It's an cover on YM2151+SegaPCM, not Genesis YM2612+SN76489. ;-) "YM2151 was used in many arcade game system boards, starting with Atari's Marble Madness in 1984, then Sega arcade system boards from 1985, and then arcade games from Konami, Capcom, Data East, Irem, and Namco, as well as Williams pinball machines, with its heaviest use in the mid-to-late 1980s. It was also used in Sharp's X1 and X68000 home computers." Source Wikipedia "SegaPCM is the colloquial name of a PCM playback technology created by engineers at Studio 128 in 1985. It was originally implemented as discrete logic chips before being consolidated into a series of custom ASICs. It was mainly used in the Super Scaler series of high-end Sega arcade systems. Ironically this really makes it sound like Ridge Racer 1, it makes sense considering that game's OST was very heavily inspíred by The Prodigy alongside a multitude of other early 90s techno but still, SEGA hardware sounding like Namco's hardware. Great stuff.
Where could it sound?I mean. Mega Drive couldn't do this alone, per se. Do those channels correspond to Mega Drive+Mega CD+32X? Only Mega Drive with the extra channels from Mega CD? Or this is far away of Drive capabilities?
Was not expecting you to do a mix of a classic track from my favorite band. Amazing!
And I wasn't expecting a comment from you, here, of all places.
for a website that gets tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of video uploads per day youtube sure does feel small sometimes
same it's kinda cool, also never expected to see you here
Amazing! And that's the best YM2151 piano patch I've ever heard.
Prodigy music on Sega Mega Drive? You just cannot get more 90s than this!

As someone who loves both the prodigy and the megadrive-esque sound this is a match made in heaven for me personally
That piano patch is stellar! Super impressive!
Damn dude, if you keep this up, the PCM channels are going to EXPLODE
Can't wait to analyse the vgm for this! I would love to hear your take on Ridge Racer and Tekken in this style
This would be in Streets of Rage! Amazing!
Yuzo said he was inspired by this very band
Gives off a sort of ‘Streets of Jet Set Rageo’ vibe, if y'ask me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🛼🥊🪩
First time arcade remixing with the arcade huh? BTW its amazing
Always impressed how you succeed in keeping the same energy as the original, congrats.
Prodigy in 16-bit? Whoa, hold your horses a bit there!
Sounds so damn close to the original!
Incredible work!
Kind of ironic because a lot of the sampling The Prodigy did was using 12 bit hardware. Obviously different paradigms tho
Holy shit that FM piano is impressive af!
based prodigy enjoyer
Это было очень неожиданно! Недавно прослушивал этот альбом❤
Absolutely amazing cover!
Can't help but to wonder how the XGM driver for the 2612 would handle this.
HOLY CRAP THE PRODIGY
thanks a ton, i love them!
Omg the nostalgic banger!!!
Absolutely smashed this one, brilliant 💜

Great stuff.
This is absolutely amazing!
Thank you for this.

I wasn’t expecting this, a cover of a banger of a track and an amazing and faithful cover.
Incredible
WOW! this sounds amazing! would love to see more of their tracks covered by you, if this is something you enjoy doing :0 maybe a cover of Girls? :]
Love it. How about some Chemical brothers for the next one?

Have you ever considered doing Neo Geo style covers??
...just listen to it.
Was not expecting Savaged Regime to do something that isn’t YM2612+SN76489-related.
Would be dope to hear a remix of fire at some point
YEEEEEAAAASSS!!!
You master better with a YM2151 than I do with full access to FL Studio. Teach me your ways, senpai. =D
You're already good using the YM2612 + SN76489, imagine using the YM2151 + Sega PCM 😮
Niiiiice! ♥
in the name of democracy, do some helldivers 2 music :D
