“Selamat” means happy. You went around the cabin going “happy!” - which I guess is fine, but weird 🤷🏻♂️ “Selamat datang” is welcome, which explains why the FAs were taken aback by what you said and one of them responded “selamat malam,” or good evening or, literally, happy evening/night. A+ for effort but you confused the hell out of everybody.
