    One thing that would help me with your videos is to share specific colors you used in the painting such as which blue. And on your flowers, which pink. It would help me to gradually build my color choices. If that was specified below in the materials, it would help. I thank you so much for sharing your talent and techniques. I will definitely try this one.

    Another fun and easy (sort of) painting for our family to enjoy, as they always do with your video's, Emma. Thanks for bringing quiet time to our noisy household! As for erasers? Try "Vanish." Doesn't ruin the texture of your wc paper. BTW--maybe sometime you could do an ocean wave, one that's curling, lots of spray? You're the BEST teacher out there, Emma. Don't let anyone intimate that you're not. Anyway, happy week to you, and many thanks!

    This is one I definitely will be trying. I painted an Orca in acrylics for my daughter for her birthday and would love to do one in watercolor. Thank you for this video.
    Update: After watching this video I decided to give it a try. I would love to share my picture with you is there some way of doing that? Thank you for the inspiration.

    Hey, it's not pink!!! Yes, you are definitely teaching something when you're sketching. For me, sketching is the hardest part of this process so watching you helps. Thanks!

    Great work Emma, I love 💕 to learn with your ideas, suggestions. I like the solution you use to tell us the material you use. Please keep your videos. Maybe some gardens and parks could give great paints .👍

    Question: how do you know what colors to use for lights and shadows? I know you're going to do a video on it in the near future, but how, where, & what colors do you know to use? And here's another plug for a curling ocean wave! Thanks, Emma! :)

    That was so much fun! Also, I'm new enough to watercolor that I didn't know that tracing was an option. I tried it using my Kindle as a lightbox and it was super easy. It feels like cheating, but my freehand drawing skills are pretty rusty and while I'm working on improving them, it was amazing to be able to quickly trace the shape of the whale and, with your incredible guidance, turn it into a painting that I really love. What a treat! Thank you!

      joyflg1rl I don’t recommend tracing if you’re painting something to sell or for commercial use. BUT if you are still practicing or learning and creating something for yourself, go right ahead! It also helps you learn the shapes and proportions. I also recommend tracing real photos rather than someone else’s artwork.

      @@EmmaLefebvre: I'm definitely not trying to sell anything at this point. I'm just loving the opportunity to play. :)

    This looked great. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear it ... well, barely. You are so talented and I love your videos. But I really love hearing your explanations.

      Debbie Buttars can I suggest headphones and the volume control? I am hard of hearing and I know we are all different but I can hear her perfectly using my headphones.

    • @melissamesser3740
      @melissamesser3740 5 років тому

      I couldn't hear it, either, I thought that maybe it was my crappy laptop. I had to set my phone up on Bluetooth, and sync it with the laptop, so I could hear and see.
      Thank you, Emma for the video! I'll keep trying until I can make it look good!
      By the way, when people post their art on social media, do you want them to tag you, or reference you, or are the notifications annoying?

      Lyn delaney I actually just cut my 9”12 arches paper into quarters so I get the most out of one piece.

    "killer whales, orcas what ever you call it" have some respect for these animals. Their proper name are Orcas not 'its" Other than that it was a great video
