    Addiction is a sneaky bastard. After some sober time, the brain blocks out the painful memory of withdrawal and starts romantasizing the drug again, thinking of the "good times" with it, convincing itself that this time will be different, I'll do it moderately etc. You can never let your guard down

    2 weeks clean from weed here as a heavy user for a couple years. I realized that it gets to a point where weed is smoking you and you not smoking it. Life is better without the need to get high all day. Anyone who is on the path to being sober, only you can do it and make the decision to be better, no one else but you. Peace and blessings everyone trying to improve, it’s not easy.✌🏽😎

    I think one of the influences that caused me to waste over a decade being stoned every day, ruin countless relationships, waste untold amounts of money, and avoid lucrative new job opportunities, was the fact that when I was young it was common for people to say that weed is not a real drug and is not addictive. It kind of put a cloak around my very really and concerning addiction which likely prevented me from addressing it sooner. Things had to start falling apart around me in obvious ways for me to put two and two together.

      Potheads have been insisting for decades that weed is not only completely non-addictive, it’s a miracle herb that will cure any and all illnesses and can never cause any harm. Which is ridiculous of course, nothing that powerful can also be completely benign. Common sense needs to be more common.

    23 y/o and on day 27. Relapsed at around the same time as Logan Paul this year haha after getting 100 days at the beginning of the years watching this channel. I gotta say, relapse and recovery is so much more complex than I previously thought, where relapses happen we never thought would. Good news though, I barely felt the first two weeks, probably due to my previous recovery time. The last week has been the tough one with brain fog, but I am starting to get out of the barrel once again with a great little job and studying my sales course. I relapsed this summer due to financial success and spending power. Don’t let success get you back into addiction. Also, avoid marijuana promoting music such as wiz and snoop(just like Logan for me hahaha) as listening to them combined with cash in my pocket led to my relapse. Best of luck to anybody here getting ready to make 2023 their best year yet!

    • @TomBlatildush
      @TomBlatildush 2 роки тому +4

      When we fear the lion in front of us, its good. It keeps us alive. When we fear the lion that’s a continent away, we just stress and hurt ourselves with our own mind.
      5 weeks off means you’ve probably passed the hardest parts of it! Enjoy it, and try not to scare yourself with something that might not happen.
      Also, studies on stress tell us that our perspective has a surprising amount of influence over the body’s stress response. When we turn a threat into a challenge, our body responds very differently.
      Psychologist and Molecularbiologist dr.Epel and dr.Blackburn explain that it is our response to the stress that is most important. They encourage us to develop stress resilience. This involves turning what is called “threat stress,” or the perception that a stressful event is a threat that will harm us, into what is called “challenge stress,” or the perception that a stressful event is a challenge that will help us grow. The remedy they offer is quite straightforward. One simply notices the fight-or-flight stress response in one’s body-the beating heart, the pulsing blood or tingling feeling in our hands and face, the rapid breathing-then remembers that these are natural responses to stress and that our body is just preparing to rise to the challenge.

Weed isn't bad but once it gets in our bodies it hooks us....we go back to our old addicted selves...people who smoke need to detox it out every time...being non-active and smoking will always lead to a bad addiction I believe. I'm on DAY 13 and I have no urges to smoke again but if I had it in front of me...a puff would make the next 2-3 hours of my day 100x better but in the long run, it will make my life 100x worse. It’s all subjective with the severity of addiction that occurs with thc, if any. Everybody’s body is different and for the most part it is extremely hard to become addicted to it from my experience and dozens of others I have met in recovery. Some smoke weed and go back to their DOC, some stay away and do the cali sober thing. I met a guy in recovery that was about to saw his leg off or kill himself because the pain in his foot was so bad, and he refused to take opiates again. He started growing his own herb with a strain that worked for him and he has 20 years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol, other than his prescribed thc. My doctor’s son had that epileptic autism at birth and cbd and thc have literally saved their life. I hit a crossroads with shoulder, back and neck pain and considered getting back on suboxone but became a medical patient and it saved me thus far. Just because it doesn’t work for you and many others doesn’t make it bad for everyone.

    I been smoking for over 23 years...and quit recently for a few months. damn it is the hardest thing in my life to do. still having brainfog and cravings but most of the bad stuff has passed. No wonder some countries have the death penalty for hard drugs. Weed is a hard drug, at least the modern high potency ones. Stay away from it, you will regret it for life

    Keeping it buck 50. Just quit. Videos like this make it seem like such a big deal and blah blah blah it’s so hard. It truthfully isn’t. It is difficult for you because your heart isn’t in the right place. When YOU fully decide to quit. YOU WILL QUIT! Videos like this are simply just going to scare people into addiction due to vilifying detox. It’s not bad. Worst part is literally the cravings. Which can be subdued with exercise and meditation. Not saying it’s easier than eating cake. But When your hearts in the right place it’s not much more difficult either. Just my mindset with it anyways. Stay sober fam

      I think unless you're feeling the full benefits from weed there's no point. It needs to be an enjoyable experience with giggles ect. to be a great time... After I have my my hit or two I wish to leave it at minimum a month or two between each session. Don't make it a pick me up. Make it something for celebration and only that.
