Many people in India are not that learned. All of them do not have knowledge of all states and political correctness. They are from poor background and the only learning they have is from performance perspective where racist and other similar types of jokes are common. Regardless, I don't think they mean any harm. They are trying to earn money. The writers of such shows are not people who have graduated from colleges. They are mostly people who dropped out of school to pursue such things. Here I think they know about Nagaland, but still want to show the mentality of normal people in India and what they think about East. It is a harsh reality how people in different parts of the country feel about other parts.
