OMG; Shelly, I cried my eyes out when you got emotional, and explained why you won’t use trash bags on your kids 😭 As a foster child myself, I am just so happy that these kids have a mama that loves them and respects their dignity as much as you do. I totally get what you are saying too, I was a child that used trash bags (even for school); and when I went into care, my bio mother sent literal trash with a letter for my foster family saying “you wanted our rubbish (me), so here’s the rest” 🇦🇺 I’m 33 now; I wish I had been adopted, but I feel that God’s plans were to shape me into the strong independent woman I am today. He knew I could survive it, and He knew my heart; I also believe that He lead me to this channel, so your family could encourage me to work on my next steps,.. and open my life to kids just like yours, and like myself.
You missed a perfect opportunity! You could have shown Aubrey a picture of her lighter hair from a previous chat book to demonstrate the difference in shades! LOL.
A tip for picking out hair color it’s best for it to match your skin tone so if your cool skin toned you should do a cool dark brown and warm brown for warm toned it makes a subtle difference that makes a huge difference in the outcome!🤗
Without looking at any of the other comments I’m just gonna say that the cut and update in color look amazing on Aubrey! I think it even gives her a slightly more mature look, and it definitely accentuates her natural beauty, especially the color of her eyes!
Tell her to screenshot a frame in the video before and after and hair dye. She will see the difference then. Also, for the first experience with hair dye it’s much much much better to think you didn’t Change it enough than you think you did too much and feel like you’ve “ruined” your hair! Great job Shelly. Aubrey, your hair looks FANTASTIC! The color looks really great on you, it's darker but not too dark where it looks too hard with your features. This is just a perfect color match for you! And the slightly red tint to it makes it not look flat which some box dyes tend to do. I'd say you picked the perfect shade! And the length is also very flattering on you, your hair looks super healthy and shiny. Also, take this from someone with experience, it's always better to pick the lighter shade if you have two options. You can always go back later and put on a darker toner if you want that little extra, but if you dye it too dark, there's not really much you can do about it. Also har dye may come off darker or lighter than it looks on the box, depending on what color your hair is before, how healthy it is, how thick it is etc.

Some may take offense that you took a video about her sister and decided to turn it around to be about lacie. Im not trying yo start any problems, but I think it was hurtful to make it sound like she needs something changed.

Ooh, that’s the brand I use and almost the same color. I use #3 Espresso it’s a beautiful rich brown and last time I found the same thing, but without all the harsh chemicals. I love that brand!

Your so sweet that years later you remember that it might trigger some emotions not just for you but for the children you have. Im so scared to be a foster/adoption mama cause what if I couldn't provide them with everything. I yell too much and feel like my approach isn't the one needed for these kids maybe when I'm older more mature can really control my emotions and be there emotially for these kids and be nothing but supportive and understanding to their specific needs.

a lil tip for when you'r deying someones hair: put some moisturizer on the parts where there is skin showing so when that person showers, the dye/tint doesn't stay on the skin! I do it with my mom every time!
I think Aubrey might have wanted a cool-toned brown, and not a warm-toned brown. I think she wanted to get rid of the red tones. That's why she said it looks the "same" ...... but It still looks GREAT. Beautiful Aubrey!
