Wow, great timing on this one. Planning on going to the grand Aston in a month. Haven’t booked yet, want to see some finished pictures first, but it could be a gem. Amazing to me tho they still see enough of a market to continue building.
We are currently working on a new video featuring the Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort, we should publish it in a couple of days, stay tuned! :-)
Oh my god, I have been digging real hard to get the little info available for the new Aston. I can’t wait for your video as we are on the fence to book for next week! Do you know if access to the beach is completed and whether there is still construction on the resort? The resorts is now bookable but there is little to no real pictures or videos.
Hope you will like our Grand Aston video, it's a mix of some of our personal photos and videos, combined with more recent photos (real photos!) shared by the director of the Cuban Tourism Office in Toronto , as well as some of the designer illustrations shared by the hotel group.
Many of the photos in our upcoming video are from around 10 days ago (mid-October 2022), I'm not sure if the resort will be "fully" completed and 100% operational for the first few weeks, but based on these photos everything seems nice and ready, we will know more when the first tourists arrive. Maybe not all rooms will be open at first, soft openings are common.

Hi Normand, I plan to visit this hotel on January, since I travel with young children I would like to know if there are a lot of mosquitoes in this area?
Also, are there other works in the area? or is it quiet enough? Thanks . Can t wait to see your video
The last time we visited Cayo Paredon, the hotel was not open yet, there were tons of mosquitoes, but I think that's normal since the island was still virgin then. I guess they will do a lot of fumigation (like they usually do) when the hotel is open.
If you watch the video between 1:52 and 2:03 minutes, you'll see that there are 3 other hotels being built to the west of the Grand Aston, but at the moment (late October) it seems that most of the current construction works is at the opposite end of Playa del Norte, so far enough from the Grand Aston.

We visited in May, at the beginning of the wet season. I'm quite certain they will fumigate, they usually do in most tourist areas.
