GARDEN VLOG | What to fill garden boxes with? We make raised beds for vegetables

Hi! In today's video, I talk about how to fill raised beds to take advantage of their potential :) I also talk about why we decided to use such garden boxes instead of making traditional beds.
Such raised beds are a great solution when the soil in your garden is not very good. In our case, the soil is heavy and clayey, which means that in spring you can lose your Wellington boots, and in summer it's hard to stick a spade in ;) Additionally, such raised beds are comfortable, nicely mark the boundaries of the garden and (in my opinion) are aesthetic :D Another advantage - my dog ​​will doesn't trample on vegetables and roll in them like last year :)
What to make raised beds out of? To make the vegetable beds, we used 4th grade pine boards that we had left over from making formwork. All we had to do was cut them into appropriate pieces and tap out the remaining concrete. Thanks to this, the boards have a second life and will not go to waste, and I am happy because I will have a dream vegetable garden in boxes :)
What size raised bed is appropriate? Our garden boxes are 40 cm high and dimensions 1 x 2.5 m. In my opinion, this height and width are optimal, you can reach everywhere and weed such beds comfortably. We made 1-meter-wide spaces between the garden boxes.
