Nearly 20 years ago, I got a neighbor with heavy mental issues screaming all day and night, and this wasn´t funny at all, I can tell you. She also got physical on her parents. Finally, this "family" changed their apartment nearly at the same time when I bought a house which was a weird coincidence. Civil War diaries are still in the mix of my research. I alternate them with my other research items. They take a little longer because I'm trying to match up their dated entries with what was going on during the war on that day and of course I end up down many rabbit holes!

Hey Renee - I forgot about your interest in older "strong man" ephemera. Looks like you got some good additions to that collection today. Great Yellowstone items. The first two cars you pulled from Philip's box at about 32:00 are part of a Barclay Manoil collection. My Dad had these growing up (40s). I got him a few more and the car carrier that goes with for a birthday one time - took me a long time to figure out what they were, as I recall. Not crazy expensive but not cheap. Of course the death notices are always sad but remind us of how far we've come in helping newborns survive the first year. So - research opportunities abound from today's mail! I believe there is a beautiful lake in Sunapee, NH where I was fortunate enough to spend a weekend once as a kid. Probably will freeze soon! Keep warm over the next few weeks. And by the way, the best way to add peppermint flavor to tea (or anything else) is Peppermint Schnapps!

Could you infuse peppermint flavoring into your hot drink by using a candy cane as a stirstick? A drop from the peppermint extract, baking aisle, may work also. You should take a trip up to Moosinee on the Moose River in northern Ontario. Moose Flats and Moose Factory is there also. Don't think they build moose there though? Great items as ushuall, always fun to see the openings! 👍👍 (P.S. - didn't hear the neighbours' music 🎶)
I tried the peppermint coffee today and eh... perhaps I didn't use enough grounds in the brewing, or the half-n-half wasn't enough, but it wasn't too good. I'll try again tomorrow to see if I can master the iced coffee. I usually buy pre-made cold brew coffee & then I add the peppermint mocha creamer. Finding the right ground coffee to use for cold brew has been tricky. Oh the world of iced coffee making! Haha. No moose making at the factory?? Darn it!

One of the things I collect are stereo cards. Some of the cards aren't very good, but some produce some very nice 3-D images. There are some pretty fancy viewers out there, made of ornate brass, but there are also some relatively inexpensive basic wood models. Fun fact: Brian May of Queen is into stereoscopy and has published a book with modern stereo images.

I love history and your chanel soo much!!! I keep going back and forth from newer videos to your older videos. Soo many awesome things you have found or have been sent to you!! The Moose letters remind me of Merry Christmas blomy family and I made for gifts one year. We cut out the blocks and painted and aged them and made wooden Christmas trees on a peg on the top of one of the blocks. They are soo much fun and they are such a wonderful memory for me.

The post cards were fantastic, especially since they are related to something you hold near and dear. Such great subscribers/friends out there. I also noticed when you did close ups, your camera focused in on the items really quickly. Not sure if different camera or just right setup but it made watching even better.
I removed the blanket I usually have over the back of the couch, which could have caused some issues with focusing before. Or perhaps since I had to remove my lens due to the damage on my camera, that actually helps with focusing now!
You have so many kind and generous subscribers! I drink at least 2 cups of coffee a day. Sometimes I will add a package of Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix directly into a cup of freshly brewed hot coffee. I know they make a peppermint flavored mix. You can also make a syrup out of milk, sugar, unsweetened Cocoa powder, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract.
