Back to the 1/8 to start dialing in the new setup! Coming along, but still plenty to learn and do...

- Although we are still on some 235 street tires, we need to continue working on getting this thing to hook and book the best that we can. The car has been switched over to Ethanol fuel, got some much needed bigger brakes, but is still running on a modest 10 psi of boost until we get a boost controller installed. I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but the car is running great and is getting closer to being a high 6 second in the 1/8 street car. Who knows, maybe someday we will get it on some slicks and shoot for even better numbers, but for now....We just have to take it one step at a time and enjoy every last moment of it. Whether the accomplishments are big, or small, it's always a good time going to the drag strip with some friends!

Interesting tune stuff. I just set up a 2step with the factory PCM. There's 1/8 mile track that just opened up in NY that I'm gonna hit soon. Hoping I can shave a couple tenths off my best. Had a 1.99 pussy footing the clutch. I'm counting on my new adjustable coilovers to get rid of the he wheel hop
10:14 😭
Seems like its working good. The fun of drag racing a stick shift car. Once you go with slicks A Hydro/Staging Brake And A Magnus Launch Control Device is super helpful ton of stick shift pros use it. I had to run those to stop breaking stuff on my AWD honda on street slicks kept breaking axles t cases driveshafts etc. and the launch control device gives you consistent launches it does all the work for you just side step it once u have it setup and dialed
I've looked into a dual caliper setup for an s550, but it'll have to wait due to the cost. I could probably just use the singles, but I'd love to see the little wilwoods back there haha. I'm definitely going to be looking into slicks soon, but it sure is thrilling to hook and go on the 235 hard tires haha
pull the launch control out and let it eat. your clutch should be your launch control untill thats mastered than bring in the helpers.
You're definitely right. Seemed like the more I took away from the launch control, the better it did. Was fun to mess around with and see how it worked, but on this particular track/prep it was completely unnecessary. Suppose I was just worried about spinning because that's all I was doing at Mooresville last week haha. Thank you for the input! I'll definitely follow what you're saying.
i perfer a little tire spin, most of my rigs feel like there gonna explode if they dead hook lol id push the limit on the tires to see how hard she really gets down. i havent really looked into the mustang irs cappabilitlys but i know that magnum can take what ever its got for a while. wish the tracks were open around here.
Well, I mean, like excessive spinning... like all the way through the 60' haha the tires are just little 235s with a 300 Treadwear. And yeah it's nice. Luckily the weather has allowed for the tracks to start opening up here in NC.
Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should.
JK, It must be great to be able to abuse the T56 and not have to worry about destroying the transmission like the AR5.
Oh, for sure it is! And the ratio spread is so much better for keeping the car in power. We did a good 7 or 8 passes that day and there's no chance the AR5 would've stayed together. I was happy about breaking the CV axle to be honest. Just shows we're heading in the right direction!
What's the newest on the black car?
10:40 😂😂
3:32 lmao 200 mph and 4 second pass 😂 man thinks he's a rocket scientist
13:35 I almost spoke too soon. Glad it's not a transmission this time!
What was the psi on the tires?
69. Nice
