dollhouse for her for Christmas a few years ago. But I covered it all in tiny shells, gluing with Aline’s tacky glue. They all held very well. I also made an other one and used tiny Little Rock’s I gathered from outside. Again they held awesomely.
I just saw the garlic and chillies and laughed. Usually it’s the other way around. People order something thinking it’s full sized and instead they get a Persian rug the size of a coaster.
I also like E6000 for most things, gorilla wood glue is good. For very small items I often use super glue gel (as long as it's not plastic or glass cuz that will fog up from the fumes). And Quick Grip is like E6000 but not quite as thick & is faster drying. That one is good too, might be ideal for your shell box. It also is good for gluing rhinestones cuz it doesn't mess with the silver backing like other glues do.
Oh, forgot to say.. That pen uses the same blade I use in my Cricut machine.. So I'm curious to know how well that works. .. and yes, I remember the sand paintings.. I loved those.. so relaxing to watch.
I would go back with some of the fruits & breads and use some powdered chalk pastels to add some additional shading for a more realistic look. Same thing can be done to the furniture for a natural aging look. Just spray seal it when done with workable fixatif or matte clear spray sealer so it doesn't rub off. You can also lightly sand the furniture in spots for natural wear to make it look more aged and realistic. Otherwise it kinda kills the believability when everything has that shiny new finish and is kinda monochromatic flat in color.
The tape usually means custom selected and opened it for inspection. They then tape it up to complete transit. It is just part of stopping the illegal trade, sale and smuggle of bad items. I wouldn’t have thought that major retailer’s were subject until I was watching the series Smugglers. Corp Wharehouse shipping of paint. Entire semi of it. Dog sniff lead to all being open- Several hundred gallon size buckets of paint- 40 random buckets had fentanyl instead of paint. Customs had to open test and reclose every one of those several hundred buckets. So even the big retailers have to be inspected due to people at the Wharehouse using the mass transfer as a rathole into other markets for items.
E6thousand is the best glue but u need to use in a ventilated area like maybe outside cause it’s toxic to breath in u can also use a mask made for it I hope it helps
You are making an old-fashioned Sailor's Valentine box. Use a glue that holds/grabs quickly. Word to the wise, you will need 2-3x the amount of shells that you think you'll need.😊❤🐚🐚
Hi great miniature haul! I also do miniatures, but I'm still doing kits. But I have been getting miniatures for my stash for when I want to either add things to my kits or venture out on my own. Also watch for the lighting deals, most items are less than $1. TFS 🥰
That little dresser is beautiful. Definitely return it and the chess set. I haven't had to return anything yet, but They do have a great return policy, and even when I was leaving my review if I left less than 5 stars they asked me if I'd like to return the item for a refund or replacement. All those tools are fabulous. They have so many nice items made of metal for great prices. ** I should finish videos before commenting.. haha Sorry.. I'm glad they refunded your money, and hope you can repair the items they let you keep**
@@AprilsHome Me too. I just ordered some stuff yesterday. It's a dangerous website. I have to have a lot of self control not to buy everything I see.. haha
Hiya! How are you? Love your video, I'm very new to the whole miniatures fun, I found some great bits on Temu, I was just wondering if you had a link for the drawers, the ones that were broken, so pretty, I looked and searched like crazy but couldn't find them. Please and thank you, really appreciate it. :)
I have a few of the sand and water scenes that I bought on Amazon. The only problem with them is they usually have too much air in them and don't work as well as advertised. Would love to find one you can add water to.
I have one of the sand things that I received from my uncle after his passing. Mine is pink and white, I used to play with it when I was a child. Mine glows in the dark. You may want to check yours out to see if yours that does the same. Mine is placed by the lamp next to my bed.
Have you considered making your own veggies with Fimo clay? I made a veg garden and filled it with handmade vegs. It was much cheaper and alot of fun lol
I definitely am considering starting to learn to make miniatures out of Fimo, I picked up an assortment of Fimo colors a few weeks ago at my craft store, so hopefully I can give that a try. :)
8:41 It depends on what you want to glue the shells to. If it can handle heat without a problem, my suggestion is hot glue. But if it's something that's heat sensitive, or something with a glossy finish, hot glue probably wouldn't be a good choice. Hot glue tends to peal off of glossy surfaces like glass or china. In a case like that I would suggest a 2 part clear epoxy.
I've seen people use hot glue for sea shells, but that always looks TACKY and messy--I would try UHU glue or fume-free Loctite Extreme glue. [Great Video!!]
Aleene’s Quick Grip or Regular Tacky Glue works just fine for shell crafts. I made reproduction shell sailor valentines and have not had any issues with shells coming off. Make sure you prime and paint your wood box before gluing on the shells.
These items are available on Temu.com :) Unless they are sold out, items tend to go in and out of stock, but they always have a fun selection of dollhouse miniatures.
