    Thank you so much for this video. It made my bulb replacement eady.
    I did make a mistake by disconnecting both push-pull cables from the panel. The most difficult part of my job was pushing the cable jackets back into their retainment bracket. The force required must have been over 50 pounds. Eventually, I disconnected the cable from the mixer plenum to ease the job. After that was finally done, the range of travel for temperature was full cold to medium. But adjusting the cable in the clip fixed that.
    Nice to have the panel properly illuminated.

    Very helpful video. My A/C switch was broken so had to replace the whole temperature control unit. Was tentative about prying panels off until I saw how they came off in the video. Showing how to disconnect the heater cables was a big help as well. Thanks.

    I have a 03' Rav4 and I been wanting to change that orange cluster color to a white or blue. Could you make a video on how to change the cluster bulbs and the process?

    Hey, are the cluster bulbs the same size?

    Do you have a video on replacing the lights on the instrument cluster as well? I haven't been able to find a video on this, and in a forum I read, they were saying the lights were LED's and permanently soldered in place. I was hoping to replace the lights with something brighter, but maybe that's not possible?

    • @Snipeoff
      @Snipeoff  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately I haven't taken that apart I don't have any info for ya...but they could possibly be soldered in, although I would find it hard to believe they would make you solder or replace the whole cluster just for a possible burned out bulb

    @snipeoff, 1) does it have to buy different colours? stock ones has some red and some blue for the thermometer. 2) about the size you mentioned, T5 is too big, so next size down is T4.2, will it work? or may have to go down to T3? awaits your information. 3) can u measure diamter of the base ? the black colour plastic. Thank you.

      Don't have the car anymore unfortunately, you don't have to buy different colors, the colors are in the face plate of the controls, 4.2 may work, I wish I knew for sure

    So... I watched this because the cooler switch knob on my 2001 Toyota Rav4 needs to be replaced and I was hoping to get an idea of how to replace it since I can't really find much online about my car... Since you said you've messed with stuff in there before do you know if I would have to take the whole assembly apart to replace just the exterior A/C knob/button or can I just pop it out without taking the dash apart? To give you an idea of what it's doing... the A/C works just fine but the button will randomly pop out if I hit a bump or something causing the A/C to turn off and it takes some finagle-ing to get it to stay pushed in again.

      So I had to review my footage, as I no longer have the car unfortunately. But if you looks at the point where I have the buttons off starting at 4:30, you can she where the button should clip on it's the green little switch top left corner. Also watch starting at 9:00 and look where I'm describing how the buttons clip in including the part I mention the flasher button. I think your issue might be that the AC button is not clipping on completely to the micro switch. Or the clips on the switch or button are broken. Unfortunately I don't remember if you can get the buttons back in properly without removing the panel. I hope this helps, let me know

      @@Snipeoff I had watched those parts pretty carefully... but my mechanic is pretty sure it's the exterior knob that needs to be replaced so I wasn't sure if maybe I could get away with not having to take it apart. I'll figure it out. This at least gave me the confidence that I won't destroy anything if I have to take it apart. I appreciate you responding so quickly.

    • @Snipeoff
      @Snipeoff  Рік тому

      Double check that the temp control knob is installed right and that cable is attached at both ends. More than likely it's not and stuck on hot. Not sure about the AC switch itself...let me look at a couple things. I would check if the AC button properly engaged into the micro switch
